HAMAS Sincere????????????Only in that they are sincere on NEVER living with peace with Israel!!!!!!! Live by the sword, die by the sword!
32. Hate organizations
James Ryan ,   San Jose USA   (01.20.09)
I am a American and a Christian and I supported the action taken in Gaza. While browsing articles on this action I ran across a web site called Presstv. I found this web site to be very ANTI - Israel and every ANTI - Western. I read complaints from Pro - Israel bloggers that there blogs were being erased. Foul language used against Pro - Israeli posters was totally ignored by the staff of Presstv. This web site is one sided, suppress freedom of speech and is spreading hatred for the Jew. Can we blog it out of existence, What action can be taken.
33. Where is Israeli PR in regard to these new mortars?
ZS ,   USA   (01.20.09)
The world saw and screamed and cried when Israel responded to rockets that were fired on it. Where are the protests, for the sake of the Palestinians, regarding the new mortars that were launched? Israel should do some pro-active protesting, with signs that read "For the sake of the Palestinians, stop firing these rockets and mortars". Why are there not thousands of people in the street protesting against these new mortars with signs that say "Mortars and Rockets brought death upon the Palestinians! Those who continue to launch them are murderers! Rocket and Mortar Launchers are Murderers of Palestinians! You saw what happened before when Rockets and Mortars were Launched! Why do you wish to bring more of this down on the Palestinians???!!" Where are these protests? Where are the protests against the recent protesters who protested on behalf of the Palestinians, condemning them for not caring about the Palestinians anymore.. One Egyptian politician recently said "If you cannot kill the wolf, don't pull it's tail." The protesters should not only protest against the wolf for biting, but also protest against the people that pulled its tail, thereby endangering not only themselves, but also those people in close proximity to them.
34. jared, lets not forget that these borders we kept shut
farley the israeli   (01.20.09)
are the borders with israel, and as i need not mention they are a hostile entity (they are self proclaimed killers), you need not ask why were the borders closed. you wouldn't let a killers into your house, would you? i thought not. if they had financial problems, food problems etc. they could have sat with us and discussed these issues, rather then firing rockets at us. they were worned plenty of times. we didn't care for sovereignty there and didn't mind them staying there, whereas they wanted us out. that's why they are terrorists. as for how small the area is, had the gazans not wanted independence, the gaza strip could have been a part of israel. but they decided to do what nedieval europe did, where each city was independent from the rest. israeli tax payers will rejoice the day they are independent of us. tel aviv area is even smaller with the same amount of population, israel itself is very small, i don't blame the gazans for it, so neither should they blame us. as for a battle field, you mentioned a buffer zone, they could have held a face to face battle there, just soldiers. they made plenty of announcements from the bunker underneath the hospital, but none mentioned going to the open fields in order to save innocent lives.
35. #13 - Arik - where is your source?
William ,   Israel   (01.20.09)
I can't find your claim anywhere on the net. Infact, I can't find anywhere that Israel even responded to Palestinian infractions of the ceasefire (surprise surprise) except for blowing up a qassam launching pad earlier. Was it maybe a farmer that looked like a rocket?
36. Dr.Fine, Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine,.....
Gideon Reader   (01.20.09)
Maria in Maryland#25 Of course I knew that. But Larry, Moe and Shemp(or Curly)were knowingly trying to lighten the spirt and make people laugh. Not trying to bee ess them into believing Bubbeh mnitzes about success in war and peace. These three dunces, Olmert, Livni and little, short, miniuscule Barak are intentionally trying to sell a thre legged mule as a fine race horse.
37. Hamas
rick mallin ,   tampa US   (01.20.09)
You are well aware that leaving the Hamas stronghold will only make them regain their strength. If you would stay, the rats will come out of their holes. In another year when their rockets will reach Tel-Aviv you will be sorry you didn't wipe them out.
38. #2 - It is if it's an Arab cease-fire
William ,   Israel   (01.21.09)
They are experts at signing agreements they never have an intention of honoring. 60 years of broken promises and tears have proven that.
39. #22 - Jared - thank you for over-simplifying the situation
William ,   Israel   (01.21.09)
If you can go beyond the Arab propaganda and remove the Leftist pole from your ass, you might see more clearly. The borders were closed because Hamas declared a war on Israel in 2006. They stated very clearly that they do not honor any agreement previously made, do NOT agree with Israel or Jews in ME to exist, and will work to its destruction. Now I'm not a politician, but I do know that NO country MUST open its borders with anybody, especially their enemies. Yet - Israel supplied their water, fuel, electricity and allowed thousands of tons of aid through almost daily. Oh - did you miss that part of the facts? Did you also miss the type of phosphorus weapon used? It's to light up an area not to cause burns and the ICRC and UN both agreed no laws were broken. So now that you know the "facts" - ask this - if there is no room to fight in Gaza, why fire rockets for 8 years on civilians? If Gazans are hungry, why do you steal their humanitarian aid to sell at high prices?? If Gazans don't have money, why does Hamas tax smuggled items (like viagra) heavily??
40. #26 - a better idea for the tunnels and "underground city"
William ,   Israel   (01.21.09)
Instead of delivering gas to the fuel stations, I would just dump it in the nearest tunnel entry. When it's full, light it up...the rest will work itself out.
41. #32 - James - PressTV is Iranian
William ,   Israel   (01.21.09)
It was setup to project an image of credibility, on the order of Al-Jazeera but it's motive is clear. It's an English mouthpiece of the Mullahs who teach that the good life will not come to the world until Islam rules everyone (including Christians) and all Jews are killed. Remember, Iran is the source behind most of the world's terror today - funding Hizbullah and Hamas, most times at the demise of their own citizens who see rising prices and unemployment.
42. #22 - Jared - Didn't see "Hamas sincere" comment
William ,   Israel   (01.21.09)
You're a joke. Hamas has been caught red-handed several times paying other groups like Islamic Jihad, PRC and a well-known criminal family to conduct kidnappings and fire rockets/mortars while pretending they were actually upholding the cease-fire. Arafat did this same thing for years. He claimed he didn't have 100% control over everyone but when he wanted to, he could do it in less than an hour. Hamas is just as controlling and 20x more brutal. Check out the son of a Hamas leader on Fox speak out: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,402483,00.html Don't be a tool all of your life.
43. It seems they hunt rabbits with mortar shells in open field

