2. and what about Tanach
Aaron ,   Baltimore, USA   (02.10.09)
Clearly Taanach has been translated more. Of course, hareidi accomplishment are ignored by secular Israelis, or perhaps you hold that it was written by a Palestinian ???
3. Israeli art establishments left wing so this is no surprise
Adam Eliyahu Berkowi   (02.10.09)
Music, cinema, and publishing are all run by left wing and they use their platforms to push forward an unpopular and unreasonable agenda. Here I learn that the world is getting a distorted picture of what Israelis believe. Amos Oz may have once been popular but he is substatntially less so now, and hated outright by a large sector of the poulation. To use him as a symbol of Israeli thought is a disservice.
4. Amos Oz
Jjjay3 ,   Israel   (02.11.09)
Oz, Amos This left wing Israeli author referred to the brave Jews of Gush Enunim as "a messianic junta, insular and cruel, a bunch of armed gangsters, criminals against humanity, sadists, pogromists and murderers, that exited out of some dark corner of Judaism... from out of cellars of bestiality and defilement... in order to cause a thirsty and insane blood worship to rule." This blood libel sounds more like rank anti-Semitism out of some neo-Nazi primer or Hamas textbook. The Jews are supposed to be the "People of the Book." Amos Oz could have been press secretary for Sheikh Yassin!
