The goal of HAMAS is to kill as many women and children, on either side. For Hamas - civilian deaths in Israel are great! But civilian death in Gaza? Even better!!! That's why they shoot from schools, hospitals, and refugee camps. Hamas wants to create another Kana episode. The PR gains would be awesome. Look at your brothers in the West Bank. Why are they not under attack? Why are they living well? Maybe because they didn't fire at us? Maybe because they didn't elect Hamas to be in power? You have no one else to blame for your misery, other than Hamas.

Sean War is an extension of politics and the success or failure of the war is not about how many buildinings you can destroy during the war its how you deal with the political end. In Lebanon we were not loose militarily but we didnt wint it either, if we had kept fighting longer once we got the tactcs right we could have won. Instead we went for the ceasefire based on Livnis resiotion 1701which she is still proud of negoting. We have the military tactics right in Gaza but then if we get the political tactic wrong we will have spent billios, lost 1 soilder and others injured for a worthless solution. Hamas won't agree to the terms of a ceasefire like this but we can't let them dictate terms as they did last time, if your going to get into a war then make sure your willing to finish it or else your going to end up looking very stupid. We can either say we are not interested in what you have to say to the Europeans & UN or we can play this thing out to the end which means beating Hamas till they need a ceasefire so badly as long as they can save face in some way they will agree to terms dictated by us.
39. A GOOD IDEA BUT NOT A SOLUTION
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (01.05.09)
Let's not forget Lebanon. UNIFIL forces were increased to at least 15,000 after the 2006 war, and the Lebanese Army deployed an additional 15,000 soldiers in the south. Yet just a couple weeks ago the Lebanese Army found 8 rockets aimed at Israel with a timer set to launch them. (However, that they should "just happen" to find the rockets before launch makes the affair seem a bit suspicious.) An international force in Gaza will probably not be able to stop all rocket attacks anymore than 30,000 troops in Lebanon could stop attacks there, and unless Israel stops West Bank arrest raids that kill people we may be sure that there will be retaliatory rockets. What will be stopped is Israel's ability to fire rockets into Gaza to "deter" attacks and to assassinate members and leaders of the militant groups. This Israel will not accept.
