1. Sadly, most still want to see Israel destroyed.
There's a curious correlation here. The more Gazans treated in Israel, the more rockets and mortars are fired into Israel. It's not a direct causal relationship, of course. But Gazans have come to expect they can aggress without consequence.
Yet despite the thousands of Gazans and West Bank Arabs that have received compassionate treatment in Israel, that hasn't lessened their desire to see the end of Israel.

3. Not all Gazans are Fatah and Hamas
There are alot of Gazans who appreciate the Israeli humanity, we also want to raise our childeren in peace. Iam personaly agains Qassam rockets and there are many like me , But my question to Israel is Why the capital punishement....Leavingthe city without electricity is not making me think about coexistance righ now

4. To Nadia from "Gaza"
If there's no electricity, how come you can post messages on talkback?
Israel owes you nothing, make your own electricity and call it nation building lol!

you moron!
and if there is an end to israel, who do you think will treat these palestinian patients?? hamas?

7. Get it thru your stupid heads..Arabs appreciate nothing
Thats why they are barely tolerated..If they didnt have oil, they'd be ignored like the blacks in Africa.

8. #3 Interesting question
... one that you should direct towards the people in control of Gaza right now.
there may indeed by many Gazans who appreciate the work done by this medical centre, but it's also a very good question as to why that never gets reported.

9. Misguided efforts
I've spent the last decade working in coexistence, and I'm sad to conclude that there is no ray of hope to be gleaned from such situations. For all those who appreciate the human face of Israel and our genuine efforts to help them, there are many more who would sooner reject those same efforts, bite the hand wanting to feed them and have no wish to live in peace, not now and not in the future.

Israel saves the lives of those who want to destroy her.
This is logic?
Why is it the Gazans can offord so many rockets and can't offord to save one woman w/ a heart attack?
So good to know they appreciate saving lives while they plot daily to murder Israelis.

12. praiseworthy?
It is praiseworthy that these doctors treat Arabs for free, using equipment paid for by the Israeli taxpayer.
I wonder if they also treat Jews for free, or do Jews have to pay 1000 NIS an hour for consultation?

" It seems surrealistic and delusional, and some will say it’s unthinkable, but Barzilai’s model is the only moral answer to the chaos around us. "
It must be super human not to ask to stop qassams and have Shalit back.
Sure enough Shalit and residents of the Negev are not worthy enough a try. Misplaced display of "humanity" for anyone else ther than Jewish gets on my nerves.
I wonder how comes all muslims/Gazans treated in Israeli hospitals come from fantastic families "a ray of light". What a coincidence the despicable ones seem to enjoy eternal health and show no connexion to the ones wanting to get treatment in Israel.
What about,- give us back Gilad, stop qassams and double the number of Gazans getting treatment at Barzilai?

Very sad comment. It seems that you know it all about all Palestinians. It is people with your mind set who make things worse on both sides. I know many Palestinians who do not want to see anybody hurts or suffers whether they are Israelis, Palestinians, Americans ...etc and many Israelis are the same.
With comment like this, you try to distant what is right.

19. What happened to the young Gazan woman who was treated
in Beer Sheva and came stuffed up with explosives to pay her doctor for his kindness?? This is the real Arab face, please we are not so naive as the author of this article. How many spit balls do you need to get in your face to treat it as rain?
|
|
20. Better luck treating a brick wall with kindness.
They will loathe you today, and they will loathe you tomorrow.
Worthy intentions, doctors, but it will always be a fool's errand.

