1. No more suffering little one.
Talula ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
Terribly terribly tragic. Poor family, my thoughts are with you.
2. With all due respect, I can't forget one thing...
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (12.30.08)
...their families have refused to cover them in Israel's flag during the burial ceremony. So my sympathy is cold and quite distanced, as it is fit towards those who are ashamed of MY FLAG!
3. oh dear
Ilana   (12.30.08)
My thoughts are also with the family. May you all know good and happiness in the future.
4. #2 The Doc You owe an apology
Pete ,   Bat Yam   (12.30.08)
It was NOT the Holtzbergs that refused, It was the Teitelbaum family who are Satmar that refused. You owe All Jews and the deceased a big apology for defaming the dead with your callous mistaken and nonfactual words!
5. to the doc, chill out!
adam ,   israel   (12.30.08)
stop being so close minded. who cares if they want their body wrapped in the flag or not. cant you be sympathetic and compassionate to people who may not share the same attachement to a materialistic symbol as you do? this is why your zionism is so dangerous. it allows very little room for others and their beliefs. its the same as the ultra orthodox who will throw out a food if it is not ultra kosher. a jewish state allows for jews to have all their practises regardless if those belief match with yours. so find some respect.
6. Proper genetic testing is essential
Judah ,   Golan Heights,ISRAEL   (12.30.08)
7. Everything is in hands of G*D.
albert George ,   Canada, Ontario   (12.30.08)
It is very sad for Holtzberg family but I am very confident and with grace of g*d moshe will bring light and we will be all proud of him and so jewish people. He is G*D's saved child he will do miracles...mark my words. Everything is in hands of G*D.
8. To The Doc, Haifa, Israel
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
You're not a very nice person you know - the Holzberg's were covered with YOUR flag... it was the Satmar chasid's family that refused an Israeli flag. May their holy souls rest in peace and may you open your heart to people different than you.
9. To the Doc - #2
M ,   Ashkelon, Israel   (12.30.08)
You are mistaken. There was another man, Aryeh Leiv Teitelbaum, that was killed at the Chabad house who was from an anti zionist chassidic sect called Satmar. It was his family that refused to have the Israeli flag draped over the coffin. The Chabad/ Lubovich are zionists and pro Israel. The Holtzberg's coffins were covered by the Israeli flag.
10. #2 the doc
Rob ,   London   (12.30.08)
you think you're so clever but you're actually an ignoramus. your words disgust me and everyone else. yes, you owe the holzbergs a big apology. you have made a seriously offensive mistake and should be ashamed.
11. Son of slain Chabad rabbi dies
Marlene ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
To No. 2 - The Doc You are a pathetic person - what business is it of yours what they do. Besides that they are devout Jews, who have done good work. What have you done beside be evil minded. Have a little respect for the bereaved
12. My thoughts are with the family
Zvi   (12.30.08)
13. that is so terrible, so sad
(12.30.08)
14. #2 -
Barnie ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
No, it wasn't the Holzbergs' coffins which were not covered with an Israeli flag. It was a different victim. As was his right. Please, before launching an attack, make sure of your facts.
15. Has the state of Israel revealed the true extent of the
Marcella   (12.30.08)
torture inflicted on this couple? The government of Israel, along with the rest of the appeasers of the world, have kept the details to a minimum. Visit Tamar Yonah's Blog or Atlas Shrugs Blog to learn the horrific and depraved things done to them. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/3 It may not be politically correct to bring the horror of what correligionists of your 'peace partners' are capable of doing.
16. The doc , Haifa ? Apology ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (12.30.08)
or at least some excuses ? You were wrong , it can happen to everyone , so say "sorry" , at least . Had it be a teitelbaum's son , i could agree .
17. #2 You're wrong dude!
Talula ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
It wasn't the Holtzberg family. Besides, a little boy died, who suffered pretty much most of his short little life - doesn't matter what his parents did or did not do. Have some respect man.
