62. #39 - What did Hizullah win?
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (01.01.09)
Apart from the time it kidnapped two soldiers it didn't step even one meter into Israel. Your idea is a strange one. What do you expect Hamas to do? Defeat Israel? Or perhpas your idea of winning is surviving? Mike
63. Lies or misinfo?

67. With all the violence you used in 2006
Ali ,   Lebanon   (01.01.09)
You only managed to increase Hezbollah popularity over Lebanon and Arab world, and Hezbollah grew 3 time stronger than 2006. Well done! Now you are repeating the same with Hamas. I love you guys....who said fighting a stupid enemy is hard?
68. Thomas, Israel is occupying parts of Palestine, Lebanon, and
Ali ,   Lebanon   (01.01.09)
syria...and it is defending THIS occupation... when you have an occupied land, you have the right to resist occupation and that is exactly what Hamas and Hezbollah is doing. You need to read both sides of the story..

74. #10 Oscar - then this would beg the question...
William ,   Israel   (01.01.09)
Why has Hamas and other Jihadists groups gone on special outreach programs to get money and fighters for the war against Israel? Why has Hamas smuggled in money and used it for weapons when their own people are supposedly starving? I have said a prayer for Hamas....and with any luck, more leaders will follow Rayyan to hell.
75. #6 Nazer - wouldn't that just make more of your "civilians"
William ,   Israel   (01.01.09)
true combatants? I'm all for that. Legal-wise, that make sour job much much easier.
76. #49 - Al - War crimes?
William ,   Israel   (01.01.09)
You are so sad to even mention war crimes. Why? Because Israel has a large domestic and intl legal staff that evaluates each operation and ensures it is within the lines of intl law, which it is. Civilian casualties, while regrettable, are admissible if pains are taken to minimize them and the target acquired is of high value. So, far the civilian death is only 16% as opposed to Israeli civilian deaths at 88% of total. Perhaps its your own ignorance, your pro-Pal nature, or simply a person who needs to vent that has you ignore the massive war crimes and human rights abuses of both Hamas and Hizbullah. Intl Law clearly states that NO civilians shall be used as shields nor be the sole target of aggression - rockets in mosques and launched at Sderot pretty much broke the law. To be fair, the UN, in YOUR country (comfortably) should change the law to cover ALL groups and not just State entities - essentially making everyone equal. Until you do that, you are a hypocrite, a terror-supporter, and one of many that doom the Pals to a life of ignorance and despair.
77. Forget Haniyeh, he's a small-time figure head
William ,   Israel   (01.01.09)
Best to go after the big enchiladas - those that run the brigades, those with the bomb-making knowledge, those who manage the communications network. From what I've seen and heard so far, Hamas spent the past 6 months setting up Gaza to mimic Hizbullah's action in Lebanon: a separate comm network, underground bunkers, rockets and launch pads right next to, or inside residential areas, and eavesdropping equipment. Hitting them now just forces them to reveal their hand which only justifies Israel's actions the more. I would continue to hit tunnels, networks, depots, and leaders so hard - they'd need 72 virgins with duct tape to get them back together again.
78. #63 - answer to Mr. Disgusted, read further
William ,   Israel   (01.01.09)
Who said the tunnel from N. Gaza went in the direction of Egypt? No one but you but you call Israel a liar. I find that more amusing than anything else. Look at previous statements by PRC and Hamas who declared they are building tunnels toward the border with Israel for surprise attacks and kidnappings, just as they did with Shalit. The IDF blew one of them up a few weeks ago - remember? What disgusts me are people who speak well before their brain gets engaged. Good Luck.
79. #68 - Ali - your claim is just an excuse for Hizbullah
William ,   Israel   (01.01.09)
to exist. We all now this and so does most people in your country as this was the excuse given so many times when Hizbullah was called to disarm. Though it is known now they are just a controlling arm of Iran, especially after using their weapons against your own people. It's called war and you guys lost. There is nothing occupying about it. When Jordan occupied Jewish Jerusalem, no one sad boo. But guess what - Intl is on Israel's side and your country is a signatory to it. Just because you use proxy terrorists to do your bidding does not justify it at all. No Lebanese land is occupied at all. Shaaba Farms? Call it what you wish but it was in Syrian hands when Israel won it so talk to them. If you're the legal owner, which is still not determined, we can negotiate - but legally we just can't give it to you. And Hiz's claims of N. Israel being Lebanese? Well, that's just bunk and another excuse to exist. And I would challenge Hizbullah's popularity - maybe among Shais, but many Muslims, Christians, and Druze hate this terror group and speak out as such...publicly. call it what you will, but your 88 years of aggression and racist tendencies are being answered...all the time.
80. "attacked a school"
vi   (01.01.09)
Parents are keeping their kids home from school due to the bombings. Who was in the school? Hamas terrorists launching rockets.
81. haniyeh
alexi   (01.01.09)
ishamel, what happened to rayyan is going to happen to you.you are stooge for ahmadinejad and rotten antipersian iran. You are finished and that is a guarantee. Your only hope is to come out with a white flag and tell israel everything. Gazans who brave bombs look at you, a coward hiding underground, saving your life. Gazans spit at you with your islamic shirt and beard.
82. #67 Inflated Ego, Alibaba
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.01.09)
Read the comments Ali. You are neither liked or respected. Please list your accomplishments, inventions, creations? Something original please other than Uga, Uga! And your cries of occupation are pathetic. Just admit you can't tolerate anyone who doesn't agree with your jihad, the desire to control and conquer. You are in good company with Iran and Hamas but apparently not the only jihad in town.
83. #49 - do you think that women and children are more
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (01.01.09)
important than men? Why? And please don't tell me stuff like 'oh the kids had their whole life in ahead of them". It would be very easy to argue that a person of twenty is worth more that one of 6 months because of the time and effort that's been invested in him or her. Women more important than men? One could argue that all human life is equal of course. And don't forget that Israel was kind enough to call and ask them to leave the house. Which other country would do that? Mike
84. #63, the Gaza Strip is less than 20 miles long
Danny   (01.01.09)
how exactly did his house get to be "10s of miles" from the border with Egypt? If you are going to lie i guess you might as well make them whoppers right?

88. Israel/Hamas, both use terrorist tactics
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (01.01.09)
A one ton bomb on a home in densely populated Jabalya camp blows a Hamas leader to pieces, but along with him around 10 others, among whom are innocent children. Obviously the presence of these children did not prevent Israel from throwing the bomb. This is nothing new of course, just another illustration that Israel's tactics are as terrorist as Hamas uses.
