i am so very sorry for your loss doctor. i only wish god protect you, help you with your personal pain and shield you from this mistake, the horror of the tragedy than happened because of this shelling. hamas has blood on their hands. when terror operates behind civilian homes, they show a total disrespect for the lives of those they are supposed to lead and protect. shame on hamas. beasts beyond measure. animals who usecivilian homes to fire from, to store weapons in and to shell israel from behind those innocent civilians' homes. one day, i hope, that the palestinians under the rule of this vicious, retarted and vile hamas terror group will finally ask...why have you shelled a neighbor for 8 years, taunted him, cause him deaths instead of building imnfrastructure, peace, calm and a society for us so that we can have a state finally next to israel. is not recognizing israel and your terror and 8 years long missiles worth what you have brought on us???? is it worth your pride to sacrifice us and murder us by your actions???? thisk about this hamas. you have a lot of explaining to do to your people and to the world. no country that is sovreign should take your 8 year long 8,000 missiles on a constant basis. you knew israel will respond eventually. you knew the tragedy that your citizens will suffer from this response. you are irresponsible, a terror simple minded thugs out of unifor. you brought nothing b ut murder, persecutionds, poverty, hopelessness and miserty to your people. shame on you. beasts. mehmet aboulay tehran, iran

Saying that "Shit Happens" is an unbelievably insensitive response to this terrible human tragedy. You can lay the blame where it belongs, and that's with the Hamas terrorists who deliberately put innocent civilians in harm's way. However, this doctor, who believed in co-existence, deserves nothing other than our profound sympathy.
6. My condolences
(01.17.09)
Every single death of an innocent civilian is one to many. Hamas is to blame.
7. doctor loses his daughters
sas ,   israel   (01.17.09)
it is always the innocent that suffer the most during wars- regardless of where they are. Unfortunately it was written on the wall that something was going to happen in Gaza as the hamas continued on firing missiles towards israeli cities. This fighting must stop and we need to sit down and talk. Peace is made with enemies not with friends and peace is made thru words not thru war. unfortunately there is NOT ONE ARAB country that wants to even try to help the palestinians. it is very sad.
8. condolences
Ilana   (01.17.09)
This is why war is so absolutely horrible. We regret every innocent death. Each innocent death makes us hate Hamas even more. The worst part of this war is thatin order to establish homeland security the Hamas makes us to what we hate most. Andthen Hamas gloats. Sickening
9. LOSS on LIVE
alex ,   north   (01.17.09)
Anyone who was watching the Saturday evening news bulletin on Channel 10 couldn't be indifferent, to say the least, to the cellular call Shlomi Eldar (reporter and expert for Palestinian affairs) got on live in the studio. On the other side of the phone was Doctor Abu al-Aish crying bitterly and weeping for the tragedy that happened a short while ago, when a shell fired at his 5 stores house in the Jabelliah suburb killed three of his daughters and wounded others. It was the same doctor who called 103FM radio station two days ago, imploring Gabbi Gazit, the narrator, to contact IDF authorities to move the tank that is targetting its arm towards his house. Abu el Aish is a known physician here, a man of peace and now, on live we were swept at once to the tragedy of his family. What a "story" to burn our awareness, what a price for the Hamas evil rule. My condolences, Dr. el Aish.
10. Condolences Dr. Abu al-Aish
Rina   (01.17.09)
I'm so sorry for your loss. Your daughters did not deserve to die. No child deserves to die. People like you who are willing to see both sides give us hope. I hope that your injured daughters overcome their wounds and life long happy healthy lives.
11. I hope you are proud.

12. where was outraged press when Dr. David Appelbaum..
Phyllis ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.17.09)
Where was the outraged press when Dr. David Appelbaum and his daughter were among 11 killed at the Moment Cafe in Jerusalem by a "suicide bomber"???? A Dr. David Appelbaum was treated both Arab and Israeli victims of terror equally - A Dr. David Appelbaum who was the head of the emergency department at Sha'ari Zedek Hospital - where was the press then condemning an attack on the soil of a sovereign country - during peace time - in a public cafe..... This did not take place in Gaza where the HAMAS operate freely and were freely elected by the same Palestinians - and where the HAMAS place their firing positions among the civilian populations - and even fire from their own homes. WHERE WAS THE SAME OUTRAGED PRESS THEN?
13. Doctor, do you still believe in coexistence???
David ,   NYC, NY   (01.17.09)
I'm afraid peace isn't possible between the Israelis and Palestinians. The Israelis want Palestinian land (as evidenced by their continued settlement construction in the West Bank while supposedly engaged in "peace" negotiations with Western-backed moderate Abbas) and to dominate and exploit the Palestinians. The Palestinians have too much hatred and anger in their hearts after so many years of occupation which has driven them towards radical Islam. Peace just isn't possible between these two people anymore. The extremists on both sides have won.
14. This is a real shame

