This I sent to Haaretz in response to an article about a group of "anarchists" blocking an IDF base in protest for the disproportionate use of force by Israel in Gaza. Most will not pity the Palestinian men and certainly not Hamas men. But I do pity their children and also their women. So should all Israeli's and Jews! What is being done to protect the children and care for them as they suffer without knowing why they are suffering?

Who in the first place chose Hamas for govening Gaza? - people in Gaza. I understant that many Palestinians live under the poverty there, but do you really believe that Hamas makes any political / economical / social efforts what so ever to gain sustainabilities there? The reason why they stay as a terrorist group and cannot have international political voice is the clear fact that they do not make proper efforts to build a legitimate state, collaborating with their own people, and with their neighboring countries. Anyways, to my Japanese eyes, I don't know what Hamas wants, practically speaking - to provide better life to their people?
