61. Oil weaponry
Ben ,   Monroe USA   (01.23.09)
The Saudis have used oil as weapon before. The US will design an engine to run without oil. History has shown over and over again that the Arabs worst enemies are Arabs. They still are a tribal people and it's quite obvious that even today, the tribes don't like each other; nor do they trust each other. The US will not knuckle under to Saudi threats.
62. Stay out of this JEWS !
Gene ,   Raleigh, USA   (01.24.09)
We, Americans, NEED Saudi investment and GOOD relations...stop screwing things up for US.
63. "The royals" are at the end of their rope.
Persian CAT   (01.24.09)
These tribal chiefs posing as the "royal family" are so morally and politically bankrupt they are resorting to using cheap shots against Iran. Why would Ahmadinejad even consider writing a letter to these losers urging them to do "jihad" when he knows very well the "royal family" bank accounts controlled by NY Jews could suffer or even evaporate (I'm sure everyone has heard about Madoff). Let's not forget Obama's hint about "those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history". Hmmm, I'm sure "the prince" and his co-tribesmen have got the message.
64. Saudi Arabia is hated by the other Muslim countries because
Rivkah   (01.24.09)
of its lavish lifestyle and debauchery. Saudi Arabia is even building a mile high tower of Babel (Babylon) and is considered by some to be the harlot (false Wahabi radical religion) on the beast (Islamic Crescent) that will be burned with fire in Revelation chapter 18. Is Saudi Arabia the harlot of Babylon that the world's merchant ships mourn when she burns because no one will buy their merchandise anymore? Saudi Arabia needs some friends and threatening America is not going to erase the alligators in the Muslim world who hate Saudi Arabia and Israel and America.
65. To Prince Turki. Israel is Defending Itself Against TERROR.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (01.24.09)
Prince Turki al-Faisal said :”(USA should) .. prevent any further suffering and slaughter of Palestinians,” Prince Turki, Hamas et al is to be BLAMED for the suffering and slaughter of the Gazans. Hamas et al fired 3,000+ Kassam rockets and mortars (since the beginning of 2008 till December 26th ) from the Gaza Strip onto UNARMED civilians of Sderot, other places in Israel. SO, it is the DUTY of Israel to defend its own civilians against the TERROR emanating from the Gaza Strip -- it is just common sense ; it is the FIRST and FOREMOST duty of the State of Israel. Prince Turki, you SHOULD bring Hamas et al to book for ALL the suffering and slaughter of Arabs in Gaza Strip. Prince Turki, you want to stop the suffering of the Gaza Arabs -- then tell Hamas et al to STOP firing Kassam rockets and mortars into Israel. You say :” Israeli settlement building in the West Bank “ Jews should be able to live ANYWHERE in Judea & Samaria, nowadays known as the West Bank. What kind NONSENSE is that that Jews are not allowed to build in Judea & Samaria. Judea & Samaria does NOT belong to the Arabs. Since WHEN did Judea & Samaria become Arab land -- please provide the date. From WHOM did the Arabs steal it (i.e. Judea & Samaria) ? Please provide the name.
66. #56 LOL, keep dreaming <END>
Nour ,   Palestine   (01.24.09)
67. #51 Rewriting History Robert?
Tawfiq ,   Saudi Arabia   (01.24.09)
Saudi Arabia NEVER expelled any Palestinians over Gulf War 1. As a Palestinian born in KSA and lived here for so many years - I would know! My grandfather was even naturalized in the 60s. Stop forging history and spreading lies!!!!!!
68. Turki wants a Palestinian state, but opposes a Kurdish state
Ken Jurist   (01.24.09)
In the article he talks how there must be a Palestinian state but opposes a Kurdish state. People this is about Arab fascism. http://www.sfgate.com/templates/types/popunder/iii-interactive/iii-interactive.html On the future of Iraq, Turki is encouraging direct negotiations with Iran and Syria, and is cautioning Washington not to consider partitioning Iraq into separate states of Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites. Since arriving here from his post as Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland (where he served for almost three years), Turki has been extremely frank with Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other top Washington officials, he says, while paying a compliment to his predecessor. "Prince Bandar," he says, "had an excellent relationship with the leadership in this country.
