My dear Dov ... what makes you think that those incharge of the nukes and majority of the officers in the army, are not radical muslims? Do you realise that those officers who, during Zia's dictatorship around 25 yrs ago, were selected for their fundamentalism, are now all reaching senior command ranks?

isn't it a pattern that repeats itself at huge cost of human lives over the border? Its the same in the Palestinian Authority the mirror image of which is Pakistan. The leaders are 'weak' or too busy infighting. One hand feeds the terrorists and the while denying obvious links to them. By the way, its a formula that works. Look at Israeli leadership negotiating peace with the same guys who are doing the killing. Now the Indians are doing the same. Wake up smell the coffee.

GOOD analysis.
I would add another reason why our (i.e. Israeli, Indian) governments behave the way they behave. After a lot of trouble they captured the much prized position of being at helm of state affairs. Now they (i.e. the politicians) like to have a life full of peace -- in order to be able to enjoy their acquired position. So the politicians preach peace -- while the terrorists are thinking, “The hell with peace. We like to terrorize you (i.e. the citizens), and we will continue to terrorize you. We enjoy seeing you bleed (to death).”
SO, the governments should go in full force after the terrorists . The terrorists will not stop terrorizing the civilians. The terrorists will ONLY stop -- after they (i.e. the terrorists) have been killed.
BTW the ruling politicians should know that they have been chosen to that position in order to SERVE the citizens of their country -- they have NOT been chosen to have an easy life (at the expense of the tax-paying citizens).
ADVICE to the politicians : if you are not prepared to be a servant of the citizens of your country -- do NOT enter politics. One should NOT enter politics in order to become rich. To serve the country is a call of DUTY -- even at your expense. IF you want to become rich -- LEAVE politics, and go into business.
