1. Only by force they'll learn to stop harboring terrorists
Grigorius   (01.10.09)
I think we should end the ground operation after we widen the Philadelphy corridor so they'll stop digging. Then we'll give them all the goods they need but warn them that we'll retaliate for every rocket with tank shelling of the launch area. We won't even check whether it's a UN school or a hospital, we'll just bomb the location after 60 seconds. It's 45 more seconds than Sderot residents have to flee. Human shields usage should be turned to non-profitable for the terrorists and the civilians that help them hide.
2. a country to respect
ron ,   montreal CANADA   (01.10.09)
WHAT A COUNTRY! GOTTA LOVE IT. TINY IN SIZE, TREMENDOUS IN POWER AND GOD HELPS YOU IF YOU SCREW WITH THEM.
3. to IDF
Jean-Paul   (01.10.09)
Technically - as long as Hamas rockets hit territory of Israel you have right to response!
4. #1
(01.10.09)
So what the problem for Hamas to fire the rockets without taking risk from uninhabited places using remote controls or clock-works?
5. Leaflets...
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem -ISRAEL   (01.10.09)
Israel dropped leaflets among civilians in the 1982 invasion of Lebanon,in the 2006 Israel-HIZBULLAH war, and now in the 2009 Palestinian-Israeli war as a means of psychological war meant to scare non combatants and deter them from cooperating with militants. But when you deprive them of everything they get simply left with nothing but despair and consequently they would rather die or get killed resisting you rather than surrendering to you.Your tactics simply backfire...
6. To #5: Well, OK!
M. Hartley ,   Atlantan, US   (01.10.09)
7. #5 that kind of thinking is counter-productive
usa   (01.10.09)
Do you believe that children can make the choice about wanting to "get killed resisting?" It's up to their parents to protect them in whatever way possible. It just doesn't seem reasonable to expect citizens to stand and fight against an army while the people they elected hide in bunkers. The "resistance" should be directed toward these Hamas criminals who, through their belligerence and indifference, have put their citizens into this predicament.
8. Go israel!
(01.10.09)
we love you.
9. My suggestion:
(01.10.09)
1 - two weeks oneside ceasefire with full withdrawal of all forces 2 - full control over Philadelphi Route in close cooperation of Egyptians 3 - because Hamas has hudreds shahids that are ready to explode - full closing of all crossings for 20 years(one generation with suisidal tendencies and motivation) 4 - if during 2-weeks of ceasefire Hamas continue to fire rockets and mortars - we start new operation!
10. ABDEL KARIM #5
KAPARA AL HAISMUK ,   LEBANON   (01.10.09)
It is a waste of paper....no muslim country ever gave a warning to israeli civilians .... well I guess the israeli civilians already know that the muslims are targeting them ....so why do the jews give warnings to palestinian civilians....what do you think you are ...better than muslims?
11. #5 Abdel
Marcel ,   Florida   (01.10.09)
Hamas has built a bed of hell and misery for tHe people of Gaza. The people of Gaza should despair for the fatal, fateful choice they made. It's easier to blame Gaza than the forces of jihad who only bring despair and misery to the lives of their own people.
12. -#10- the answer
sanna ,   sweden   (01.10.09)
YES they are! They love life, even yours! They have no exception (like muslims) who you might kill or not - its only "You shalt not kill" - so of course, they try to awoid it if it´s possible. I belive in the same GOD as the jews, even if I also belive in Yeshua/Jesus, that´s why I love them because our GOD chosed them, and gave them Israel for ever.
13. #7...Exactly
Malone ,   Hfx   (01.10.09)
Why should civilians take all the blows while their leaders hide. These are the "leaders" that are always talking about "martyrs",yet they are safe under ground. Talk about hypocrasy.
14. Shocking in it's Stupidity
Gideon Reader   (01.10.09)
I clearly understand why you do not list any name for attribution. If I came up with an bulleted series of idea as patently stupid as those you present, I would be loathe to put my name to it, as well. Dumb defensively. Dumb militarily. Dumb diplomatically. Dumb economically. Dumb socially. and of no particular benefit on ANY level, while endangering everyone involved. Least of which will be the poor schmucks of Gazans stuck as human shields by the Hamasniks they voted in. Amazing in it's breadth of foolishness. "We start a new operation?' Stunning.
15. jaballiya
mohson   (01.10.09)
Haiyeh is from jabaliyah. Eliminate as much as possible from here. Take his hamas relatives into custody or eliminate them. Send arab soldiers dresses as civilians into hospitals and screen all the doctors and nurses. Screen Dr. gilbert of Norway who may be involved in hiding hamas there.Get gazans to locate tunnels entrances and exits and have them blow them up.Start an insurrection in the town centres.
16. Screen to keep out flies?
Gideon Reader   (01.10.09)
#15 Mohson, Geeeze fella. This is a war, not a fight for distribution territory of Mexican or Colombian Drug Cartels. What is "screen?" I am aware that not everyone has a background in military or related subjects, but please take a small amount of time and think out what the suggestions you offer have to do with reality and practicality. What and How do you "screen" a Norweigan Physican? How do you "screen" all of the medical personnel in the facilities in Gaza? What it it that you do? Blood or urine test? Check for acne? Testostorone levels? What do you do to "screen? "What is entailed in that? Do you NOT think if the IDF had the location of the ingress and egrees points of tunnels that they would not be collapsed? "Start an insurection?" Before or after lunch?
17. The warning given to the Gazans
Miriam ,   T.A Isr'   (01.10.09)
To everyone here:Has any country who fought wars,be it small or large, ever given notice to their populations advancendly to vacate their homes before an imminent attack? That I am puzzled would be an understatement.I know how some will interpret what I am saying, because of the extreme size and the dencity of the place,I guess. But size in this instance matters not. However,Israel being the only democratic and humanistic country in the whole ME is something I am very proud of.Having said this,I still maintain no notice should be given.Fot the simple reason where can the population relocate? Converesely, they the who;e population is in cahoots with the terror entity called Ham-Ass ! Therein is the stumbling block..
18. eh...
eric ,   dublin   (01.10.09)
where exactly are the gazan residents supposed to run to? brave IDF warriors indeed
19. #5Next time gazans vote in a govt.,they should require them
2 be in the front ,   lines, not in holes!!   (01.10.09)
20. Ireland sounds nice in the spring.
Gideon Reader   (01.10.09)
How about Ireland? Sounds like they would be quite happy there. A welcomed addition I am sure. Just think, a nice God fearing and productive community that would meld beautifully with the Catholic Majority. You could burn British flags together. Swap explosive manufacturing device tips. Chat about everyone you mutually hate. That'ed be nice, would'nt it?
21. ERIC 18
CRAIG ,   USA   (01.10.09)
I KNOW ERIC YOU WOULD RATHER SEE THE JEWS HIDE AND BITE THERE NAILS LIKE YOUR GRANDFATER TOL;D YOU THEY DO .SORRY ABOUT THAT SHIT YOU ARE NEVER GOUNG TO SEE THE ISRAELI MARCH INTO THE CAMPS EVER AGAIN . BY THE WAY READ ABOUT THE 67 AND 73 WAR WHEN THE IDF DEFEATED HALF A DOZEN ARAB STANDING ARMYS
22. Civilian casualties.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.11.09)
Israel has cancelled many military operations because of its concern with civilian casualties. But should civilian losses occur despite the best efforts of Israel to avoid them, it is ultimately not Israel's responsibility. As political philosopher Michael Walzer noted in 2006: "When Palestinian militants launch rocket attacks from civilian areas, they are themselves responsible - and no one else is - for the civilian deaths caused by Israeli counterfire."
