1. Greek's Pay
Marcel ,   Florida   (12.14.08)
The Greeks were always quick to jump on the side of the Palestinian terrorists making war against Israel. It seems that they are now getting a taste of war in their own cities after doing what they often accused Israel of doing to the Palestinians. Now the hypocrites come crying to Israel for help. Payday always arrives.

Tahl ,   Israel   (12.14.08)
We would ask them for tear gas, in order to disperse Palestinian rioters?
4. Barak
Joseph ,   Israel   (12.14.08)
The rioters are non-muslim Greek citizens. Barak will send live ammunition to help increase deterence.
5. Actually, Joseph, many rioters are non-Greek Muslims
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (12.14.08)
Joseph (#4) claims "The rioters are non-muslim Greek citizens". Though the majority may be Greeks, many are illegal immigrants from North Africa. Some reports mention shouts of "allahu akhbar" coming from the protesters. And, yeah, it takes some chutzpah for Greece to come pleading for supplies from Israel.

12. A friend in need...
Jake   (12.14.08)
"This is not the first time the Greeks turn to Israel in an emergency. Last year Israel sent 55 firefighters to aid the Greeks in putting out the massive wildfires that spread out through the country. A few days ago the Greek president presented the Israeli firefighters with merit awards in a ceremony held at the Greek Embassy in Israel" Not one Arab country assisted in fighting those fires in 2007. The very fact that Greece turned to Israel for help in times of emergency already speaks volumes as compared to Israel's Arab/Moslem neighbors, which consistently deny Israeli assistance in diaster relief. One salient example is the earthquake in Iran. Israel offered assistance, but Iran said it would receive assistance from any nation apart from Israel. To me, the images of burning and looting, Greek consulates being attacked, Greek flags being burned, and the burning Christmas tree in Athens were saddening. When I saw Greece being lambasted and demonized in the Western media for its handling of the riots, it hit close to home. I believe Israel should continue to help Greece in her hour of need.
13. not chemical
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (12.14.08)
maybe just percussion. The chemical grenades even something as benign as tear gas will be used for propaganda purposes later.
14. Don't help them
Ran   (12.14.08)
They are no friends of Israel
15. And if they don't supply them quickly enough
Steve from Raleigh   (12.15.08)
The Greeks will accuse Israel of supporting terrorism, etc etc etc. I say just sell them the gear and charge them an obscene amount for them.
16. Greece asks Israel for teargas grenades
george ,   paphos Cyprus   (12.15.08)
Greece has never been a friend of Israel. Kids at school are taught to hate the Jews for killing Jesus. And now they ask for help to supress their own youth. If Israel refuses it will be the start of a new friendship between our peoples
17. quote ORIGINAL sources!
rich grove ,   Berlin   (12.26.08)
Any foto of used tear gas canister with "Israel" stamp on it? How do I know this story is true? Ynet just reports what some media have reported as "official sources say" or "Greek police sources say" "German and Israeli teargas in Greece". Yet no one has stated any name so you can track down the source. To me it´s just some propaganda put on the internet, and everyone is taking the bait.
18. Democracy?
joop ,   none   (07.07.11)
