I got involved in this alternative carols because of my outrage at Israel’s collective punishment of 1.5 millions Palestinian in Gaza, causing hunger and death. I’m appalled with Israel’s policy of causing the malnourishment of thousands of babies in Gaza. I support the British War on Want for its fantastic work and its courageous campaign against the atrocities committed by Israel. As an Israeli, I feel it is my duty to speak up against the crimes against humanity committed by Israel. Will you have the humanity to stand up against those Israelis who call for the starvation of 1.5 millions Palestinian in Gaza??

Where is your outrage at collective punishment of 7 million Israelis subjected to Palestinian terror? How is it possible for Palestinians to be starving when they receive billions of dollars per year in foreign aid and live in a society that worships and consumes weapons without hesitation? Palestinians are starving because Israel stops almost all entry of trucks into Gaza, reducing it from over 500 trucks a day in December 2005 to less than 5 a day in December 2008. Sounds like you’re not bothered supporting a policy that causes Palestinian children to go hungry and thousands of babies to suffer malnourishment in Gaza. After months of punishment, political isolation in response to the election of Hamas, yet refusing to speak to democratically elected representatives, by keeping borders closed to adequate supplies of food, medicine, spare parts, building supplies, continuing incursions regularly in Gaza, and in the West Bank the situation is stirring up a response by largely unarmed protestors - is it any wonder ? I do not condone violence, but it is no surprise that after 41 years of occupation, 60 years since the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, 91 years since Britain gave away land for a homeland for the Jews (not necessarily a state) and nearly 2 years collective punishment for electing "the wrong party" that there have been some rockets fired - wrong, I know, but where there is such imbalance of power, where is the morality of Israel's action ?

Thank God for Jews and Christians willing to speak out about injustice - deaths, discrimination, movement restrictions, collective punishment, house demolitions, separate roads, families kept apart by permit restrictions, age limits on those allowed to cross through checkpoints, land confiscation, racist daubings on walls, sewage thrown down from apartments on people below, verbal abuse, indiscriminate firing into refugee camps night after night, incursions and arbitrary arrests, destruction of wells, refusal to allow building, destroying olive groves, halting school building, destroying roads and blocking them, preventing villagers from using their roads, or vehicles on 40 roads - need I continue .... if only more people would speak or sing out the truth, instead of keeping quiet.
