Israel: Gaza op to continue in spite of UN    Roni Sofer
1. It's a war against Terror.
This is a war against Terror, inhumanity and savagery. THE UN should in fact be all the way in support of Israel's attempt to eradicate the cancer of the Hamas terrorists from Gaza. Israel IS NOT attacking Gaza or the People of Gaza. Israel's war is a war against the Hamas, one of the most dangerous Terrorist Organisations our Planet has ever seen. Terrorists like Hamas, Hizbollah and their Pay masters the Iranian mullahs, the tyrants of Tehran, MUST BE Eradicated for our World's future and peace. The whole World must be on Israel's side and be grateful for their anti-Terrorism war.

2. not a war against terror.
Few things are as absurd as a "war" against an idea. You cannot kill terror. You CAN however, kill a terrorist. This is a war against Hamas. Calling it anything else only deflects responsibility. It is the members of Hamas that are firing rockets, not some anthropomorphic personalization of an ideal. If an angry militant killed *your* son, would you stand there and tell me that "anger" killed your child as if there were no militants involved? Rockets and bullets do not fly by themselves, HOLD THE PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE and please stop moving responsibility to some nebulous unassailable concept. The "war" on drugs failed. The "war" on poverty failed. Any "war" on *any* ideal will ALWAYS fail, including "terrror" You cannot kill an idea, thought, feeling. People kill PEOPLE, end of story, STOP mitigating responsibility. OKTHANKSBYE

3. It IS a war against terror.
Be eliminating those who advocate and practice the evil "ideas" of Terrorism , as Hamas terrorists are doing for years, you are fighting the very existence of Terror. As for "anthropomorphic personification" of terror...Well...those anthropomorphic monsters, those savages, the Hamas terrorists, and their fellow Islamists terrorists every where they live, have made terrorism the ultimate enemy of humanity today! Ask the people of Mumbai....Buenos Aires, New York....London.....Jakarta.....Bali....Nairobi.....Beslam.....Madrid....and in many other countries where their abominable presence endangers the every day lives of innocent citizens.

4. It's about time.
I hope the operation will be a success. Israel has suffered the depredations of Hamas attacks for too long. I find it absurd that anyone would expect Israeli patience with such behavior from Hamas to last forever. What disturbs me is that news reports from other organizations focus on how many civilians were killed in attacks. Israel, to my knowledge, has been taking severe pains to minimize harm to civilians in its actions against Hamas, whereas Hamas deliberately targets civilians in its own attacks, then accuses Israel of doing the same when civilians get caught in attacks meant for non-civilian targets... but I am not fooled, and hope others will not be. May 2009 be the year that Hamas is put to an end, so that the people of both Gaza and Israel can have more peaceful lives.

6. even leftists cant realisticly condem the US on this one
The longer the war continues the more damage is done to the terrorists and it allows Israel to play hardball when the UN starts working on realistic resolutions. So far all we have had is something dreamed up by Libiya which was never going to pass because it was one sided in Hamas favour and designed only to make trouble just gives Gadaffi a chance to remind everybody he is there and to put him into a good light. I think Bush is in favour of whats going on right now like most arab governments are but nobody can say it publicly because they all want to see the end of Hamas and non of the polticians Abbas included gives a dam about the Gazans just political power. In Lebanon Olmert screwed up but Bush delayed the UN calls for a ceasefire to give him time to finish off Hizbullah. This time it actualy looks like we are achiveing something so he also wants to see a badly damaged Hamas in no position to try dicate terms and also hoping that it will allow Fatah to take back Gaza. Lets just hope Livni doesn't screw up and give us another 1701 which she is still proud of rather than a victory.

7. Thank you dady Bush
He is insisting not to do anything good before he leave . the same responce he did in 2006 during the Lebanon's war and he became very disappointed from the result ofd the war .... hope this time too .... The Iraki jurnalist was right .

8. It's much more simple
It's war between occupiers and resistance .... nothing else
(01.04.09)
9. The Monster Israel
Do Israel and USA think they are above International law?? Livni says they will ignore the umpire's decision! Israel is just making the world hate it more-the revenge that Israel will suffer, and jews around the world, will be much bigger than the hollocaust that you are inflicting on 1.5 million Pallestinian prisoners. Shame Israel- you pigs!!

11. Simple &inescapable reasoning on IDF's hopeless war!
First start thinking how you left Gaza years ago under Barak's rule, Would Israel leave Gaza if there were (or Barak Believed there was ) slightest possibility to achieve a land operation against then newly thriving Hamas? No? Barak left Gaza because it is impossible to maintain a footing in Gaza. Barak knew defeat coming and left Gaza years ago. Now Hamas not only rooted deep in Gaza but thriving deep in other palestinian regions and challenging for all pallestinian leadership, Hamas get Iranian support including arms and training, Hamas ruled Gaza for years and established there with all war preparations, Hamas was prepared and challenging IDF for a land operation long ago shied away by Barak, Now Barak is again in decision making and do you think Barak can defeat Hamas? I will not answer you should reason and reach a conculsion yourself.

12. 35 Palestinians killed by Hamas "to ensure they don't help I
35 Palestinians killed by Hamas, 75 shot in legs in the past week "to ensure they don't help Israel."
Where is the UN?   (01.04.09)
13. To #1 & #2: You are both right.
However,#2 ben lsh is right!. You can kill people but you cannot kill an ideology, even one as warped and sick as Islamic Fundamentalism. The only way to win a war against terror is to eradicate the root cause of it. In our case it would be to give up our land to the Arabs and go back to the Concentration Camps. In the case of global terror the planet would have to acquiesce to surrendering its values, religion and freedom to Islamic Fundamentalism. The problem is that most of the world has not recognized the danger which is on its door step. So, the bottom line is that terror is here to stay, whether it be here, in Europe, the UK or the USA. In our case we will always be to blame because most of the world seems to agree with Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran that we do not have the right to exist. Their supporters, CNN, SkyNews, Annie Lennos, George Galloway, Ken Livingston and other worthies relish in seeing the dead bodies paraded by the TV media and use it to fuel the fire of anti-Semtism. As for the USA's support, I am not holding my breath as I remember the "sell out" of UN Resolution 1701 which basically is the cause of the War Against Hamas. The UN failed to disarm Hezbollah who have armed Hamas and moved the fight to the south.

15. the truth is....
the truth is that all the arab nations and the militants wherever they are : have been fighting against Israel through deliberately fueling terrorism in this area and by refusing to resettle the gazans as refugees long ago-instead creating the perfect frustration among them to fuel global terrorism. Gaza has become a convenient front for continuing the war against Israel. this way they thought: they can hit us and we can't hit back -because they are just a "poor and innocent " people, while we are a full fledged country! So now that Israel caught onto the game and cannot worry what our dear international "friends" think- we do hit back, and the truth is-by hitting back, we are really hitting all those enemy Arab countries and militant groups who have been fighting behind the skirts of the gazan populaton - supplying them with sophisticated weaponry to do the dirty work. and all the while, keeping them hungry and frustrated enough to gladly do the job. And so they -the U.N. are furious and so are the Arab- dominated Paris and London. It is no wonder they protest-.we have the audacity to defend ourselves-not just against the Gazans, but against all those militant countries and individuals who are really fighting through them. As a little girl in the 1950's-I heard them declare they will drive us [the Israeli's ] into the sea. nothing has changed, only the players.
