31. Mr Moon
Michael ,   New York, USA   (01.13.09)
Mr. Moon should just go to the moon.. Where in the hell does the UN and the Sec General of a totally bankrupt and ineffectual organization get off telling Israel what to do? Where was Mr. Moon and the UN when Hamas was lobbing rockets into Israel and terrorizing, maiming and killing civilians? In fact where was the rest of the "civilized" world? Israel should and finally is doing what Israel needs to do, the rest of the world be damned.
32. 5 Ibrahim: Russia needs to admit to the world that the break
Rivkah   (01.13.09)
up of the "former Soviet Republics" was a charade to get more money from the West. If they had really broken up, they would all have separate militaries. Georgia and Ukraine, etc. are still part of Russia even though the people there swallowed the big lie. The West told Russia when the former Soviet Republics were given more freedoms that the West would not put military bases and missiles in countries that border Russia. That promise was broken and Russia is outraged because the Russian people want security more than prosperity. They make many sacrifices to have a strong military to protect them from invaders like Napoleon and Hitler. Sadly, the Bible says Russia will lead a Muslim coalition against Israel. God will destroy most of those forces with an earthquake in Israel and a plague that melts the eyes. That could be nuclear or sulfuric acid rain. Russia should get on the side of the Lord because having the Lord for an enemy is a losing policy. God wins. He never loses in the long run. He made the world and the universe and He can destroy any part of it at will.
33. TELL MOON TO SHUT UP AT ONCE!!!!
Amenophis ,   canada   (01.13.09)
Why does anyone even listen to this pacifist? Ignore it once and for all!
34. Rikvah (to bind) in Ivrit but in Latin (to bind) Ligare
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (01.13.09)
originates from The fasces lictoriae ("bundles of the lictors") symbolised power and authority (imperium) in ancient Rome. The fasces in the United States is displayed In the Oval Office, above the door leading to the exterior walkway, and above the corresponding door on the opposite wall, which leads to the President's private office. The ancient Romans never fully understood nor could emotionally cope with the "chosen people" thing. Jesus was as real as Ben Hur and as Jewish as the "noble wolf". We see through Evangelical Dominionist sophistry. Sorry Rikvah
35. Where?
Sammy ,   TelAviv   (01.13.09)
Too many people are dying where? Darfur? Rwanda? Serbia? Georgia? And that's just for starters. B-G was so right, Um-Schmum.
36. Not until the rockets cease, Shalit is home, HAMAS Destroyed
meir elazar   (01.13.09)
at the high cost to HAMAS hierarchy, operatives, infrastructure, family, and supporters (age and gender irrelevant)
37. I WOULD HIRE Ban Ki-moon to run
Simha ,   Toronto, CANADA   (01.13.09)
a mouse trap. Pay him by the piece... A GREAT LOOSER. CAN'T HIT A NAIL WITH BULDOZER!
38. Hey Ban!!!..Too many have died...IN DARFUR!
dr. dave ,   nyc   (01.13.09)
These people are such hypocrites. 300,000 innocent people die in Darfur and not a peep. Gazans, who elected Hamas, die because of their chosen and elected government and the world goes insane. SMASH HAMAS!
39. a quick end to fighting means they will have died in vain
zionist forever   (01.13.09)
These people have died so the rocket attacks against Israel can be stopped and the IDF has done a good job so far although there is still more to do. If we accept a quick badly thought out political solution which will allow Hamas to rearm and carry on their terror when they feel strong enough again then what will have been the point of the war? So we could bring a quick end to the fighting all the goals will have been undone so all the inocents who died on both sides will have died for nothing.
40. when will honourable Ban-Ki-Moon investigate Sri Lanka?
Rami ,   London   (01.13.09)
One hundred thousand people have disappeared - where are they? has the UN sent a commission to investigate the various contradictory claims? if they were transported, did each person of the 100,000 survive intact? how many were snuffed out along the way on the deathmarch? Enquiring minds want to know and we know Mr. Moon will want to thoroughly research this human rights abuse in Sri Lanka.
41. Concerned about Darfur? Covering up for what?
Zyriab ,   MontrĂ©al   (01.13.09)
Really, All of you here posting that you are concerned about deaths in Darfur, Rwanda, Georgia...tyring to convince us with what ? That you are all very sensitive & caring ! ? Just another way to cover up the unnecessary killing of civilians in Gaza!
42. what people don't understand
ecr   (01.13.09)
is that HaShem protects the Jewish people and that is why we have far fewer fatalities than they do. With all the rockets they have fired, it's only the hand of G-d that there haven't been enormous amounts of casualties in Israel.
43. Dear Mr. Moon
oferdesade ,   israel   (01.13.09)
Dear Mr. Moon, Although it is your contention that "too many have died", I would simply offer that not enough Jews have died - as I am sure your organization would agree. In order to rectify this, I would suggest the following: 1. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a department (MASHAV) whose sole purpose since the establishment of the state has been to assist other countries. Perhaps an training program whereby Israel could train their rocket scientists, or an exchange program where israel could send her experts to Gaza in order to improve their capability. 2. Israelis tend to turn their back on problems that do not relate directly to defense. Thus, perhaps, by defining the firing of rockets into Israel not as an act of aggression but one of humanitarian love, your organization could convince israelis to simply stand at the gazan border with their backs towards HAMAS "militants" who could then simply machine gun them, as they have shown themselves quite profficient vis-a-vis their fatah brethren. 3. perhaps the israeli military could be convinced to allow small children in with their ground troops -a sort of sponsor-a-child program, whereby the children could enjoy the excitement of a day at the front and the soldiers would have a kind of (how should we call it) human shield to minimize their losses. Dear mr. moon, i am certain you and your organization might find these modest proposals useful in creating a proportionality in numbers. If not, i will gladly put them and other ideas i have down on paper, roll said paper into tight tubes so you can st......
