Your condemnation of Israel is predictable yet the UN offered not one ounce of assistance while Israel was pounded day and night by the Palestinians. We need a strong UN. An objective UN. A UN made up of members who seek the truth and are ready to take action to solve problems. With the exception of perhaps a dozen member states, what you now have is an auditorium full of vultures waiting to condemn Israel while Israel defends herself and does precisely what every member state in the UN would do under the same circumstances.

There is no such thing as an excessive use of force in wartime. Belligerents use all their power to destroy their ennemy. This article is a joke. Hamas fires rockets, no matter how crude they are, with the intent to kill. Hamas has fired thousands of rockets over the course of 8 years and Israel has done nothing in return. Hamas' success rate does not matter nor the type of weaponry. The rockets do their job by terrorizing over 600,000 people who live in constant fear of the unknown with daily air raid sirens. No other country would tolerate the same, why should Israel? Where were all the Israel haters when Hamas was firing rockets?

Many could see where this situation was heading well before Israel launched its assault. In fact - Israel was virtually begging for a continuation of the ceasefire. Olmert & co were being lampooned by all and sundry as "weak , ineffectual appeasers". We didn't hear Mr Ban protesting much at all. Why not an emergency trip to the area to get the message across? Why didn't the UN help Israel's grovelling leaders to secure a ceasefire? Who (part of a ploy anyway), were transferring aid while still under rocket attack. No. It wasn't important enough. But it certainly is now? Get off. What a fool of an organisation. I have no respect for the UN; they are a nuisance: a pimple on the arse of progress.

Why were the terrorstinians allowed to bombard Israel without restraint? Where was the condemnation of the terrorist's homicide bombings? No, the UN is owned by the arab bloc. What more can you expect?