It seems they hunt rabbits with mortar shells in open field-disregard it! I do not understand why they waste shells?

46. Battle at the borders
Jared ,   Stillwater   (01.21.09)
I jut wonder if the IDF would only bring the same weapons Hamas has to battle at the border zone, I do not think the IDF can fight a war without our F-16s. But still why did the IDF use white phosphorus?
47. How do you know?
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (01.21.09)
How do you know it was Hamas? There are about a half-dozen factions in the Gaza Strip. Has Hamas confessed? Has anyone any photos showing Hamas firing mortar shells that we can trust were taken accurately at the time the mortars were fired?
48. Arik Silverman, was your pali farmer firing rockets ?

Jared try to remember spelling counts. Still, what counts even more is knowing that Hamas is a terrorist organization
52. The removal of the Hamas regime.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.21.09)
What should happen is that the international community cooperates in the removal of the Hamas regime. It is an illegal government, brought to power by an unprovoked war against the Palestinian Authority (PA) which was the internationally recognized regime in the Gaza Strip. Hamas may have won the elections but it then seized total power, suspended representative government, and destroyed the opposition. There is no moral reason to the existence of Hamas as explained at : http://xrl.us/beczop
53. #47 Hey Slick
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.21.09)
Hamas is the government in charge of Gaza. They control the Gaza Strip. If missiles are fired from Gaza, Hamas is responsible.
54. #46 What was Hamas thinking?
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.21.09)
Over 3000 missiles fired at Israel last year knowing Israel has weaponry that could easily destroy Gaza. Given this full knowledge, they baited Israel, placed their own civilian population at risk and kept launching missiles to harm Israelis. When Israel gave them the response they were begging for, Hamas hit the ground running and dashed for cover behind women and children. Careless, irresponsible and disloyal to the people they were elected to protect. Shameful behavior of Palestinian leadership. William already answered your question about white phosphorus (#39).

