7. The Lion killed by the right, his name was Rabin
Ehud ,   Ta   (11.14.08)
And since when were Herzl, the most liberal Viennese Jew, Ben-Gurion, Chairman of the Labour party members of the right. The hijackers are actually the Lion killers who usurped secular, liberal, and social-democratic Zionism and turned it into a scary messianic frenzy, Herzl would not recognize, and even Jabotinsky, the great liberal humanist would not approve of!
8. Great aticle!!!!!

14. What a joke
Joshua ,   Jersey City, NJ   (11.15.08)
Since 2001, the governing parties have either been Likud or Kadima, which is overwhelmingly made up of former Likud leaders. "The left" has not had any major role in a government except as a minor coalition partner. What's amazing about the Israeli right is their ability to blame others, who have no power or influence in governing whatsoever, for their own mistakes, when they have had a near monopoly on the government for the better part of a decade.
15. Only the Hatikva coalition will restore Lion King to power
MT   (11.15.08)
Not the Likud. And yet, right wingers are joining Likud. Bibi has announced he is ready to negotiate away Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria. Hatikva won't . So why is this happening? Will Israelis opt for defeat without a fight?
16. Yes
David   (11.15.08)
This is a first. The first time that I have ever found the need to simply state my agreement with a column on this website. There is not a single point on which I differ with it on. Indeed, the wrong ideas have risen to prominence in Israel over the last decade, and the country suffers from a failure of leadership that is as plain as the light of day.
17. Excellent analyze but the true lions is our IDF
e.m.Jordan is Palest ,   s.f   (11.15.08)
The real lions are the people whom have served and serving in our army, the real lions are the people whom have sacrificed their life for this land; the true lions are the true fighters the entire life prying doesn’t secure the Yehuda and Shomron for us if the true seculars Zionists were not fighting for reestablishment of Jewish State now we could not have our State, By the way I have no doubt one day Jordan will be Palestinian State.
18. Excellent article!
MK ,   Philadelphia USA   (11.15.08)
19. Lion King
RK ,   Eilat, Israel   (11.15.08)
Radyshevsky needs to get a real job. This made no sense and wasn't worth the time taken to publish or read it. Idiot ahad Gadol.
20. he miss the point
libka ,   jerusalem   (11.15.08)
as the lions are the israili or the jews .. it is the old .new illusion it is about the jews and the others .. lions are evry where from evry race .... see the history of this date not from a fake openion about humanity and equality and democracy . nothing is special fore one race only
21. #14 get it straight
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (11.15.08)
You know very little of Israeli politics. You should learn before you write. Shimon Peres and Haim Ramon, to mention two, are Kadima members who are not ex-Likud. Kadima is recognized as an extreme Left wing party, competing with Labor and Meretz for votes. Since 2001, Israel had a Right wing government 1 year (2003), a Left/Right coalition 2 years (2001-2002) and an extreme Left Wing government for five years (2004 - 2008). Labor was a major partner in all governments (In Israel, Defense Minister is an important post) except in the Right-wing government of 2003.
22. delusional
Michael ,   Haifa   (11.15.08)
He should be returned to the closed ward, from where he escaped, as soon as possible
23. THE LION OF JUDA
Anny Matar ,   Ramat Hen/Ramat Gan-   (11.15.08)
NOW IS THE TIME IT MUST NOT BE MISSED !!! We must make it clear to our neighbors that THIS IS OUR COUNTRY AND WE AREN'T WILLING TO CUT IT LIKE SALAMI !!! They are encouraged by our left who will never ever agree to our absolute right to this country. They, the left, never accuses the other side they're just shouting Mea Culpa, while the others without concience, enjoy our feeling of guilt. HOPEFULLY, the majority of our people will realise that THE TIME HAS COME for us to retaliate and we get our pride and standing within the country back again. Anny Matar
24. Rewriting History
Ami Isseroff ,   Rehovot Israel   (11.15.08)
Radyshevsky wrote a tale for the anti-matter universe. Perhaps he never studied the history of Israel before 1967. In Radyshevsky's book, Begin and not Ben-Gurion was the first PM, and Israel was built by the Israel Beiteinu party and the Haredim, not by the Labor movement and the Kibbutzim. The Etzel and not the Haganah did the work of the war of Independence and Begin and Shamir and not Rabin and Dayan led the 6 day war. Zionism was never supposed to be about beating up Arabs and stealing land. You stood history on its head
25. A CARTOON? WHAT A WEIRD FOOL.
Daniel ,   New York   (11.15.08)
The writer of this article has done nothing but make a fool of himself. Not only is his history all wrong, but his attempt to draw comparisons with a cartoon movie is just plain weird.
26. Such a good piece
Frank ,   Canada   (11.15.08)
This story is so good that Leftists corrupted lions are not able to answer. The real truth is that Leftist cats are afraid to face realities and are escaping in a Walt Disney like world. That's why this story is appropriate.
27. To Ami #24
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (11.15.08)
Hi Ami, I understand that you feel hurt when you see how things are today and what's left of what those real lions like Ben Gurion dreamed and build. Just one question, please. What is the reason that we have a right yes to Rehovot and not to my "yshuv"? Is it just what the UN declared in 1948? Though we never had recognized frontiers, not even pre 1967 is recognized by arabs, I am sure that the dream of ALL the father founders of Israel, all those who gave their blood for our country was to build a Jewish State for the Jewish People in the Land of Israel. Of course I am sure you also know that Ben Gurion, Golda, Begin and also Rabin would be ashamed by our actual government and it's policies!
28. Not really true
Ilan ,   Ariel   (11.15.08)
The left is guilty of subverting the courts, justice system and media. They have acted to exclude people who don't agree with their politics from advancing in what should be non-political governmental bodies. On the other hand their control of the Knesset is through the democratic process and is legitimate.
29. really enjoyed the analogy
(11.15.08)
maybe he should think of going into politics...hmm? i m sure he would find co-thinkers in Ha'tikva party
30. #14, Joshua, Sharon took the Likud due left long ago
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (11.15.08)
during his reign - and the band of misfits that took over Kadima have pretty much shoved it into a Left-oriented direction ever since. Olmert is one such example.
