61. A License, a Car and Work
Avi   (12.24.08)
I don't see what is wrong with having a license. It could be a necessity to drive as some of these places may be far and out of the way. It could be a matter of practicality. Now, already having the license, they could be on the way to getting the job to be able to pay for it, as well as its expenses. There's nothing wrong with a man-even a single one-to go out and earn his own money for his own use. In the end, it will be much better than having their parents-or the state-to have to pay for their day to day expenses while the rest of Israel toils for every hard earned Shekel.

Actually cars expell any number of gases, and CO2 is one of those , one reponsible for the greenhouse effect. CO is also expelled, an important pollutant, but not a menace to rising world temperatures, or O3 depletion Now I do agree is nonsense to forbid these kids a driving license, though considering they live on other's charities or taxpayer's money, then I do agree to some extent that they shouldn't own a car on money given to them to study. Once they work and earn their own, let them do as they wish.
65. Ok H.A. Ready - where is the contribution?
Avigail ,   Brisbane Australia   (12.27.08)
Ok I understand the why not as described. However isnt this insular existance supposed to have a good benefit for the rest of society? Where is the benefit when you cannot get anyone to answer "too hard" questions. Isnt Torah scholars supposed to supply these answers? If so where are these scholars/institutions that provide satisfactory answers? Isnt there study supposed to be for the benefit of EVERYONE?
66. Drivers license
kad ,   germany   (12.28.08)
hey I think it's good. It's just better for the environment but they should start having group rides, so that young Yeshiva students don't have to hitch-hike and put their lives in danger. And the government taxes are spent wisely and for the right cause Torah learning.