mr. turkey, your friends, the johadists, just can't help themselves, you see. they have to save the little pride they have after such a humiliation by the idf and iaf both on the ground and in the air. your buddies will never lean and seem to enjoy, once slapped, to turn their other cheek for a much bigger slap. yes, israel will ignore this because none of these missiles fell on israeli sovreign land so far since the cease fire. we will never ignore them once those missiles start hitting even an inch of jewish soil, you can bet on that. it's a pity our government stoped us from obliterating them in the first place and let us continue the operation. you should have seen them running for cover as soon as we entered gaza city and bet lahiyeh and other dense city neighborhoods in gaza city. they ran for cover, dropped their riffles and disappeared into the civilian crowds. my soldiers in the battalion just laughed. we could have picked them up one by one, but we felt sorry for them. they ran like roaches all over the place and wouldn't come out from behind the population. poor palestinians were just there being used as war casualties while the leaders were nowhere. we looked for them, but no one saw them for 22 days. we were sorry to leave because if we would have gotten permission from our pm, we would have fished them out eventually without much difficulty and without much resistance from the civilians. the civilians came to us and told us where they were hiding so we just took their word for it and finally eliminated them. probably 500 fell just to my battalion. the rest, probably 300 more to the other battalions. they forced civilians into schools and buildings and closed the doors. then they booby trapped the whole building with the civilians inside. they thought we would open the door and blow up. but, we had dismantled the wires and bombs and took the civilians out. they came out with white flags. we gave them water and food and send them far away from the battle. shame on these barbaric people that do not sacrifice themselves, but their civilians for prpaganda in front of al jazeera and bbc. but, this is the arab way. killing, death and anarchy which israel always has to pay for it through more and more wars. i only wish the pm gave us the green light to go further. we could have used another week and would have brought all the hamas leaders out from the caves and tunnels. most palestinians in aza told us where the big gunmen shots were and we killed them. the palestinians are sick of hamas. they hate them. all the population is tired.
57. #46, jared
normal ,   beer sheva, israel   (01.21.09)
first, the reason the borders are closed is because Gilad Shalit, Israel was prepared to moderate it's stand on the issue of releasing terrorists in order to achieve his release but hamas didn't, it's demands are to high. when hamas prisoners are being released they are well fed and nurtured, they see friends and family and been monitored by the red cross, does gilad shalit has the same privileges? I have a suggestion, take out all hamas terrorists from the hideouts and form a line, do th same with israeli soldiers, without F-16 and then we will see you who wins, btw, why not do this with the american forces in iraq and afganistan? something tells me that you would agree to the first suggestion but not to the second.....
58. jared, about the munition
normal ,   beer sheva, israel   (01.21.09)
you guess from what you have seen or heard from palestinian sources, the same sources that said hamas grabbed israeli soidiers when they didn't... the shells fired was designed to lightup the area, how do I know that? my friend fired some of them... he knows what he fires and he told me. I suggest you research on something called pallywood and watch it with open mind, you mite see palestinian "facts" in new light.

60. #46 you mean the war of border crossings
farley the israeli   (01.21.09)
i am no army expert in any way, from what i read, the u.s. didn't help israel till late sixties, till israel won a few crucial wars against well equipped armies of its neighbours. our independence war was fought with rifles from czechoslovakia and eastern europe f-16 went into army usage in 1980 not before. we have infantry army combatants, if they wanted to fight face to face and not gain advantage by hiding in areas known to them and firing at our infantry from their advantage point from rooftops and balconies of crowded houses, or from bunkers and tunnels under public places, they had prepared in advance. all they had to do is declare, they shall move their terrorists to a place where our infantry can see them, provided we shall not use tank and air power. i am certain this could have been arranged. white phosphorous bombs were used to create a smoke screen for our soldiers, from what i gather these bombs are commonly used for this purpose, u.s. has used them too in iraq to provide a smoke screen, and allow the foot combatants to be deployed without being shot at from the advantage points and the traps the hamas has prepared because they were asking for war for a long time, and had a long time to prepare for it.
