31. #24, it has a 100% track record of failure
Danny   (02.01.09)
It only admits there is a weapons programme after the country admits it or detonates it's first bomb. Why waste time talking to it?
32. ElBaradei, you failed miserably what Israel succeeded
Zohan ,   Tel Aviv   (02.01.09)
Unilateral force my stinking foot. Iran succeeded in their nuclear development all because of you. And you have the audacity to criticize Israel's action. You have been corrupted by Iran. Someone should investigate your Swiss account.

When is it correct to use a hyphen? Hyphenation in English is highly variable, and in many contexts, it really doesn't matter. The Fowler brothers, first editors of the Concise Oxford Dictionary, wrote in their preface to the 1911 edition: We have also to admit that after trying hard at an early stage to arrive at some principle that should teach us when to separate, when to hyphen, and when to unite the parts of compound words, we had to abandon the attempt as hopeless, and welter in the prevailing chaos. The places where it does matter are summarized in the Oxford Pocket Fowler's Modern English Usage (2004), the most important being 1. to make clear the unifying of the sense in compound expressions such as punch-drunk, cost-benefit analysis, or weight-carrying, or compounds in attributive use (that is, in front of the noun), as in an up-to-date list or the well-known performer; 2. to join a prefix to a proper name (e.g. anti-Darwinian); 3. to avoid misunderstanding by distinguishing phrases such as twenty-odd people and twenty odd people, or a third-world conflict and a third world conflict; 4. to clarify the use of a prefix, as in recovering from an illness and re-covering an umbrella; 5. to clarify compounds with similar adjacent sounds, such as sword-dance, co-opt, tool-like. 6. to represent the use of a common element in a list of compounds, such as four-, six-, and eight-legged animals. 7. in dividing a word across a line-break. Guidance on word division is given in reference books such as the Oxford Color Spelling Dictionary (1996).

Positive on this site.
37. IAEA : a waste of time. Destroying Syrian reactor necessary.
Australian Guy ,   Queensland   (02.01.09)
This is the one real good thing that Olmert & co. have done. Providing information to the IAEA would have gone nowhere. Syria is still technically at war with Israel and continues as a protagonist and conduit for arms smuggling and refuge for hostile combatants These are hardly the friendly activities of a neighbor seeking peace. Bombing the installation was the right thing to do. Only morons consider this act to be unnecessary.
38. Yes, because the IAEA has such a great track record.
Eli ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.01.09)
39. Don't listen to this muslim (simpathiser)
Mike ,   London, UK   (02.01.09)
He is only in his position to keep the US and israel from protecting itself
40. What's iran done to be popular in Muslim world?
Sam ,   Canada   (02.01.09)
the Iranian regime are Holocaust deniers, shippers of arms to terrorists and supporters of suicide bombing. Is this what it takes to be popular in the Muslim world? No greater achievements?
41. To Mr El Baradei.
Paul ,   UK   (02.01.09)
Mr El Baradei you have just shown the world your true colours. Why don't you go and live in Iran or Syria.

45. Art for Art's sake
Gideon Reader   (02.01.09)
Somewhere in a remote part of the Globe, there is a very strange artist. He sits in a field, surrounded by huge steaming piles of animal droppings; reeking and foul. Happily though, our genius sculptures; delves deeply into that fetid bog, and with his very own hands, crafts an unending series of professional fools; which then are carted off around the world to become the professional polititurds and experts who neverendingly pop up to take their place as heads of national and local governments and agencies of the UN. Mr.ElBaredei, is just one of the less bright examplars of our artist's work product. But a proud product of some animal's digestive system nevertheless, as his recent opinion proves.
46. unlike Am. Jewish officials, he doesn't hide his nationality

48. Israel will not outsource its survival to IAEA
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (02.01.09)
IAEA has proven its ineffectiveness by failing to derail nuclear weapons efforts in Iraq, South Africa, North Korea, India, Pakistan, Iran, Syria and Libya. So why should anyone listen to Elbaradei? It was Israel itself that derailed those efforts in Iraq and Syria. It was fear of US action against Libya that persuaded the latter to come clean about its activities. It was South Africa under Mandela that, with the end of apartheid, voluntarily dismantled its own program. India and Pakistan are now major nuclear powers, Iran and North Korea aspire to that status. Israel's sovereign right to survive trumps any obligation to the IAEA. Elbaradei is a lame duck, scheduled to retire this year. That day can't come soon enough.
49. ELBARADEI... YOU ARE JOKING, NO ?

Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (02.01.09)

52. re #46
Ann ,   Atlanta   (02.02.09)
What do you mean? What nationality?
53. IAEA didn't stop Israel from illegally obtaining nukes.
sass ,   sydney australia   (02.07.10)
I would like to see your sources which prove Iran is seeking nuclear weapons. It's all assumption and thats all it is.A CIA report recently stated Iran does NOT have a nuclear weapons programme and the IAEA can NOT find evidence of one. ITs all a excuse to bomb Iran as was the case with Iraq and the WMD fiasco which originated from Israel. Iran should do what Israel did to obtain a nuclear weapon. Simply lie . Your biggest fear is that a Arab country will become as strong as Israel and will treat you the same as you treat them. I wonder if Elbaradei was jewish would he have more credibility in your racist eyes.
