You're right in some way. We did not destroy Hamas completely, we beat the hell out of it, while it was squealing like a little pig to the world "What about the children? And while Hamas is in charge, it wouldn't care how many innocent Palestinian women, children and men would die - it will shoot rockets or send brainwashed teenagers to blow themselves. Look what you're left with, however. You will continue to be sealed off the rest of the world instead of becoming a true member of the world community. While Israelis enjoy full benefits of living in free, independent state, travel around the world, spending time with family, you will surrounded by hate, fear, anguish and despair. Many more your fellow innocents will die. Look at what happened in the West Bank where suicide attacks stopped - people live more or less good life, and their situation will only get better once they become an independent state. You will be stuck with fellow haters in Gaza, without reliable water, electricity or food, forced to rely on humanitarian aid the world community sends you. Once Iran runs out of money (and that will happen faster than you think, definitely in your lifetime) you won't be getting anymore weapons to attack Israeli civilians with.
