1. To quote one Givati fighter:
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.19.09)
"We came for a date with Hamas, but they stood us up and escaped..."
2. city of weapons, explosives? IDF reached outskirts only!
observer   (01.19.09)
In December 2003, 13 of Sayeret Matkal's reservists and officers (including one major) wrote the Prime Minister declaring their refusal to serve henceforth in the Territories. Their statement read: “We say to you today, we will no longer give our hands to the oppressive reign in the territories and the denial of human rights to millions of Palestinians, and we will no longer serve as a defensive shield for the settlement enterprise.” >>the Entebbe was staged to counter US-Palestinians approach, then who will stage the Givati's victory; Barak? he has already staged the Mughniya case.
3. purple berets' third defeat
observer   (01.19.09)
Summer Rains, War on Lebanon, and Lead cast. They had the full power of two battalions, but what was the result more than "confirming the kill" of 13-year -old Palestinian girl Iman al-Hams.
4. Yes, Israel didn’t use its arsenals of massive WMD and nukes

7. Israel won and Hamas lost its as simple as that.
observer   (01.19.09)
Doesn't take a genius to figure this one out.
8. Israel's no victory = Hamas' victory

15. History shows when Arabs claim "victory" it means they lost.
Cynic ,   USA   (01.19.09)
How is it that the Arabs have "won" every war with Israel, but every war ends with Israel standing in Arab controlled territory while the world cries for a ceasefire to save the "victorious" arabs.
16. debatable vicotory means IDF hasn't lost but ... hamas won
Ahamad ,   Gaza   (01.19.09)
a victory of enormousely huge army like the IDF should be obvious with clearcut points, numbers...etc. when such a victory is vague and debatable, when we see the forces of hamas are still govering, fatah is still weak in gaza, then, sorry to say, israel has not lost but hamas obviousely won.
