The IDF must complete the destruction of the tunnels and not be stopped by a truce. However, the sole objective of Hamas and its associates is to completely destroy Israel. They feel that no "foreigners" are entitled to be on so called holy Muslim land. Therefore not only is a long term sustainable truce necessary, a complete mind shift is needed by extremists in Gaza and, for that matter, the rest of the world to know and understand that Israel is here to stay. Is this an elusive dream or is it possible for the extremists and not so extremists to accept Israel? - the question begs to be asked.

Why was nothing noticed? Of course it was noticed . You cannot fail to notice the quantities , storage and movement of weapons as large as that had been fired at Israel. You cannot fail to notice the preparations of tunnels , which were not built for the protection of innocent civilians but for the transport and smuggling of weapons. What is amazing is that the worlds do gooders do not question why no protection was built for the locals ,when such costly preparations for aggressive war were obviously made by Hamas.
