Lindsay has been dismissed from his post in UNRWA and this is the cause for his recent statements.The refugees problem can only be solved when israel recognizes their right for RETURN to their original homes and villages or to find a creative(!!) solution by sending them to ALASKA or the moon!!

When the League of Nations outran its use the member nations reformed and renamed the organisation with new laws and rules and called it the United Nations. The biggest problem faced by the United Nations is that one need not pay ones dues either monetarily or morally in order to create the manner in which the UN operates. Only those who pay - say, only those who honour human rights get to rule on human rights and only those whose countries are even minimally democratic get to decide upon questions of democracy. Then it could be called the United Nations for Democratic Principles.

If this is indeed true, then we should dismantle UN altogether. Period. Full Stop. Lets build a new UN of Democratic and Civilized Countries.

UNWRA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees) is supporting Gaza since 1949. For 60 years Gazan, refugees and non refugees, got billions of dollars from the UN which fed, supplies energy, health care, schools and employment. More than 26,000 are employed in Gaza by UNWRA and make one of the largest employers there. The ratio of 1 UNWRA employee to 157 Gazans has to be matched to a ratio of 1:3,110 in other UN refugee services. Among the employees of UNWRA in Gaza are many Hamas members as Peter Hansen UNWRA commissioner said. Indeed, UNWRA is so closely associated with Hamas that they introduced into UN schools Hamas ideology. More than that, UNWRA did not protest when Christian institutions, schools, university and churches, were destroyed. Gaza Christians were harassed, their land grabbed, women raped and men killed. Many were forced to convert to Islam. Never did UNWRA criticize Hamas for launching rockets into Israel a violation of international law. Never did they criticize Hamas when they killed and maimed hundreds of Fatah sympathizers. In the last war Hamas executed at least 8 people but probably more for "collaboration with Israel" but certainly they took the opportunity to get rid of many Palestinian dissidents. Never did UNWRA criticize Hamas for using schools, kindergartens,universities, residential homes to produce, store and fire these rockets. As a matter of fact, UNWRA became part of the camouflage, deception machine to misrepresent ,stage, act, lie about damages in Gaza and UNWRA. Clearly Hamas invited strikes on UN installations to be used later as propaganda tools. In the same time there were no UN=2 0employees, observers and alike on the Israeli side of the border. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was the first UN official to visit Sderot in Israel after the war ended. UN totally ignored for years Israel complaints about Hamas bombings and was not instrumental in trying to stop Hamas criminal activity. UNWRA whining has to be viewed also through the eyes of the people of Darfur. In three years of mass killings and forced population displacements, Sudan and its Arab Janjaweed militias have caused the deaths of over 200,000 Africans in the country's Darfur provinces.15 million refugees live now in make shift tents with no running water, food,sewage all over, no electricity. They are raped and murdered by the Sudanese Muslim militias. 1000 to 5000 Darfurians are killed daily. And what does UNWRA do? Koffee Anan himself complained that 80% of UNWRA budget goes to Palestinians including Gazans. Figure it out: Every soul in Gaza, babies to Hamas terrorists gets 625 dollars annually from UNWRA. In Darfur the miserable unrepresented, un demonstrated, un propagandized Darfurians get 5 dollars PER SOUL PER YEAR. Palestinians are the 0A darlings of the UN and Darfurians are the orphans of the UN. It is time that the UNWRA/Hamas organization will dismantled. After 60 years of symbiosis with terror organizations, after investments of billions of dollars UNWRA is in moral bankruptcy. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon like Koffee Anan who preceded him has to understand the game of deception that Hamas is playing. UNWRA has to get out of Gaza and provide only to those who absolutely deserve it including the people of Darfur.

Better late than never. UNRWA has only perpetuated conflict & is an obstacle to peace.The US should have stopped their funding 50 years ago.

Well, Lindsay's statements aren't really a surprise to anyone. Have you any excuse for Palestinian lies and deceit throughout the years? As for your second remark: may the Palestinians please prove to Israel and the world that they have any will to live in peace, to fulfil any type of agreement, to abandon the foolish Jihad ways, to stand on their (your) feet and use all the money you get from the world for good causes? This problem hasn't started with Hamas, has it? What did Arafat do with all the money? I do believe a great part of it formed into the bombs used against Israel after Oslo and into the missiles fired at us after the withdrawal from Gaza. Any excuses for that?! If you bother fulfilling agreements and giving yourselves and us a chance to live in peace, maybe even the RETURN you're talking about shall be possible. As someone who is familiar with these agencies , I can testify that they are all too well abused and in dire need or restructuring. Refugees in Africa for instance are given hardly anything - which is not fair at all, and the needs in Africa are far more acute (running water, tents , food, the very basics needs). In Gaza while there is poverty like in any other country, it does not reflect the poverty of African Refugees which is huge. In Gaza there are stone villas, internet, plasma tvs, bathrooms in every level of six story family villas, electricity, gas. While outside may look grubby houses inside are very clean and very well furnished. None of this is African refugee reality, they live in tents, bowl of rice, maize a day, struggle for water. Gaza is not how the world pictures a "refugee"
