1. TRUCE WHAT A JOKE
Rivkah Rybak ,   Israel   (02.12.09)
How can we have a truce when they are stil firing rockets ans as we know from the past that even during a supposed truce they will fire rockets. What a joke!! www.yeshabulletin.com
2. Does Hamas think were nincompoops?
(02.12.09)
They are negotiating a ceasefire while parading images of Israeli civilians running for cover from rocket fire on their television station. Destroy every crumb of this scum group called Hamas and any other type of group.
3. sorry i'm finding it abit hard to believe .
vashDi ,   israel   (02.12.09)
i don't know wether to laugh or cry. it's nice how egypt is looking out for hamas best interests. i propose we build a big titanium wall around israel and to hell with the arab world. oh wouldn't it be lovely, lovely , lovely

5. No Truce without Gilad
Zev Taff ,   Kfar Vradim   (02.12.09)
How can we agree to any sort of truce without being guaranteed the return of Gilad Shalit????????
6. What? Truce?
kj ,   Czech republic   (02.12.09)
I thought there's been a truce in effect already. And it apparently doesn't work. So why put another truce in? Just to see it fail again because of some incontrollable Jihad mobs? Honestly I don't think that Palestinians mean it. Another attempt to blackmail and humiliate Israel. Israel- you are not alone!
7. Will Olmert give us one last betrayal?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (02.13.09)
I, for one, tire of the stream of "reports" that a deal is in the works "very soon". Until there's a deal, this is just rumors and propaganda. That said, I remain concerned that the current government will do one last deal that betrays both good judgement and Israel's interests. A deal that frees hundreds of murderers, opens wide the crossings into Gaza and grants legitimacy to Hamas - even if it results in Shalit's freedom - is a bad deal, and one that will cost more Israeli lives.
8. shalit's not coming back
hs   (02.12.09)
deal with it and move on.
9. So Hamas won the war for real !!!
(02.13.09)
10. truce
avraham yom-tov ,   israel   (02.13.09)
Is Israel so weak that it cannot even muster the strength to get one captive solier back? Shame on you Livni / Kadima. Also is it not strange that this information comes right after the elections. Avgraham
11. WITHOUT SHALLIT ...UNTHINKABLE AND SICKENING
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (02.13.09)
12.  Shalit will never ever be released
dave ,   uk   (02.13.09)
13. These 'animals' expect compassion?
NO HUMAN RIGHTS ,   FOR SHALIT   (02.13.09)
They cannot even see it fit for this man to receive visitors let alone be released. This is a situation totally controlled by Hamas. It has nothing to do with Israel. These barbarians are enjoying every minute of this. I cannot wait for the area to be invaded again and the job done properly. Vermin.
14. What Victory?
Ellen ,   Israel/USA   (02.13.09)
Let's see-- 1.Shalit not included in a truce. 2. Reported elsewhere that Hamas will retain right to rebuilt arms with bigger and better armament Now, will someone please explain to me how Israel won the war and what the objectives were. (besides boosting certain politicos before the election)
15. no Shalit no deal ...nothing ....enough is enough
rachel ,   usa   (02.13.09)
16. To Israel: For Heavens Sake Get Your Act Together
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (02.13.09)
I cry whenever I think about all of Israel's mistakes. Israel is a confused, perplexed, dismayed, beaten, depressed country right now. With 3 lost wars (Intifada2, Lebanon and Hamas, and Iran's nukes about 1yr away, Israel is still reacting..giving more encouragement to it's enemies. Hamas is like bacteria, if you don't kill it, it comes back stronger. I too thought there was a cease fire with Hamas..now another? Bottom line: no deal without Shalit. Israelis are weak, scared, looking for a leader..Livni, Barak and Peres are hasbeens..send them back to the farm, or kitchen.
17. what a surprise
leslie ,   australia   (02.13.09)
well the elections are over no need to include shalit in a truce No 12. if he's still alive god willing by the next election there may be a sliver of hope
18. Hamas: Shalit not included in truce deal with Israel
Chrisona ,   Chicago.IL   (02.13.09)
Then stuff it.