21. This used to be the norm
There was a time not so long ago where every hospital and every ward had Arab patients from Gaza, Judea and Samaria here for treatment. They got the same care as Israelis and it a point of positive contact. The PA and it's policy of violence ended all that.
|
|
22. Needless to say
For your information, medical treatment for Gazans is not free. It is covered by the Palestinian Authority. So no Palestinian is taking your bloody tax money!!!

you know, you really are funny with your comment.
let's see now.....
in israel, israeli jews join peace now, nachsom, women in black, free gaza, professors at universities criticise some actions by israeli government, etc... israelis DO VOICE THEIR OPINIONS WHEN THEY SEE INJUSTICE OF ANY KIND.
DO PALESTINIANS AND ISRAELI ARABS HAVE ANY ORGANIZATION LIKE PEACE NOW????? where arabs collectively voice their condemnation of kassams and katyushas bombing israel by gaza and palestinians and hamas???
no, no, no! NO!
we israelis never hear any condemnation from any arab leader or citizen as to the 7,000 missiles that hizbullah fired on innocent israeli civilians, killing innocents and burning their homes and possessions. WE DIDN'T HEAR ANY OF YOUR ARAB VOICES CONDEMNING THIS MISSILE BARAGE IN 2006. why not? if you expect a clear message of love and acceptance from the israeli public, why aren'y you brave enough and concerned enough for the israeli public to stqand up to gaza or hizbullah and condemn them as well????
yes, IT IS A SAD COMMENT WHEN YOU DO NOT HAVE A COMMNET AS WELL.
what is sad is that you arabs whether in israel, gaza, west bank or any other arab countries including arab countries in the un, NOT ONCE COMDEMMNED THE VICIOUS MISSILE BARAGE ON INNOCENT CIVILIANS IN ISRAEL COMING FROM LEBANON OR GAZA. NOT ONCE! YOU WERE SILENT!
if you claim many palestinians do not want or do not agree with this violence THEN STAND UP AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!!
please, do not insult our intelligence by playing the righteous here in your post. when someone doesn't agree with another's action, they stand up and complain or parade in big numbers to stop it.
yes, i have seen palestinian and israeli arab parades where they hold palestinian and hizbulla and hamas flags. is that fair? to live in israel and parade a flag of a terrorist organization whose charter is the destruction of this country?
so, i ask you, if you want peace and coexistance between us, you as arab israelis have to come to terms with the fact that you can't speak from both sides of your mouth. your actions and deeds speak louder than what you wrote here. your INACTIONS AGAINST THE VIOLENCE AND YOUR SILENCE IN VIEW OF THIS TERROR RAINING ON ISRAEL IS DEFEANING AND SPEAKS VOLUMES FOR WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART. NOTHING!

you are correct. the pa, the hamas, etc... with their policies of hate and violence ALSO BROUGHT ABOUT THE NEED FOR A WALL AND SECURITY CHECKPOINTS. then they complain that there is movement restrictions. can youb imagine that? it's like them saying...."we want to always kill you, terrorise you, bombared you, suicide belt you, stab you with knives, explos=de inside your communities, malls and centers....but.....how dare you stop us from continuing this by putting walls around you, putting fences around you and checking us, making us wait in the sun for ours at your apartheid check points?
what chitzpah you israelis have, ha?
but we israelis know better. we know their kind. we know their intentions and we are smart enough from experience to know that the only thing that saved us from the terror in 2000 and on is the fence, the walls and the checkpoints. thousands of suicide attacks in 2000 and on untill, boom! here was a wall, here are the checkpoints, here are the fences and....boom! no more suicide terror in israel on a mass scale. what geniuses we are, we the "apartheid" state that only wants to save pourselves from being murdered by you arabs.

26. #21 This used to be the norm
Absolutely correct - the Israeli government offered medical treatment to the West Bank and Gaza inhabitants before the PA installed its own "bartering" system for obtaining medical assistance in Israeli hospitals. Since 1995, Save a Child's Heart - functioning at the Wolfson Medical Center - provides cardiac care/surgery for the under 18 year olds who are allowed to come. However, this is not funded by the PA, but by kind donors who agree that "a child is a child" and thus deserves to receive the treatment needed to save or improve his/her life. Politics, religion and race are irrelevant in this organization.