18. holtzberg childs death
yankele ,   kfar saba   (12.30.08)
to the doc No 2 Fools put their foot in their mouths & you have put both feet in your big foolish mouth
19. haifa 'doc' (haha joke)
ari   (12.30.08)
won't apologize because a) he really really hates beautiful TRULY JEWISH people like the HolzbergsZ"L (poor guy this doc fella, he feels threatened by the good guys, what a nerd) and therefore is SO disappointed to be wrong. b) he ain't a gever and will never ever be a gibor( same root letters, gimmel bet raish). Rabbi Holzberg was both gever and gibor. Docco will never be either.
20. God's message to us...
(12.30.08)
We are not being compassionate to others.....
21. The issue is not...
Rachel ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
The issue is not that Doc got the wrong family. The issue is that Doc only has compassion for people who share his politics and his world view.
22. Then we should sit shiva
Blueyes ,   Las Vegas, USA   (12.30.08)
While we can't sit with the family, we should all say a prayer for this boy. His family has known horror, and their memories shouldn't pass quietly into the night. Say a prayer for all of them, and let them rest, somehow, in peace.
23. To #2 Doc: Sometimes we should have a little common sense
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (12.30.08)
There is a time to be critical but the death of a child is always a tragedy and, while your sentiments are understandable, some things are better left alone. Doc, its good to be right but its better to be wise!
24. Rachel , 21
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (12.30.08)
Would you have compassion for an anti Israeli as this teitelbaum was ? i not , not for this teitelbaum or any anti Israeli , nor antisemite , they can go to hell .
25. Doc Learn from the Holtzbergs
David ,   LA California   (12.30.08)
Gabi and Rivkah Holtzberg dedicated their lives to others, left and right, secular zionist and neturie karta. They shared a common destiny with all Jews leaving an easy life in Israel to commit their lives to this ideal. Doc take a lesson from them and change the way you view your fellow Jew. Regardless of flags or none we all share a common destiny.
26.  Son of slain Chabad couple dies of severe illness
adam ,   u.s   (12.30.08)
who cares if he was a zionist , an observant or non-observant jew, or wheather he should be draped in flag or not . i bet you he didn't care either, the poor child was too busy suffering from his illness. just pray for him and his family as i did.
27. Satmar loves Israelis, but not the Israeli government...
Tali ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
So what if a perfectly decent Jew who lives in Israel doesn't like the government or what the flag stands for? Is anyone personally harmed by this opinion? Our Satmar brother lived here, he didn't take taxpayers' money or government money and he worked honorably to support himself. It's not like he was a criminal or ever hurt anybody. He died in service to the Jewish people, making sure our food sources are kosher. Personally, I MUCH prefer the flag-snubbing Satmar with all their goodness and idealism to certain flag-loving Israeli who endanger the entire country with their Leftist policies. May G-d comfort the mourners of Israel and protect us all.
28. #2
Isaac ,   NY, USA   (12.30.08)
I would imagine you are not a medical doc. If someone has a different political opinion than you do, you have no sympathy for them being tortured and killed, far from home, in the presence of their 2 year old son, while on a selfless mission in a faraway land? You are sick, and I DO feel for your soul, which must be "cold and quite distanced" from your twisted mind.
29. The Holtzberg family
NYC Girl   (12.30.08)
The suffering this family has endured is almost incomprehensible. The only thing we can hope is that little Moshe will escape the terrible legacy of the illness that claimed his siblings.
30. #22 blue eyes
motti ,   bet shemesh   (12.30.08)
One of the most productive and meaningfull suggestuions I have seen on these talk backs. Yes we all should take on something good in place of sitting shivah. do a mitzvah, even better take on a mitzvah for life like lighting shabbat candels or men putting on tfilin, have your mezuzah checked and add another to a missing door post. give charity, the list goes on and on. One nation under G-D that is the ultimate light.