19. Thank you Kadima
Daniel ,   San Jose, CA   (02.13.09)
For this rediculious mess. No peace with out Gilad. No we won't get over it. Alive or dead we want him back. Not to hard to figure. Hamas are a bunch of thugs. Even Amnesty International is learning how messed up they are. Likud will block and Livni lead government and Bibi will be in power soon enough. Then we will get the job done.
20. ANY deal without Shalit will end government
Arie ,   BaGolan   (02.13.09)
The pretense of anyone claiming to be a "government" and agreeing to any deal without Gilad Shalit is a non-starter. You will see the end of a true democracy with the citizens screaming for military rule until the wrong is righted. For olmert, to engage in this last act of treason, should mean a death sentence for him - or even better - banishment to hamasstan!
21. Shalit not included
Austin ,   Los Angeles   (02.13.09)
I have no words to describe my disgust if Israel accepts this worthless hudna and does not get Gilad Shalit back
22. held hostage by Jerusalem
eliezer ,   jerusalem   (02.13.09)
What a sad joke. A government that has been rejected by its voters is busy setting up the seeds for the next war. Giving Hamas time to re-arm, re-train, and re-build before the next war that for certain will come. Hopefully Lieberman will demand that the new government not recognize this agreement.
23. #3 I wish you would
Peter ,   Ramallah   (02.13.09)
I really wish you would put a big titanium wall round Israel. I love the Palestinians. But I also think Israel is wicked. As a European it's the closest thing in this region to what I might call home. I'd chop my balls off if I had to live in Doha for a month, never mind a year. Israel is one of the few countries in this region that love two things which I value very highly: wine and dogs (the weird thing being that one of the few other nations round here that tend in the same direction if not with quite the same vigour is Palestine). But PLEASE put that titanium wall around '67 Israel not round the settlements. Israel has an enormous amount of which it can be proud. Hold that and base yourself on that and every country in the world will rally to you. Try to incorporate the nutty settler fringe into what it means to be Israel and you mix the unadulterated good with the unapologetically bad. Israel's greatest strength does not come from an extra few km of land but from espousing a set of values common to all the free nations of the world. I know that Israel went down that very path in the mid-90s and that it feels betrayed. But please try one final time.
24. No power to kadima
Stephanie ,   I   (02.13.09)
Keep them OUT
25. I think I'm leaving, the terrorist won...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem Israel   (02.13.09)
we are stupid beyond belief. Why is there a "truce" and a one sided one at that. and how many more prisoners are we going to return on "good faith"?????????????????? Come on people we're very close to the end game now. Enough with the tip toeing around, let's finish this. No matter what we do there are those that will always hate us. It's time we forget about the critics and act for our own interests.
26. truce
sad ,   israel   (02.13.09)
DISGUSTING.
27. truce
fcf ,   israel   (02.13.09)
outrageous and VERY sad.
28. Al AQSA by SHALIT
Siul ,   Madrid   (02.13.09)
This agreement is heavy and nasty, Israel seem a tearful doll, Why not a change hard? Mosque Al Aqsa (the new Satan/Baal/Molok temple) by Shalit. Sure that the Lord think ok about this, in the place most loved by Him there is the House of his Enemy. I feel shame of the weak conduct of the Holy Nation.
29. Terrorists should be treated as war criminals.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (02.13.09)
By exchanging prisoners with the terrorists as if they were law-abiding states, Israel can be seen as upgrading the status of the unlawful combatants from terrorists and war criminals, giving them the same rights as lawful soldiers, without demanding from them the reciprocal obligations. At the same time, Israel downgrades the rights of its own captured soldiers by overlooking the organizations’ systematic depravation of POW rights for Israeli soldiers under the Geneva Conventions. The damage this does to both international law and the international criminal justice system is considerable. More at : http://xrl.us/kj6sj
