31. At last, something to do with that pairless shoe?
Was the shoe confiscated? Did the offender had to walk in the snow with one single shoe?
Cheap shoe stores will now boom. Perhaps the Palestinians should fire shoes instead of Kassam rockets.

32. STELLA!!!!! (#13) - Think before you talk!
You asked us to correct you if you are wrong, so here I go:
You call Israel's campaign immoral and illegal - Find me a Palestinian map of the Middle East with Israel on it. You won't find it. Look up the Official Charter of the Palestinians (Fatah, Hamas, you pick), see if it talks about independence without mentioning the destruction of Israel in it. Again, you won't find it. They don't want Israel and try to destroy it every way possible, forcing Israel to defend itself constantly.
You talk about refugees - Go look up how many actual Arab Refugees left Israel in 1948. Go see how many Jews were booted from Arab countries in 1948. Now go see whether any of the Jews have been allowed back into the countries that kicked them out. Now go look up whether these Arab "refugees" were forced out by Israel and how many were encouraged by their leaders to leave". Moreover, go see how loosely the term refugee is used for the Palestinians as opposed to all other war refugees. Oh yeah, whiule you're at it, count how many Arabs are in the Israeli Knesset. Now count how many Jews are in Arab positions of Government.
As to your incomplete version of history, one wishes you were right. First, look up how the Grand Mufti and Hitler were allies during WWII. Second, look up how Your country tried every possible way to limit Jewish immigration to Palestine, while allowing the Arabs to come unlimited. Then, go back beyond your 40-60 years to the end of the 19th century and see how many Arabs were in Israel at the time (Check Mark Twain's quotes). They weren't here. When the Jews started coming, they, protected by the Ottomans, started claiming lands.
Know the facts before you talk.
One more thing - when are you going to advocate for the refugee rights of the American Indians. Surely they number more than the Palestinian refugees?

34. #13 stella, europeans after ww1 carved middle east region
and created syria, iraq, and palestine. 80% of palestine is the state of jordan, mostly inhabited by those palestinians you talk about.
it is true the brits aided the arabs but the arabs were not self governed here, they never formed a state here, & were not registered as the land owners in the ottoman land registry. they formed a local uniting movement only when jews became a large minority in the 20th century. the british were not the first to try appeasing the arabs by maintaining the jewish minority ratio, so did the ottomans, and other empires that ruled this region, because jews were nonviolent people 2000 years, whereas arabs were always blood thirsty bullies.
arabs were slaughtering jews here for centuries while living in cities created by jews. if you are familiar with the old testament, you have some idea what i'm talking about. it was the arab interest to keep the middle east free of foreign influences, especially jewish, as jews always sought to return to zion, another word for jerusalem in bible. arabs were seeking to keep the jews tortured and unwelcome here, mainly because jews were a nation here for 1500 years, which is longer then islam exists. jews are a separate ethnic group, it's not just a religion, it's a way of life, a culture with traditions. whereas palestinians are not a nation, they are arabs, who came to the holly land, lebanon, syria, jordan etc, from the same place, namely the arabian syrian deserts. but here they lived on the ruins of israel, and seek to do so again.
palestine is a name given to this region by people who mispronounced philistines. but philistines are an extinct race of idol worshippers, whereas palestinians are moslem arabs.
jews always wanted live together as a nation that they are, but only in the 20th century they managed to achieve it. arab moslems simply continue the same dogma , only this time, jews are the majority, so they find it harder to kick them out, but they keep trying, because this is what they always did to jews, and so they seek to be an arab majority here, using every possible means, not just traditional killing based on religious convictions they kept up in the middle east.

