1. Political Leaders Incapable of Destroying The Enemy
Adina Kutnicki ,   Israel,new olah   (01.18.09)
True to form, the political leadership is simply INCAPABLE of leading the nation to victory.. Never in history have there been leaders who denied their forces a march to victory.
2. Olmert's hallmark, "SURRENDER WHILE WINNING"!
Yoni   (01.18.09)
We have the not so instant replay of Lebanon and the only Israeli's who have testicular fortitude seem to be in the right wing and military. Miss Olmert, miss Barak and Ms Livni don't seem to get that in order to kill a snake you must cut off its head and bury the body. Drek for brain kadima party members and the air headed labor schemes are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Incompetent government!
SBK ,   HK   (01.18.09)
4. Mr.Guiness. Pick up the courtsey phone!
Snort Yarnell   (01.18.09)
Ahhh. BUT,...they (the Polititurds)ARE capable of destroying the nation and it's brave, competent military along with it. And it is not difficult. They get better at it with practice. OK. The Kadimacrats have now lost two wars in two years. That must be some sort of a record
5. #1
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (01.18.09)
Actually, Adina there have been many nations whose leaders denied their forces a march to victory. These nations were wiped out and no longer exist.
6. They say the could have done more. Too bad there aren't any
Rivkah   (01.18.09)
Ariel Sharons in the IDF anymore. He considered military orders to be suggestions. If he got what he considered to be bad orders, he did what he thought was best to do instead. That cost him in promotions, but he was quite successful.
7. Cowards who run from Lebanon & Tze'lim will run from Gaza,
Evelyn ,   Savion   (01.18.09)
instead of FINISHING the job. Don't bother telling me of the HERO that he WAS. He WAS a hero - today he is a LOSER.
8. So Sad...
Proud Palestinian   (01.18.09)
So sad how you claim victory over the blood of children and civlians, two of which are my relatives. Israelis and Co.,Ask yourselves: 1. Did you end the rocket-fire 2. Did you crush Hamas 3. Were you able to create a different situation in the southern part of your entity? No, no and....no. 1.Rocket-fire, which only went to Sderot(10 Km) pre-war, now can reach Beersheeva(40 Km). 2. Hamas has gained more popularity. 3. Your "South" is now worse off than it was before. Hamas knows your weakspot. They will try to amass as much rockets for any future conflicts. Like Sderot, in the coming years, Beersheeva will become a normal, daily target.
9. cease fire
bernard ,   usa san antonio   (01.18.09)
Hamas agree a cease-fire for one week but one month too late.....
10. I invite right, left, seculatr & dati to unite...
David ,   Shilo Israel   (01.18.09)
The atmosphere on the Gazan border was incredible, with all sorts of Jews working together...right, left, secular & dati...as Am Yisroel. My address in Shilo isn't the reason for our enemies to attack Jews. You only have to look at Gush Katif to know that we only succeeded in dividing ourselves, and that we were continued to be targeted by an enemy wanting it all! Please, lets prolong this fantastic unity that we know we can bring together, when faced with a common mission. Am Yisroel Chai!!
11. In 22 days Israel's voters will give their own judgement
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (01.18.09)
If rockets start flying again and IDF is withdrawing without Shalit in tow, the electorate will let Kadima and Labor know how they feel about this. I used to say that the world won't let Israel win or the Arabs lose. But it's tough to win if Israel's leaders don't have "victory" in their vocabulary. Barak should in particular face the music for denying the IDF, ready and anxious to finish the job, the opportunity to do so.
12. Let Israel finish ......
Eva Baker ,   san-antonio U.S.A.   (01.18.09)
Let Israel to finish the durty work and clean the hamas terrorist group .Let them to be stop to fire on children and civeliance. We have a U.N. witch have blind eyes for 8 years wene the skode folling on Sderot now on Ashdod Ashkelon and Bersheva Kiriat Malachim and more and more cities,Stop the hamas and all the jihadist before they reach other more places in the world. Stop the terrorist and LIVE ISRAEL TO FINISH THE WORK>>>Israeli people can be free of this terrorist group. GOOD Bless every American and I.D.F soldiers.Try to bring peace on this earth.....
13.  ANOTHER COMMITTEE OF ENQUIRY?

14. Pullout?
PG ,   USA   (01.18.09)
Take Gaza BACK ! Where is Shalit? This Land belongs to the sons of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, NOT the sons of Esau, Amalak and Ishmael! (A Christian lady)
15. #8 proud palestinian
Malone ,   Hfx   (01.18.09)
You have nothing to be proud of,pal. You brag about firing rockets at civilians. There's lots of Israeli soldiers in gaza..why don't you pick on them? There is definately a serious shortage of backbones in the pal community. So tell us ,pal..what exactly are you proud of?
16. Withdrawl foolish and dangerous
P ,   Philadelphia   (01.18.09)
Having read the interview with Hamas on Al Jazeera, it's clear that at least with their present leadership they have no intent of ceasing to fire missles or ever coming to terms with Israel's existence. Israel's failure to completely dismantle Hamas puts it at great risk and is a PR victory for Hamas. It is a great shame that Hamas is willing to continue acts (like missles) that put so many Palestinians in harm's way, just for the sake of international Muslim PR. Hamas does not want peace, and any time too much progress is made towards it (unilaterally or by Israeli-Fatah cooperation), it can provoke another crisis like this by firing more missles. When such a perverse situation comes about, the only sensible solution is to dismantle Hamas entirely. Israel should not have left Gaza until that was achieved.
