1. Voting with no enthousiasm.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (02.09.09)
I have to say that I will be voting with a total absence of enthousiasm. The candidates suck, the electoral system sucks. The issues are important, urgent even. But not one candidate or party really represents my views, not one candidate or party has made a good case for itself. The ''trust level'' is at an all-time low. Credibility is in short supply. I'm not voting ''for'' anything really - I'm voting for the lesser of evils, the least bad choice. Sad.

chaim ,   Arad   (02.09.09)
I know exactly how you feel. I have felt that way for months dreading the day of voting. Then I took the "voting compass" test and was surprised that there is one that I do align with. That is the National Union with Ketslev. While we will never find one with 100%, I aligned with NU 90%. Since then, I can honestly say that I can at least make my vote count. Small party? G*d used small things in the past to make His Will done.
3. I'm voting with enthusiasm
RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (02.09.09)
I think Bibi, Benny, Boogie, Steinitz, Saar, Erdan, Rivlin, and friends are an impressive crew, a lot of talent, intelligence, experience, and reality-grasp. This group almost represents my views--Bibi is a bit to the left of me, I hope the others will keep him honest. I think this is a much better group than in any of the other three larger parties. Kadima and Labor were hard at work trying to hand over Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the Golan--the only thing that stopped them was the insatiable and hostile Arab side. Vote Likud. It's a lot better than the other choices, including dubious Lieberman with his police investigation and populist, fickle views.

I agree that the Likud has many good people on their list, with the exception of Netanyahu. I certainly think Netanyahu was a good Finance Minister but as PM .......??? His behavior re: Feiglin was awful (and I'm not a Feiglin supporter) & every time he talks about a ''gov't. of national unity'' I get nauseous. Then he hinted he would keep Barak as DM which is outrageous. And when he talks about an economic recovery plan for the Palestinians, well, this is way off base. Obviously, compared to Kadima or Labour, Likud shines. The thought of another Kadima gov't. boggles the mind. Lieberman is a good protest vote but I have problems with some of his ideas - as you say, a bit populist. But I don't blame anyone for voting for him. I can't see voting for any of the smaller parties (sorry, Chaim) even if they better represent my views. Hence my lack of enthousiasm. My dissatisfaction (that's an euphemism) with our dysfunctional political system of proportional representation only adds to this lack of enthousiasm.
5. To #1: Terry: Right again!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (02.09.09)
This election will probably have the lowest voter turnout in Israel's history. I can understand the reasoning that all the candidates suck but if people do not vote we will never be able to change the situation. One thing is sure, the Ultra-Orthodox will vote and exercise their right as per the instructions of the Rabbi! Tehranalem here we come! Sadly for the elderly, the handicapped and the sick, we are probably in for another term of "Bibi-cenomics" - the rich will get richer, the banks will increase interest rates and commissions and the rest of us well, we don't even count! I am no socialist but the state does have a duty to look after those who cannot, no will not, help themselves. The only people who really help themselves in this country are the politicians and they help themselves to EVERYTHING! At least Nasrallah will be happy with a Likud Government. No doubt Dr. Yuval Steinitz MK will once again be Chairman of the Security and Foreign Affairs Committee and he will close his eyes to the North, that is the Likud Way, as he did from 2001 to 2005 and Hezbollah will do exactly what it likes! Happy Election Day everyone! By the way, Terry, no "o" in enthusiasm.
6. SACK ALL CAMPAIGN MANAGERS!!!
Talula ,   Israel   (02.09.09)
They have done the WORST job in the history of the making. I've NEVER experienced such a sad pathetic excuse for elections in my entire life. All parties have used their TV election air-time to remind us how useless the other parties are and how they have failed and will continue to fail should we decide to vote for them. NOT ONE party has had the sense to talk to us, as citizens, and tell us what we want to hear. What they are going to do, how they are going to fix this broken and divided country of ours. They have only told us that the other parties are not capable. Last night, on the news, Bibi said if he gets voted in, he will cancel the 650,000,000 shekels put aside for a new Knesset and put the money where it’s needed. THAT’S WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR!!! And Bibi is going to get my vote. This election campaign was a complete joke and ALL parties should be ashamed of themselves.
7. Peace
Yehudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.09.09)
I want peace in our region. I don't want a situation where our country Israel has to rule over Palestinians. Therefore I want the Palestinians to have self rule in their own state. BUT no land should be handed to them until they genuinely want peace. As things stand, if we give up land we will receive war in return. Therefore I will not vote for a party that is willing to give up land before the Arabs are willing to live peacefully beside us.
8. to Terry #4
RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (02.09.09)
You say: I agree that the Likud has many good people on their list, with the exception of Netanyahu. I certainly think Netanyahu was a good Finance Minister but as PM .......??? I say: He drastically reduced terror, and also brought down inflation, and set the stage for economic recovery. He was not great but not terrible. He had to contend with demented peacenik Clinton. You say: every time he talks about a ''gov't. of national unity'' I get nauseous. Then he hinted he would keep Barak as DM which is outrageous. I say: That's a problem, no doubt. A govt. top-heavy with haredim, ripe for more Shas extortion, is also quite a problem. But the Barak business is upsetting, I agree. Barak doesn't believe in winning wars. Bibi claims he does. You say: And when he talks about an economic recovery plan for the Palestinians, well, this is way off base. I say: I think it's OK--he has to say something. He can't say "after all this time, all this corruption and terror, they should go to hell"--it won't wash. You say: Obviously, compared to Kadima or Labour, Likud shines. The thought of another Kadima gov't. boggles the mind. I say: Yes, and I'm voting with enthusiasm. And not just because of the comparison; because of the high-quality people in Likud, mentioned in my previous post.
9. The Candidates =bad "badder" and worst
DT ,   TA Isr   (02.09.09)
I am far from enthusiastic about any of them but I want the toughest strongest Right wing candidate that has a chance. Probably Lieberman will be a big disappointment but he is the closes to fitting the "no nonsense" candidate
