if israel has enough determination to pursue this until the dust settles, the rockets stop, hamas is out of power and the situation is much improved, israel should sue the head of this commission in international court for libel, slander and incitement, which is exactly what this statement, which was made without any basis in evidence or reality, is. the number of civilian casualties does not equate to 'war crimes', and would not hold up in any international court that was based on justice. the allies in world war 2 killed many civilians. the americans/nato when they bombed yugoslavia to 'liberate' kosovo killed many civilians. the issue of war crimes is based on intent. proportionality is not based on whether your force is proportional to the enemy, it is based on whether your force is proportional to the objective (ie ending rocket fire). however, it is quite clear that intentionally firing 3000 rockets over the last 2 years at civilians with the aim of killing anybody who they landed on is a war crime. there are families that can be brought into court as witnesses who have dead and injured from these rockets, and people whose lives have been changed by years of constant terror. i would also recommend that alan dershovitz sue these people if the israeli government does not. this is nothing but libel.