Yes Norway idiot I am very proud that the IDF entered gaza to stop the rockets fired on an innocent nation. You did not question hamas firing rockets for 8 years You open your filty trap yet mix your twisted lies to suit yourself.I am sorry for the docter in his loss as with any child ,husband, woman killed because of the HAMAS ROCKETS.
16. Gaza doctor loses 3 daughters
isaac himmelfarb ,   brooklyn, new york   (01.17.09)
Oh it is terrible. What is this all about? We are at war, there is a path of destruction and they are still shelling the south. This is our victory? For the south and north it is no better. Spare me such victories. We have not had a victory since 1967!
17. A Terrible Tragedy Beyond Description
Shimon Z. Klein ,   Bat Hefer, Israel   (01.17.09)
It is severe sadness that we learnt of this terrible tragedy. I am ashamed as an Israeli that the war is exacting a very high price on innocent Palestinians and of course on Dr. Abu al-Aish. Words are insufficient to convey my deep condolences to this wonderful gentleman on his tragic loss. He had devoted his life to a noble cause for the betterment of all children, irrespective of whether they are Israeli or Palestinian. The longer this cruel war goes on the more innocent people will pay the highest price. DECLARE A CEASE-FIRE NOW!! It is not sufficient that people are paying a high price because of mistaken identities by the IDF.
18. May they rest in peace
Michael ,   JERUSALEM,ISRAEL   (01.17.09)
I heard this doctor talking on israeli radio a couple of days ago... he had just peace words coming out of his mouth... i deeply feel sorry for him....
19. A message to the Israelis
Gazan ,   Gaza city,Palestine   (01.17.09)
I have been following the news from Ynet as well as the talkbacks since this war began. I can conclude that the majority of the Israelis, who at least visit Ynet, refuses to see the horrible crimes committed by their country on a daily basis. Im an average Gazan who has nothing to do with politics. Im against firing rockets against Sderot because it gives Israel a reason to shell our city in this cold blood way. However, it is pitty to see how you people refuse to see that you must be bear a large responsibility on the bloodshed that is happening at the moment. The pretext of Hamas using civilians homes as a shelter to protect them got very old and overused and it is only believed inside Israel. We, in Gaza, know that in a lot of incidents in this war, this is not true at all but on the same time as a Palestinian I do have the courage to say that Hamas leaders did bring destruction to the city. I hope someday you wake up and realize that this violent policy against the people of Gaza is not going to be good at all to the future of Israel in the long run.
20. No Co-existance while Arabs call themselves Palestinian!
Jjay3 ,   ISrael   (01.17.09)
Why are these Muslim Arabs Palastinian and us Jews not? Quit the scam. They use this context as an excuse to attack Israel with. I feel sorry for this good doctors loss, but why does he calls himself a Palastinian?
21. This is a real shame
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (01.17.09)
He is a great man and and an example how Israelis and Palestinians can get on. With Hamas in power... indoctrinating their youth with hate, I think it's accurate to say that they're not making people like him any more. I hope that I'm wrong. Sincere condolences Dr Abu al Aish
22. Very tragic

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 13:15 Time is short indeed.
26. Israel Didn't Start The Conflict, Pal!
Heather Czerniak ,   Milwaukee   (01.17.09)
I would like to know they the Palestinians chose Hamas to be their leadership. Look what has happened! Yeah, there are usually a lot of innocent casualties in a war. There's only one way to stop it: get rid of Hamas! Otherwise, continue to suffer the wrath of a country that has finally snapped under the worst pressure. STOP FIRING THE ROCKETS INTO ISRAEL!!!!
27. i am very sorry
ronit ,   usa   (01.17.09)
I am a jew, a future doctor, and a zionist. nothing i can say can make it better. i wish this didn't happen. you and your family didn't deserve this. why??? why did this have to happen?

29. HAMAS is using non-Hamas palestinians as human shield!
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (01.17.09)
Dr. Abu al-Aish, with all our sincere sorrow, empathy and understanding for your loss - and in this case it is also OUR direct loss - you should direct your complaints to HAMAS who has transformed you, your family and your home into a military target. You should have requested Political Asylum in Israel (or somewhere else) since you knew how Hamas treats people (ANY PEOPLE) who do not support them!

Yaron ,   USA   (01.17.09)
Thank you for your post, I am sure if your leadership was as pragmatic we would all be eating Humus in Gaza or the Negev by now. My sincere condolences to the doctor. May his daughters rest in peace as their story is too common in this vile war of attrition. Please understand that 99.9% of Jews and Israelis do NOT want to see a single innocent death. It will unfortunately not end any time soon because the forces of belligerence and intransigence are too great. As long as Hamas and Hizbullah continue to dominate the hearts and minds of the people, there will never be peace. I am terribly sorry for the plight of the innocent on both sides but Hamas was warned for a very long time that an ugly and destructive ground operation would follow if the rockets did not stop. What choice was Israel left with?
