one Shalit lost is not enough? Golan shall never fall again!!!
2. The Golan should remain Israeli.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (12.04.08)
If Syria wants peace with Israel, it should offer in exchange the Golan. The Golan represent for Israel more security than “peace” with Syria. But of course that will not happen. So, there is no reason for Israel to be generous with the Mafia regime of Assad. The Assad family has established a hereditary dynasty shored up by repression within, and confrontation and terror abroad. The rule of the Assads is not aimed at improving the lot of their people or forwarding a particular ideology. They changed ideology from secular Arabism to a seemingly impossible confection of pan-Arabism and Islamist extremism. It is pointless to “engage” Syria in dialogue except insofar as it is possible to confront them with their violations and insist that they mend their ways. 3. Reparations
steve ,   london, england   (12.04.08)
Syria should give the Golan to Israel as a gesture of peace and compensation for the Israeli citizens killed by Syria's wars. Syria should give it to Israel as a security measure for Israel's national security. Syria should give it to Israel as a gesture of stimulus for the establishement of non-violent relations for other militant groups in the Arab states and within Israeli society to follow. If they give the Golan to Israel everybody can take a massive leap forward in attitude and confidence. Shlemim ve Shalom
4. After elections, negotiations are over.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.04.08)
Syria will be waiting until hell freezes over. Of course, they can always call Olmert in his prison cell ...... Maybe Assad would give Olmert political asylum. Insane asylum is my solution, more appropriate than prison.
5. US-Syria?
judyinjerusalem ,   jerusalem   (12.04.08)
So--take a look at what David Schenker says about this: While moving Syria into the Western camp would be a great accomplishment, it's not clear that this development would necessarily constitute a long-term strategic setback for Iranian efforts to undermine U.S. policy in Lebanon, the Palestinian Authority, and Iraq. In the absence of Syria, Iran would still be capable of supporting Hizbullah, Hamas, and its Shiite allies in Iraq. complete article at http://tinyurl.com/5zlhk6
6. Assadis a liar! Didnt he just reward Kuntar?
Freejay3@gmail.com ,   Israel   (12.04.08)
7. NO to Syria
Brod ,   USA   (12.04.08)
If Syria is interested in peace with Israel, it must be without precondition, that is, peace without demanding a piece of Israel's land. The Golan belongs to Israel since ancient time which Israel liberated from the Syrian occupier in 1967. It is a strategic place which is vital to Israel's national security. Israel should say NO to Syria's peace crap to usurp Israel's liberated ancient land.
