Talula ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
No injuries reported in Kiryat Malachi - so It really IS the City of Angels.
2. There is no solution to rocket attacks
Joe   (12.30.08)
There is no solution to rocket attacks, another lebanon failure is under way
3. Qiryat Malachi target?
George ,   Kfar Saba   (12.30.08)
Is it possible that they were trying to hit Moshe Katsav?
4. Take A Moment To Think of It
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem - ISRAEL   (12.30.08)
From psychological and military perspectives the mere fact that HAMAS in this war has thus far been able to strike some big cities of the south like Ashqelon,Ashdod,Yavne,Kiryat Malachi besides Sderot,Netivot,Nahal Oz, and Rahat simply reflects some sort of victory for HAMAS because this movement has been able to pound southern Israeli cities that were immune to attacks or raids by arab armies in all their wars with Israel.Putting Egyptian,Syrian,Iraqi, and Jordanian armed forces aside now the Palestinian semi-regular fighters are scoring some impressive albeit minor and symbolic victories.
5. Now imagine that these guys controlled the West Bank
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (12.30.08)
Were it not for the IDF, Hamas would be running the West Bank and most of the country would be within range.
6. The only way to defeat these morons
Harry   (12.30.08)
The only way to defeat these morons is to use Arab mentality. Whether King Hussein Or assad the senior who is dead, Saddam they understood how to crush opposition let alone terrorist who target civilians carpet bomb a whole neighborhood. Peace will come in no time and you will even get back Shalit.
7. #1 Talula not quite the city of Angels
Avi ,   Ramat Gan   (12.30.08)
My dear you are forgetting one fallen angel lives in Kiryat Malachi, our former president Katsav, not exaclty an angel that one !
8. #2 Yeah, Yusuf. We've all heared of your Muslim "victory"...
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (12.30.08)
...resulting in total destruction of its infrastructure and hundreds of deaths. It is amazing how predictible you Muslims all are - when you are beaten to the bone, you claim you are winning, and when nobody teaches you a leasson, you impose aq regime of tyranny and terror on your own citizens and your neighbors. As I saiod many times - I wish you enjoy on-going "victories" like you witnessed in Lebanon and having now in Gaza. And of course there is a solution to rocket attacks - since you are all cowards, the only solution is to relentlessly and decisively hunt you down and feed you rat poison. And guess who will thank us first? The innocent Gazans and Lebanese!
9. #4 Well, we've been thinking of it for a long time...
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (12.30.08)
...and it is clear that it is impossible NOT to destroy Hamas. We will not accept an enemy entity which will never seek peace with Israel. The latest rocket launches onlyincreases our legitimacy to destroy Hamas tenfold as it exposes to the whole world the imminent danger this barabric terrorist organization represents for Israel and its neighbors. And these are by no means "victrories". There is no glory or victory in launching rockets from afar, into civilian areas - these are rather the hallmark of cowardice and fear of confronting a regular army face to face. Instead of 'fighting like men', these Muslim cowards prefer shooting civilians - no Sir, no glory or victory to speak about - only proof of how murderous and trecherous Islam really is! You may claim that we cannot crush Hamas, but this won't prevent us from TRYING - reletlessly, decisively and without mercy. Despite your trials to demoralize us, we will fight. Your two-cent "psychology" and pathetic "military perspectives", Hamas is bleeding rather significantly. Instead of regarding these sporadic rocket launches like "mini-victories", I'd rather label them as THE HYSTERICAL JERKS OF A DYING TERRORIST ENTITY.
10. #4 take a moment to think of this
jj ,   montreal canada   (12.30.08)
Gaza and the pa received $50 billion dollars in aid from around the world. They complain of humanitarian crisis but they have plenty of money for rockets, missiles and other weapons because the want to destroy Israel. When Israel retaliates after 7 or 8 thousand rockest they cry to the world that they are victims. They hide behind the skirts of their women and put their children in harms way (their leaders left their families at home while they hid and the house was hit killing their families). Is this humane?Enough is enough.

tom ,   toronto, canada   (12.30.08)
please stop providing targeting data to the arabs. the fact that a rocket landed somewhere in the negev near beersheba is sufficient, and your readers are mostly interested in whether or not there were casualties. it is also helpful to keep reminding the foreign press of just how many rockets have been fired at israeli civilian targets, and are still being fired on a daily basis. but foreign reporters don't know, or care, where qiryat malachi is, except as red dots on a map of the area. any more detail than that can and will be used to adjust hamas' aim, and is not good for israel.
12. #2 Joe...Did the Nazis still fire rockets after WW2?
BJL ,   usa   (12.30.08)
Yes, there is a solution. It is called winning the war. Which means Hamas must be destroyed, not in half measure, but fully.

Ilana   (12.30.08)
wow, what anamazing ahievement. The Hamas succeeded in trying to kill hundreds of innocent cilvilians. If you look at it that way, then I guess Israel, without trying to even hurt civilians, without even wanting to, has really succeeded. You should feel very proud of your moralistic brothers.
14. #5 Raymond, Washington - D.C.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (12.30.08)
You took the words right out of my mouth. Just imagine & the same goes for the Golan. But even worse would be to hand control over Gaza to that loser, Abbas. Hamas would not disappear but they would use Abbas as a shield to prevent retaliation. After all, we don't want to, ''weaken the moderates'' as the current BS goes. This is my biggest worry & our politicians are unscrupulous enough to contemplate such an action, to ''advance peace'' ..... A move that stupid would of course be attractive to them.
15. Proportionate Response
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.30.08)
I think, the IAF should forget about precision targeting, simply point in the direction of Gaza, close one eye, and let one bunker buster rip to hit whatever for every Qassam, Grad and/or mortar coming out of there. I know that's a lot to ask, but surely there's one a--hat over there, who will get the connection.
16. #4 - yeah, you wrote this garbage on Haaretz too
William ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
And like there, I will tell you here - your facts are purposely distorted. The Egyptians did very much attack Ashkelon and the environs. After they were pushed back, the PLO did it for 19 years, targeted women and children (sounds familiar)? The very fact that Hamas would be applauded for targeting women and children shows the moral bankruptcy of Hamas, Pals, and Islam altogether. But it also fully justifies Israel's actions now - showing Hamas ALWAYS had destruction of Israel as a central tenet.

Ilana   (12.30.08)
And imagine what will happen when or if they start running parts of Europe and the States. Imagine when or if they and Al qaeda sign a treaty of a common goal... Imagining can be scary, you are right. That is why the world should be with us, right?
18. #4 WHAT exactly is their victory? targeting civilians?
A ,   Israel   (12.30.08)
the Israeli airforce takes extreme care not to harm civilians and any injuries are completely unintentional whereas the Hamas ONLY target civilians. come out of your holes man!
