1. when is an opinion a crime

2. The Inquisition
Dovy ,   Toronto   (11.26.08)
Only under the Inquisition or Stalin was there persecution and prosecution for opinions. Maybe they should start it for Zionists who advocate continued mistreatment of millions of Palestinians. What´s good for the goose is good for the gander.
3. Holocaust is not an opinion #1
Historical Observer ,   USA   (11.26.08)
I don't recall any video or photographic evidence of the christian's messiah performing miracles. How can you compare the opinion of a religious belief to a actual event of mass-murder almost 80 years ago? Denying the Holocaust is more akin to denying the earth revolves around the sun. Not believing in jesus is not denying that he existed. Denying the Holocaust denies the horror, torture, and death of over 6 million people. Really.
4. Toben is the Main Publisher of the articles by Barry Chamish
eliezer ,   haifa, israel   (11.27.08)
Toben is the Main Publisher of the articles by Barry Chamish, the guy who invented the conspiracy theory about Yigal Amir being an innocent patsy and Rabin being murdered by the SHABAK
5. Wrong address
Stefan ,   Tal Aviv   (11.27.08)
Dear deniers, Please, pay attention that it is not Israel that requests the extradition. Obviously Germany knows what they are dealing with. Holocaust denialism is not an opinion but a major policy outline of the neo-nazi movement. If and when the neo-nazis get in power, holocaust will be repeated to be denied again afterwards. Antisemitism does not die. It's like malaria. It comes and goes, but the disease is there all the time
6. respect for the victims
gerhard ,   Munich, Germany   (11.27.08)
It is not a question of opinion but of respect for all the victims of the shoa. Germany of today knows why and has to punish the deniers as hard as possible. There are again nazis, no-go areas for people who look different and the denying of the holocaust is part of their awful credo. They cannot have run their websites in Germany so nazis from other part of the world have taken over this function. My opinion (look at the difference, that's really an opinion) is: Germany should exercising even more strict legal measures against the nazi revival, antisemitism and xenophobia.
7. Question: is holocaust denial NOT punishable in the UK
Charles   (11.27.08)
sounds strange to me
8. British double standard
Raphael ,   Netanya   (11.27.08)
The british judges never hesitated issuing an arrest warrant against israeli officers who only followed the legal procedure erasing houses of terrorist , but reject the extradition of nazi authors of criminal hate propaganda, punishable over the world except US, Sweden and Iran.
9. Holocaust Denial is not punishable in GB and in the US
era ,   Jlem, Israel   (11.27.08)
Those two countries do not have any laws against people denying the holocaust. Apart from Iran, the USA are THE safe haven for holocaust deniers. The IHR, a so called "institute" based in California, serves as a network for all those disgusting creatures. Protected by the first amendment. Thankfully, german laws are differing in that specific case, as are those of most of western European countries.
10. #3
Steve ,   USA   (12.13.08)
An opinion is an opinion no matter how stupid it may be. To take away a persons freedom because he doesn't believe in something not backed by evidence is a true crime. You ask what lack of evidence? Here is just one example. The gassing of Jews or any other people for that matter by the Nazis is wholly based on eyewitness accounts, that is a fact, not an opinion. Raul Hilberg clearly stated during a trial i9n Canada that there is no forensic, photo, film or autopsy evidence of a single human being ever having been gassed. By imprisoning these people on casts more doubt on the Holocaust claim. As the saying goes...The truth does not need the protection of the Law, a lie does!
