1. Olnert do not chicken out
Mervyn ,   San Diego   (01.08.09)
Olmert, Barack & Livni, be strong do not give into world pressure. Listen to the IDF, make Hamas beg for mercy!
2. Operation must continue
Brod ,   USA   (01.08.09)
to finish the Hamas cancer. Instead of feeding, educating, and providing jobs for its people, Hamas has spent billions of dollars buying rockets and other high tech weaponry to wage war against Israel. Their goal is the destruction of Israel which they clearly spell out in their Charter. It is therefore imperative that Israel finishes the job of destroying Hamas. Israel should not be deterred by external interferences and distractions to save Hamas. Hamas must be eliminated for the good of the region and the world.
3. I could not agree more with this IDF statement.
Mike Sless ,   Israel   (01.08.09)
If Livni and her friends vote for a truce with a terror organization when we have the chance to crush them, I will never vote for her.

5. Listen to your military experts for a change
carly ,   chicago   (01.08.09)
Place your political aspirations aside for a moment and adopt decisions that are best for the country and the people you are supposedly representing!
6. Israel must FINISH off Hamas - at ALL costs.
Mitul Nachshim ,   TA, ISRAEL   (01.08.09)
In order to justify everything that has been done in Gaza, Israel must finish the job. Which means that Hamas must be smashed from power. "A half done mission is WORSE than a failed one." Listen to army experts, they know much more than egotistical politicians.
7. Look Eastward Israel For the Future
Dav Lev ,   Burbank, CaUSA   (01.08.09)
W/O Egypt, Syria cannot wage war. W/O Iran, Hamas and Hez cannot defeat Israel. W/O Hez, Hamas cannot wage war seriously. W/O Hamas, Hez is stymied, brovado and all. Simple deduction: Hez needs Hamas. So, Israel, destroy Hamas while you have the chance. This is a junction in your short life. The Arabs will continue on...Israel's very existence is threatened. Don't trust the gentiles for your security. New gov't in France, Britain, Turkey, Egypt (and the US), can change things overnight. Look Eastward to Iran and Iraq for the real future.
8. Israel's Military Brass Is Right
Not Jewish ,   USA   (01.08.09)
hamas must be finished off to the point they are no longer a viable force. We Americans owe the Jews of Israel our support and gradtitude for this op. The enemies of Israel are our enemies too.
9. Israel should coninue by all means, until Hamas is
Alexa   (01.08.09)
completely defeated. There is no other way if we want to survive and stop the rockets.
10. KhK to IDF
Gideon Reader   (01.08.09)
Let the shooters shoot. Let the Polititurds meet and lunch. Let the UK/UN/EU finish their personal "John time"
11. The Gaza operation
Miriam ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (01.08.09)
To Mr.Olmert and the rest of our leaders I say thus: Just because the IDF has managed very well so far,the thought of abandoning and accepting a ceasefire would be a foolish mistake. In spite of the pounding against Hamas so far, they are still attacking our cities with daily rockets.ergo, the job is not complete as yet.And if I may say so, it would be an insult to the IDF soldiers that would have died in vain. Keep up the good work until Hamas cries UNCLE,and not before. Wishing our boys good luck and may they keep safe AMEN
12. wake up olmert
logic ,   usa   (01.08.09)
dont do the same garbage you did in the Lebanon war. let the troops on the ground decide what is best for a change. you have no clue how to run a military. a good leader knows how to listen. open your ears. or do you want to be ashamed even more after this failure? there is a reason you are leaving office. wake up.
13. A decision has to be made either way
shosh ,   haifa   (01.08.09)
all this waivering is starting to look like leb 2006. I would prefer we didnt go in i have a soldier in the army, but if we are going to go in (g-d help us) then we should stop procrastinating.
14. Truce
Marilyn ,   USA   (01.08.09)
Basically war only changes things in the short term, however can have negative long term effects. For the middle east, my vision would be for the two to be able to get along well enough and there would be safety for all. Radicals would go dormant. There somehow has to be a strong enough force of love to fuel this, cause only love can conquer hate. It is in this that if there were a decent enough truce I'd take it.
15. iran in lebanon
mohson   (01.08.09)
Larijani of the illegal rotten regime of shiite infidels is in lebanon. larijani better not start something in isreal's northern border. Israelis are so angry, that if they are provioked a lot more, they will let everything out on iran.son, the illegal regime of iran will cease to exist and larijani will be executed for war crimes.
16. finish the job , because no matter what Israel does
rachel ,   usa   (01.08.09)
the world will be against it . Israel is damned if they do , damned if they don't ....So they might as well do what they need to do to keep themselves safe ....
17. truce 2
Marilyn ,   USA   (01.08.09)
One last thing, my advice for a truce only is only if done before Obama gets into office, after that I think things get too complicated.
18. To Shosh in haifa
Miriam ,   Tel Aviv   (01.08.09)
Shosh As I said in my other post,to stop now would be tantamount to the time of the 2nd Lebanon war.Not that we did not do too badly, conversely not up to the high standard our IDF is so well known for. Now is the time for saner minds and i wish no further prevarication or procrastination. To our Israeli leaders:Listen to the IDF commanders and do not put them in jeopardy by listening to the likes of foreign countries who keep meddling in our affars while they act like armchair generals all cosy and comfy. We are a sovereign country and need not either listen or accept their empty rhetoric. They do not have do not have daily rockets lobbed at them for nigh on 8 years.. The job has begun and must be completed ano ifs or buts. We now hear up north Hassan making noises and forget they really, really lost the battle. One thing I cannot understand is the fact throughout the whole wide world and the many countries suffering from dreadful dictatorships and the killings of millions, why is it that these so-called Pals are deemed to be extremely SPECIAL? To say i am amzed would be an understatement. Nuff said
