First of all, Turkey is not in Europe. Turkey is in Asia, with a small piece in Europe. Second, Turkey did not save Jews during WW2. In fact, Turkey prevented Jewish refugees boats from even docking in Turkish harbors. Remember the Struma. Turkey did succeed to protect a small number of Jews with Turkish citizenship. What would have happened if Turkey were occupied?

it's mostly a matter of faith in your product: if turkey decided on israeli-made arms before, then they will continue to buy the best products for the job. they certainly can't turn to saudi arabia or iran for advanced systems, and if they chose israeli over american, it was either because of price or quality, or both, and that part of the equation hasn't changed. for israel, good relations with turkey mean more than just export sales - the two countries have common interests in energy, water supply, and defence matters that are far more strategic to both countries than the terrorist occupation of gaza (hamas) or the west bank (fatah).

your attitude is sympathetic, but you are receiving false information. israel is not using "excessive force", since the qassam rockets have not stopped, even today. they are still firing about 20 rockets a day (down from the 60-70 of a month ago), which would be 7,000 a year if allowed to continue. and it is hamas, not israel, that is using palestinian civilians as human shields. if you look at the idf page on youtube, you will see amazing things, such as mosques that explode like fireworks factories, because hamas, not israel, is storing tons of explosives in mosques (and schools and hospitals). please remember that israel withdrew from gaza 3 years ago, and yet hamas, in the name of "resistance", fired 4,000 rockets at israeli civilians. also note that israel cares more for the civilians in gaza than hamas does - the idf has warned people to leave areas that are about to be attacked, while hamas has (sometimes even at gunpoint) prevented them from leaving. unfortunately, none of this is being broadcast on islamist media, only pictures of injured children and curses against israel.

Ok it is arguable if Turkey is in Asia or Europe. But as i have mentioned previously Turkey doesnt need israeli support since Israel is controlled by some fundemantalists which are 100 times worse then those in Turkey. And yes Turkey did defend jewish rights both in ww2 and in the Ottoman Era. Actually jews fleed from Europe because Ottoman empire respected evey minorities, and didnt supress jews. Also many jews had very high status in Ottoman empire. How can you forget this, i say it again: jews should be thankful to turks like you are to the US

I agree with you, and I hope very much that emotional wrong moves are not goint to be made in turkey, since Israel does, and very much so, recognize the importance of turkey in the region. We only ask for a turkish understanding that Israel is fighting a common enemy, Iran, when it fires at Hamas, and not the palesitinan people.

Today Turkey starts down the road to ruin. They are shrugging off the mantle of modernism adopted by Ataturk and the secularists of the 1920s and they are moving toward an Islamic medieval society, similar to Iran.
