Sadly, you are right on both matters....
32. Israelis only fooling themselves...
rich   (01.14.09)
the money you pay for your voice to be heard in America will be your undoing. No American and i do mean none will have anything to do with Israel if it is found out how much you truly despise our Christian nation
33. Olmert GO HOME
Ari   (01.14.09)
best when he is beaten down and being quiet. the moment he opens his mouth, he just can't seem to say anything right. what with his stupid 'iron fist' comment and now this. olmert, do what we've been telling you for 2 years. GO HOME!
34. Anybody Who Embarrasses Ms.Rice
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (01.14.09)
Can't be all bad.She has done enough damage.
35. The Trouble With Olmert Is The Man
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (01.14.09)
Is simply a Genius.Sure he has made mistakes, who hasn't ? but he is one sharp cookie.
36. not surprised coming from a man like Olmert!!!
Nasri Barghouti ,   Manchester, UK   (01.14.09)
37. Rice Has Been Kicking Israel Around
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (01.14.09)
One too many times.I suspect Olmert knew what he was doing and fancied humiliating Rice, after all she will be history in a few days.Things just get better and better. No one likes to have their nose rub in to the dirt, now it is Rice's turn.
38. USA are hypocrits...so what's new?
Embarrassed! ,   NY, USA   (01.14.09)
If the US is truely Israel's friend, why didn't they veto the vote? You'll recall, of course, that the US had much less of a reason to go to war, and yet went all out - with or without the world's permission. And at great costs to the American nation, both in terms of lives and finance...
39. Olmert is an arrogant schmuck. Who listens to him anymore?
pro-israel ,   usa   (01.14.09)
40. No. 32 Rich
NYC Girl   (01.14.09)
Actually, Israelis are more supportive of "our Christian nation" than just about any other country...including some of our so-called allies. If you don't believe it, just check out the vitriolic anti-Americanism in the European media. In fact, Israel always votes with the US at the UN, even going so far as to support us in a vote on the Cuban embargo. And do you think the Israelis really give a shit about our embargo of Cuba?
41. Embarrased.
Mark ,   U.S.A.   (01.14.09)
I think most Americans will agree with me that most issues that involve the U.S. Government and affect it's citizens usually do not having the blessings of the majority population. Unfortunately this is becoming all to common, the will of the people is secondary to the will of the (in there mind) what's best for the U.S. Citizen, example; Rice's stupid decision to abstain on the vote for U.N. resoloution 1860. Folk's an education is not needed to qualify for public office... The dumber the better. To Israel I say, Happy Hunting !.
42. Olmert,Bush,Rice And Putin.
Miriam ,   T.A Israel   (01.14.09)
David in brief I agree with every word you wrote. Particularely us standing alone. We should try and cut all our ties and become our own BOSS.Time to decide our future, and no dependance to the US friend or not.. Bottom line, with friendslike these who needs enemies. Having toed the Bush line has not helped in the long run,nor when the new president takes office.I may be even worse as far as I can see. Conversely,I think Pres' Bush has taken a load of flack about his maladjustments and attacks upon his person during his tenure. Now he is trying to make amends thinking to leave a clean slate by apologizing(so I read in one of the foreign press). It will not help him at all,but then I am quite certain he does not give a DAMN either way. Nothing matters as far as Israel is concerned. We are alone, and should rise up to the challengeand prove their lot,WE CAN AND WE'LL PREVAIL. I did like your comment on Putin.there's a man who has not shed his KGB stance.Still acting as the BIG CHIEF..
43. Olmert,Bush,Rice etc **** To Bruno #28
Miriam ,   T.A Israel   (01.14.09)
But Bruno,we had a good friend in the UN with Bolton, but he didn't last long.Pity really. Other than him,I cannot remember hearing of any other who tried as hard as Bolton since he left office..There you go..
44. To Oxigen Thief..RIGHT ON!
Miriam ,   T.A Israel   (01.14.09)
To be truthful, I have said on numerous occasions that it is folly to trust politicians. And isn't it odd that they all have LEGAL backgrounds..Food for thought..
45. To Gaby..On Jimma Carter..No conversion?
Miriam ,   T.A Israel   (01.14.09)
Oh but yes,he converted to Islamofascism by the impression we get through his wrtings and meddling wherehe is not wanted. what a creep J.Carter was/is. One time Pres'who left a dismal legacy the world is having to deal NOW..you know..Iran. Sorry,I deviated from the subject, but his mere name raises my heckles!
46. #11 Gaby.You think Olmert gave a true account?
Miriam ,   T.A Israel   (01.14.09)
Actually Gaby,I tend to accept the translation/thought you presented on Olmert's credibility. Appart from his blabbering that is. He is wont to repeat it too.A most unfortunate phenomenon. Too late to change now,I suppose having done so constantly and soon to be put to pasture..
47. Olmert versus Bush,& Rice
Kelly ,   In Israel   (01.14.09)
I am so glad that Israel is gouing tosee the back of Rice who has done nothing but exacerbate the situation in Israel and Iraq as well. Good riddance to her..
48. I Have Strong Doubts
Not Jewish ,   USA   (01.14.09)
I don't believe Olmert's version of this senario. However I am embarrassed that America abstained and did not vote against the resolution. I also blame Rice for much of the current situation with Hamas, by her foolishly demanding the pal election.
49. Another friendly fire. This time at govermental level
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (01.14.09)
50. Apologies to NYC Girl...
rich   (01.14.09)
