31. Israel must not succumb to Western weakness
USA   (01.09.09)
If Israel stands up to the West' appeasement and weaknes for once the West will be exposed as being unable to combat muslim terror which will not stop but will intensify.
32. UN/Red Crescent Ambulances Used as WEAPONS of WAR
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (01.09.09)
Terrorists are sometimes the ambulance drivers. Shots have been fired from Red Crescent ambulances. Red Crescent ambulances have been frequently used to transport guns, bombs and explosive belts. Explosive belts have been found under the stretchers of sick children. A U.N. ambulance, owned and operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), was used by armed terrorists in Gaza as getaway transportation after murdering six Israeli soldiers in Gaza City on May 11, 2004.
33. Germany is backing Israel
Efroim ,   Washington DC   (01.09.09)
"I wish that Israel had such friends as Chancellor Merkel throughout the world", said Knobloch. She said Hamas "hides behind the population on the Gaza Strip, misuses the civilian population, including children, as human shields, and in that way worsens the situation for the population of the Gaza Strip. This fact is unfortunately too often ignored in the public debate."
34. What about Sri Lanka?
Ezra ,   World   (01.09.09)
No security council resolutions. No media concern about civilian casualties. Hypocrites!
35. When hamas is annihilated then there will be a ceasefire
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (01.09.09)
36. Merkel doesn't want you back in Germanyso she'll say anythin
lydia ,   Brisbane   (01.09.09)
Your dilemma is really with the Germans not with the Arabs. Hitler wasn't Arab, jewish yes but not Arab. Let Merkel welcome you back, give you Bavaria but leave the Arabs out of it
37. #9 Looking forward to the new Ambassador Dr. Susan Rice
lydia ,   Brisbane   (01.09.09)
Obama/'s new Ambassador to the UN Dr. Rice will be exhilarating. Like a breath of fresh air, no more free pass, no more veto for Israel. Israel will have to obey UN resolutions or else. Oh Happy Days....
38. DONT ACCEPT THE CEASEFIRE
Judith ,   Brookly, NY   (01.09.09)
This cease fire is simply this... Israel- Cease to exist and Hamas continue firing... Israel should just rescind its UN membership- its better to be a terrorist organization than a democratic Western country that has the privilege of being a "member state"... DONT ACCEPT. iTS A WASTE OF TIME AND RESOURCES. IDF WE GOT THIS FAR, DONT STOP BEFORE THE ENTIRE MISSION IS DONE!
39. The states demanding that Israel adhere to certain moral ...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.09.09)
The states demanding that Israel adhere to certain moral standards do not even dream of asking the same of her enemies. Why do the countries of the world and global media outlets obsessively engage in strict criticism that is only directed at Israel? After all, there is not even one country out there that is required to adhere to the moral criteria which the world demands of us – of us of all people, the ones who as opposed to the rest of the world face threats of extermination. Israel had no choice but to attack Hamas as explained at : http://xrl.us/bea2zx
40. Historical consciousness is necessary in order to fathom ...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.09.09)
Historical consciousness is necessary in order to fathom what Hamas is doing. The symbols that Hamas uses, from the Qur'an, from the Hadith, and from later Christian anti-Jewish literature, all point towards a continuation of the original jihad. This is hard for Westerners to understand, but this is what the fight means to Hamas. They are completing the work that Muhammad started. It is not something about which they can compromise. And international condemnation of Israel only gives it more power. More about the spirit of Jihad at : http://xrl.us/bebdoa
41. What about Gilad shalit..Now is the time to get him released
Asher ,   Ny,USA   (01.09.09)

doug ,   usa   (01.09.09)

45. USA YOU ARE A BUNCH OF TRAITORS. WE WILL REMEMBER
(01.09.09)
46. Where IS Gilad Schalit?
Stephanie ,   Israel   (01.09.09)
47. It's always good and it pays off to use
di   (01.09.09)
women and children as human shields and civilians as war fodder. It's always good to launch rockets from schools and residential houses. All these hyenous acts from the part of Hamas will pay off at the United Nations because the western powers will give in to them and naturally, condemn and weaken Israel. What an imoral bunch ! With such friends who the hell needs enemies !
48. Full Time Chaps
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (01.09.09)
800 versus 10 Thats even better than 2006. Congratulations the country must be in raptures. Hang on theres still another 100 children dying under the rubble. Maybe you could get to the magical 1000.
49. IT IS SIMPLE - just read!
Lednah ,   Europe   (01.09.09)
Israelis: Just create People Organization for Liberation of Gaza from Hamas (POLGH) or anything like this and let them start shooting rockets to Gaza. Assign someone to be a speaker and let him loose to travel non-stop around the world giving interviews and asking for internation help to stop the HAMAS ocupation of Gaza. When you kill someone in Gaza multiply it x4 and call them all children, then stage some pictures and blame HAMAS for it. After all people of Gaza have the right of resistance, right? Oh, forget it - you don't have the guts for it...
50. The UN is the spokesperson for hamas and hizbollah
dave ,   uk   (01.09.09)
Why do they make hamas seem like the good guys and Israel the bad guy??
51. The UN, friend of terrorism
Douglas Miller ,   Detroit, USA   (01.09.09)
It is sad and frightening that the UN has become a puppet of the Arab/ Islamic regimes and a friend to terrorism. This is an extremely bad deal which should be rejected for clearly stated reasons. Not only doesn't it name Hamas as the cause of the fighting it doesn't even name the terrorist group as one of the combatants. It doesn't specifically call for an end to terrorism, or the arming of terrorists. It doesn't mention Hamas' patron, Iran who has supplied much of the money, weapons and training. And there is no mention of Gilad Shalit who was kidnapped by Hamas and lingers in a dungeon if they haven't killed him. This outrageous resolution is purely an attempt to protect the mass murdering, hatemongering thugs of Hamas. The UN has no honor, integrity or honesty. Israel should tell them no!!!
52. united nobodies
al ,   sd,usa   (01.09.09)
MUCK THE U.N AND THE U.S.YOU WORTHLESS COWARDS. GO ISRAEL. OBLITERATE THE SCUM. NO PRISONERS. NO PITY.
53. Let's see if Hamas abides by the cease-fire?
redbourn ,   Tel Aviv   (01.09.09)
Hamas has made it quite clear that its terms will have to be met before it accepts a cease-fire which is excellent news because they will never be met. Since the UN resolution calls for a system to stop smuggling that is not even on the horizon the whole resolution is in reality quite meaningless. Mike
54. UN backed by world issues new libels..........
Lior ,   Israel   (01.09.09)
Proof not a word about Gilad Shalit our beloved son in final draft. Nothing serious condemning the virulent hate which germinates like a vicious weed from Hamas which if not stopped for good will ultimately destroy us. Only extremely vague watered down double speak concerning our safety, all bereft of felling. All the rest bold faced lies. ......and tell me why did U.S not Veto? why? Take a good hard look at that one. This tells where Israel really stands with it's only supposed ally. Why nothing about Mubarak who has partnered in the flow of weapons from Egypt to Gaza??? This if one cares to speak the truth makes the regime of Mubarak who did little if anything to stop it terrorists themselves. What the UN and partners did was keep Hamas alive for another day while telling the world, TERROR PAYS. A sad day indeed.
55. to 5 I'ts your fault not your wife .. see what you did wrong