Israel's ambassador in Sweden is not telling the whole truth.
He is avoiding open debate with people that have other way to look upon the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
He has refused to participate in debates in recent time. The discussion yesterday was supposed to be a debate and not a solo performance and Mr. Dagan turned this down. (I was supposed to participate in this debate)

44. I think the point is 1300+ people died
If Israel can drop a 10000 tons of heavy armaments on a densly populated area, I'm sure Isrealis will have a few shoes coming there way, especially when they are trying to put a "we had no choice" spin on it the whole Gaza campaign. You can't put a positive spin on this and I don't know why Israelis have convinced themselves they can!
And don't give me the "rockets were falling" on the south: they're still falling, Gazans still hate us (probably more), Israel's world standing didn't improve and went down, AND WE ARE STILL: FAR FROM PEACE (despite our jet setting foreign affairs minister).

49. Wing-tip? Monkstrap? Chukka, since...
...it was chucked at the Ambassador.
The obvious appropriate response would be to recover the shoe, carefully inspect it; and inquire if the thrower has it in Cordovan color, in size 10 & 1/2 EE.(whatever size is worn by the Ambassador)
Sometimes the diminishment and isolation of an insult and the insulter(?) by the insultee(?) via irony, sarcasm or humorous miniplatiuon of the surround (audience) is the best way to deal with such events.
A riposte of: "Not too bad for someone new at the shoemakers trade. You are better at resoling and heels than rational political thought. Continue with your apprenticeship and get back to me next year."
Barum-bum(traps). Crash(cymbal)
Or,...you could have your security people kick the crap out of the tosser(now THAT is an accurate description, nicht wahr?)

50. Stellaaaaaaa!
Your lack of knowledge is absolutely staggering!!
Every sentence is crammed not with fact but with propaganda .
But I'm not going to waste my time on a fool like you.
Your struggle is in vain BTW
You should be struggling to understand any justification for the illegal and immoral campaign of genocide of the palestinians against the Jews. I guess its just a continuation of their efforts during WWII and before.
And don't be so high and mighty! had the Nazis conquered the UK, you can be sure the likes of you would be helping the Jews into the gas chambers. Oops, sorry, according to your bishop, they didn't exist.
What an appalling person your are.
Stick to the Nazi web sites. You'll feel right at home!

51. #39 Mr. Feiler: Since when does refusing debate merit the
hurling of shoes? When Jimmy Carter refused to debate Alan Dershowitz over the former's controversial book about "Palestine," nobody threw shoes at him, alhough I'm sure there are many people who would have liked to.
Your comment proves that those who cannot keep their shoes on their feet are more likely to stick their foot in their mouths.

Palestinians yet, they were Arabs. The Israeli Arabs and the modern Palestinians are one and the same[the first batch , stayed, the second one, they left Israel, even thought Ben Gurion begged them to stay, but they chose to leave.Whose to blame? their ancestors.
By the way, the Promised Land belongs to the twelve Tribes of Israel. The Arabs already stole some of their lands.

57. #39 - The Jew who glorifies suicide bombers
Dror Feiler - No sane individual should accept your invitation to a debate as you glorify anti-Semitic suicide bombers (as you did in your "Snow White" display).
Do you condemn Hamas' rocket attacks? Do you condemn the Palestinian charter calling for an armed liberation of Israel? Do you condemn all Palestinian maps which have no sign of Israel.
Walt Disney would be proud of your Anti-Semitism but would still sue you for slander.

60. "Shoe Tantrums" at lectures are stupid
Does throwing shoes actually contribute to resolving anybody's problems? Whether the victims of the attack are Chinese premiers, Israeli ambassador or the US and Iraqi presidents - or Iranian presidents or the King of Saudi Arabia or even a Hamas leader - how exactly does throwing shoes and books solve anybody's problems?
Throwing shoes at lectures and press conferences is an insult to academia and to freedom of the press. Such events provide people with a chance to hear and question world leaders, perhaps even putting them on the spot. If someone has an issue with Israel, the US, China, or even Iran, he should ask tough questions. Instead, an idiot from Iraq has taught the publicity-seeking idiots of the world to throw shoe-throwing tantrums.
Karnit Goldwasser did not throw shoes at Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. She asked him for information about her kidnapped husband. That made the point very well.
Every reference to shoe-throwing should highlight how childish and stupid it is. This will discourage other people from becoming copycats and further eroding the quality of public discourse.
