I am not Haredi but religious. Some observations: to #9: If men are taking up all seats, ask one to move. They do move (depends on man). If any man brushes near you, elbow him, yell, etc. Do not tolerate any activity by some pervert. Anyone who gets on a bus to touch women is a sad case. to #28: I ride these buses frequently and yes, there are young women sometimes in either very revealing outfits, some show mucho cleavage, others you can see parts of their bodies you wish you didn't, and many with skintight spandex-type clothes. It depends on the bus and the route. The #2 less likely as it basically goes through almost exclusively relgious neighborhoods...but not totally. The #1 and #38, more likely. These are the buses that go to the Kotel. For other buses, plenty of times when secular students or workers or whatever get on and appear as above. I do not want to deny people freedom of choice within reason; it is then their call to come to religious Judaism or not. However, on the other side, a lot of religious men apparently find it hard to ignore women. They are under a lot of restrictions. I personally have had few bus incidents of any sort; of those, most were instigated by men either wearing colored kippot, no kippot, or Arabs. I kid you not.

I travel every day on buses in Jerusalem and I have yet to see any promiscuity. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a man sitting next to a woman. The problem is haradim who have corrupted the Jewish religion with their obsession about sex. Haradim are a curse to Israeli society.

Kosher or not. Either create a bus for those who are ridiculously unable to properly avert their thoughts/eyes from promiscuous women who, gasp, don't cover their elbows! Create one bus line for the Chareidim, one for the Dati Leumi, one for the Chilonim, one for the Arabim and "other". Let's segregate and turn into what the world already thinks of us - Apartheid! No, no... that makes no sense. What makes sense is to let the Chareidim have their own little bus service that segregates as they wish. Egged should then operate around the city and country on Shabbat (not Chagim). Not everyone in Jerusalem is religious, not everyone in Jerusalem is Jewish, and there is no reason they should have to suffer by the whining of the close-minded minority in this country.

I really feel sorry for these people they carry things to far. If a man sit with a woman he will not catch any thing and she will leave no stains on her chair if she has a period. I say cancel all kosher egged busses. Must admit I prefer to sit next to good looking guys.