69. #66 Keep dreaming Nour
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.24.09)
Oil prices have plummeted and alternatives to Arab oil fill drawing boards all over the world. Poverty is rampant in the ME while populations implode. Your sugar daddy in Iran has a very poor economy made worse by funding of Palestinian terror and Iran's nuclear pipedream. You probably don't pay attention to this because Palestinians are used to someone else picking up their tab. Look at the billion dollar mess Hamas created.
70. The Kingdom of Saudia.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.24.09)
Without its oil, the Kingdom of Saudia would have been one of the poorest countries of the world. The enormous flood of money from the export of oil makes Saudia a rich country. Instead of investing its wealth in the infrastructure of the country and developing basic agricultur and industry, the money is spent on promoting the Wahhabi doctrine of terrorism and hate to the entire non Muslim world as described at : http://xrl.us/okxdg
71. Saudi Arabia remains, beyond the interests of the moment,...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (01.24.09)
Saudi Arabia remains, beyond the interests of the moment, aggressively and murderously hostile to Israel. While Saudi Arabia no doubt does see Iran as a greater threat than Israel, this has not changed Saudi promotion of an extreme Wahhabi brand of Islam - with its vehement anti-Jewish and anti-Christian message - in mosques and schools throughout Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. It has not changed Saudi support for terrorist groups targeting Israel. It has not changed Saudi dedication to the goal of Israel’s dissolution. In fact, since the Khomeini revolution in Iran in 1979 and the subsequent Iranian Hajj attacks in Mecca, the Saudi response to the Iranian challenge has not been moderation of its policies and its attitudes towards Israel and the West but rather a more aggressive promotion of Wahhabi extremism worldwide to compete with the Shiit extremism being exported by the Iranian mullahs. Yet Israeli leaders look at Saudi words and deeds and somehow detect a moderate and friendly message in them, and construe a limited and transient convergence of interests as reason to make permanent concessions to a party that remains, beyond the interests of the moment, aggressively and murderously hostile. About the doctrine of terrorism and hate to the entire non Muslim world : http://xrl.us/okxdg
72. To Robert #71. The Fight Between Wahabbism and Shiite.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (01.24.09)
Reading your TB, I gather that the REAL cause of TERRORISM worldwide is the (violent) STRUGGLE between Wahabbist Saudi Arabia and Shiite Iran in order to show the world who the REAL representative of the Islam religion is. Their (i.e. Wahabbist Saudi Arabia and Shiite Iran) struggle has NOTHING to do with the Jewish State of Israel. They are using the Jewish State of Israel as a pretext in order to continue the struggle, continue the fight between Wahabbism and Shiite. And their (i.e. Wahabbism vs Shiite) fighting spills over in the rest of the world. CONCLUSION : The real problem in the Middle East is NOT Israel ; the REAL PROBLEM in the Middle East (and thus in the rest of the world) is this struggle between Wahabbism and Shiite. Prince Turki is asking the USA to solve the ME problem. I think that when the fight for supremacy between Wahabbist Saudi Arabia and Shiite Iran stops -- peace will be present throughout the Middle East. IT is that SIMPLE, it is that EASY.
73. Saudi "warning"
Brad ,   USA   (01.24.09)
Oh no! Anything but that! The overfed Saudi bigmouth said we might not be allowed to prop them up anymore. To hell with that noise. Without the US, Saudi Arabia would be nowhere. 911 was perpetrated by almost all Saudis. Tons of Saudi money finance the building of mosques in my country, and the spread of the stinking corpse of Islam. We should tell them, good riddance. They are very fortunate that I'm not in charge of my country. So are Muslims everywhere.
74. Middle East Peace
Kevan ,   Clearwater USA   (01.24.09)
This push to reopen the peace talks is a major mistake by the US. This is just a shell that all of the arabs are playing with Israel, promising peace when their intention is the absolute destruction of Israel, and it is about time Israel takes a good hard look at why people are saying that.
