1. Olmert
Ari ,   Israel   (01.18.09)
like the uninvited guest at the party who stays after everyone leaves!! He is an embarrassment. Olmert you are not only weak but a self serving man who has shamed my country. If Kastav was ridden out on a rail why in the HELL is Olmert still here flapping his jowls with double talk and BS? Why is he here digging us deeper into the hell the world is all to eager to throw us into? If we can kick out two Arab parties from our government, please someone tell me why not Olmert whose children ran to Europe to evade serving their country?
2. News Flash: Strange phenomenon in Jerusalem.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.18.09)
Lie detectors across the city began blinking & flashing, all at the same time. Experts were unable to explain the reason this occured. A strange coincidence, this occured at the exact same time as the press conference.
3. Truce
ED ,   Los Angeles   (01.18.09)
Nat Gas was found near Haifa, and now Hot Air found in Jerusalem, what a day!

5. Absolutely cowardly capitulation
Sane As You Are   (01.18.09)
The Europeans demand Israel surrenders immediately - and this clown thanks them for it, too!
6. Resume the operation...
Jacob ,   UK   (01.18.09)
If Israel does not resume the operation now then when the next round of fighting comes Hamas will have rearmed to their fullest potential and once again threaten the South and its residents. You don't have to smart to realise this. Olmert, Brown and all the European leaders know this but whenever Israel fights to defend itself against terror world leaders try every possible attempt to stop them and it sickens me. It will be even harder to react against Hamas in Gaza now that Obama will be President in just two days. Hopefully Bibi will win the upcoming election and try to make it clear to Obama that Hamas and Hizbullah have to be destroyed instead of being talked to because the Arabs don't understand ceasefires and peace. Here's to Hamas' destruction this year and hopefully Hizbullah will follow along with Iran. May God bless and keep Israel from her enemies.
7. Not so fast
Hans ,   Germany   (01.18.09)
Hamas has taken a full blow and lost some of their top men. We all know that Hamas will not keep peace but will provoke Israel. That will be the moment of truth, the need for leadership. Wait and see.
8. I can't believe this is happening.
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (01.18.09)
How in heaven's name did we get stuck with this sorry excuse for a Prime Minister. Just when we needed someone with the heart of Bush we get this corrupt Mickey Mouse. He is a disaster area for Israel. But he's a lawyer. Never was a leader. For him winning is compromise - win a dollar and give up 90 cents. GO HOME YOU FOOL! SPARE US YOUR DRIVEL!
9. TERRY THATS FUNNY,DID EVER THE LIGHTS GO *OFF*SINCE SHARON?
(01.18.09)
TERRY..ORIGINAL THOUGHT BUT I THOUGHT OF THAT YESTERDAY AND WAS TO BUSY TO SUBMIT IT.....LOL THANKS DACON9 jewswithviews@gmail.com
10. No Shalit, No Humanitarian Relief
David ,   San Diego   (01.18.09)
Don't open the border crossings for anything until Hamas releases Shalit. Let Hamas explain to their people why Shalit is more important than food, medical supplies, water, electricity, etc.
11. i wana puke-wont he ever go away?
(01.18.09)
just how much damage can 1looser bring to this country?
12. Is timing everything?
Arie ,   BaGolan   (01.18.09)
Today, we see the final act of appeasement on the part of the 1%ers, led by a PM whose swan song will be from a jail cell. hamass will not keep peace - they have no inclination believing they can fight to the last drop of every woman and child's blood before they must capitulate. The world agrees with them. They will yet again fire rockets. BUT, on February 10th, there will be a new regime in Jerusalem. One that puts our security before appeasement;our civilians before the opinion of historically anti-Jew foreigners. Then, the proper response will raise its head and be attended to: hamass will fire rockets at the Negev (again);egypt will continue to blockade access to gaza; the euros and the islamist UN will say nothing (for it is only Jews being attacked);and we will have a new government that faithfully believes Tzahal can handle the situation; and the boots on the ground will FINALLY put an end to the islamonazis! Three weeks and appeasement ends! Timing will be everything!

15. deja vu
alan ,   alaskan   (01.19.09)
no one has [ointed out that Olmert chose a solution that was the same solution France engineered for Lbeanon,. Trust us to keep out more arms smuggling of rockets. Now Lebanon has 5,000 rockets and in a few weeks Hamas will have rearmed itslef. The promises of France and Germany and the UK are fine but they run for home and do nothing to keep out the rockets. This plan is the worst possible outcome. The only way to be able to rid Gaza of Hamas is to bring Netanyaho back. Unfortunately because he is not your golden boy. But forget about Levni and Barack.
16. To #7 and others
Rupert Broch ,   New York, NY   (01.19.09)
Hans says, "We all know that Hamas will not keep peace but will provoke Israel." Yes, very likely, but do we know why? Is it because of Hamas' inherently fundamentalist wickedness? Or is there some other reason?
17. Hamas believes that killing Jews is a prerequisite to ...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.19.09)
Hamas believes that killing Jews is a prerequisite to redemption. The essential problem with Hamas is not the missiles and rockets it showers on Israel, but the core belief that killing Jews is a prerequisite to redemption. Hamas's ongoing attempts to kill Jews, which have led to the current Gaza War, are a symptom of the far deeper problem -- the ideology teaching that Allah demands the extermination of Jews. Israel and the West must create a strategy not only to destroy the terror infrastructures of Hamas, but to ultimately ensure that Jews and the world are safe from this ideology and its consequences. As to what Hamas really want : http://xrl.us/bjurj
18. Israel believes that killing palestinians is a duty..
sarah ,   manchester, UK   (01.19.09)
"All of the Palestinians must be killed; men, women, infants, and even their beasts." This was the religious opinion issued one week ago by Rabbi Yisrael Rosen, director of the Tsomet Institute, a long-established religious institute attended by students and soldiers in the Israeli settlements of the West Bank. In an article published by numerous religious Israeli newspapers two weeks ago and run by the liberal Haaretz on 26 March, Rosen asserted that there is evidence in the Torah to justify this stand.