17. What next for Gaza and Israel
Itay Yahel   (01.18.09)
The next for Gaza Israel and Jews and Muslims is to live together in peace. Hamas should stop hate and to educate his young's kids to hate. The conflict must be resolved immediately. No war it's a must. The terrors shouldn't use this conflict to maintain hate all around the globe. Since there's no need to fight anymore there's no needs to use women and kids as a human shelters, and the Israelis must find a way to create better life for the Palestinians so they will choose peace
18. Reply to Proud Palestinian
Maurice ,   Montreal   (01.18.09)
Here are the correct answers to your questions: 1. Yes the rocket fire ended. Haven't you heard Hamas has declared a ceasefire. And Hamas will think twice before sending again continuous rocket attacks (they may send a few rockets jus to show that they were not defeated but they will not dare continous rocket attacks as in the past). The deterrence is fully restored just as it was in Lebanon. Look at Nasrallah the rat, does he dare anymore sending rocket to Israel? 2. Israel never declared that the goal of the operation was to crush Hamas. The goal was to stop the rockets. Israel could decimate Hamas within a few hours but Israel knew all along that the cowardly Hamas hides among civilians and therefore eliminating Hamas would cause also the death of thousands of civlians. That is the only reason Hamas is still alive today! Hamas is still alive. But they got such a beating it will take them a long time to recover... 3. Yes the south is quiet now and it will stay so for a looooong time! You forgot one last point: what Israel also got out of this is an internationally supported decision to stop the arm smuggling into Gaza. Wait and see the measures that will be put in place. Well done Israel!
19. Israel forgot how to win wars!
Debbie ,   Israel   (01.18.09)
The best this government hopes for is a "good" cease fire agreement. No wonder we're getting rocketed from the South AND the North! There is absolutely NO deterrence!!
20. Ceasefire
Zuni ,   Carmel, California   (01.18.09)
Goodbye KADIMA........welcome LIKUD.........some spine is needed here......

A voice!   (01.18.09)
To every Israeli soldier may Hashem bless you for protecting the people of Israel. Amen!
23. Two important questions to ponder.
Sharon ,   Israel   (01.18.09)
1. If the elected government fails to hear the voice of their soldiers who go into battle giving their souls and very lives, what kind of government is it? 2. If the elected government lacks the courage to face off to the world and with iron will get their kidnapped soldier back, must we wonder why many young men are now saying they refuse to fight. Good young men I remind you are thinking, why should we fight? Why the strongest military in the ME and most of the world come out of Gaza with their heads down? When a government thinks so little of their military and more of PUBLIC OPINION a state is worth nothing. When appeasement is the soup du jour as we see before our eyes, we all walk with our heads bowed.
24. could'a, would'a, SHOULD'A
Robert ,   USA   (01.18.09)
25. A mistake
Cameron ,   USA   (01.18.09)
You had the bearded, fanatical stinkers on the run & scared out of their wits. Now we simply wait for a repeat in which you finish the job. Tel Aviv, you merely delay the inevitable.
26. infantry could have crushed hamas
elliot ,   usa   (01.18.09)
except for politicians--because of failed politicians and the hamas idf will get another chance--the lesson that aborting terror early is more humane than postponing the job has apparently been rejected...those who are horrified by casualties need to make hamas the casualty.
27. G-d bless the IDF
Jacob ,   UK   (01.18.09)
Even though Israel may have incompetent leaders in the Knesset, the IDF as always will do its best to protect the only democracy in the Middle East and the Jewish people. Well done guys and good luck next time...
28. But you did not ! the song in Gaza says..!
Every one ,   GAZA   (01.18.09)
I've paid my dues - Time after time - I've done my sentence But committed no crime - And bad mistakes I've made a few I've had my share of sand kicked in my face - But I've come through We are the champions - my friends And we'll keep on fighting - till the end - We are the champions - We are the champions No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions - of the world - I've taken my bows And my curtain calls - You brought me fame and fortuen and everything that goes with it - I thank you all - But it's been no bed of roses No pleasure cruise - I consider it a challenge before the whole human race - And I ain't gonna lose - We are the champions - my friends And we'll keep on fighting - till the end - We are the champions - We are the champions No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions - of the world - See you never IDF!!
29. Mr. Haber never heard of Nazi Germany, Japan, and Fascist ..
Zvi Lando ,   Tekoa, Israel   (01.18.09)
Italy ???? Who does he think he is talking to? The left wing idiots who have never read a history book, becuase their Guru Shimon Peres has gone on record several times saying the "There is nothing to be learned from history"? We are not as stupid as you might think Mr. Haber!!!!
30. I wish the soldiers were the leaders!
nancy richards ,   carrollton, tx, usa   (01.18.09)
I know the soldiers are right. They could win, and that's a fact. But these wars are subject to the orders of leaders who march to the beat of the world (via the UN)--not to the heartbeat of our Lord who has as the foundation of His Throne righteousness and justice! This is so grievous! My heart goes out to Israel, and my hopes and prayers are with you.
