1. "Peace" or "Piece" process ?
Neil Turner ,   Watford, UK   (02.23.09)
I do hope Bibi throws a spanner into the works of the "Peace" process For "peace", the EU are talking about the dismantling of the State of Israel, "piece by piece"
2. why worried?
(02.23.09)
The EU, like Amnesty International, supported Hamas in Israel's recent self-defense war and agreed that Olmert, Barak and Livni perpetrated war crimes. The EU should rejoice that Netanyahu was elected over people they call war criminals.
3. Chutzpah! It's none of their business!
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (02.23.09)
Israel is our country and we voted for who we wanted. No one asks anything to the EU, Europeans should mind their own business.
4. EU is ROT! US is ROT!
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (02.23.09)
Europe is asking a supply of US$500 BILION to International Monetary Fund,in order not to rot so soon;US is bankrupting, and they all DARE giving opinions about what is good or not to Israel???? It is indeed LAUGHBLE!!!!
5. Palestinians voted Hamas. Israel voted right wing.
Sam ,   Canada   (02.23.09)
If the Palestinians could not reach agreement with Olmert on one core issue then what does the EU want from rightist Netanyahu? If the EU wants real peace talks it should survey the Palestinian and Israeli people on the core issues to see if there is any hope for agreements. As it is, Palestinians voted Hamas and Israelis voted in the right wing. That should give the EU an indication of where things stand for now.
6. Ynet: the word "hardline" reveals your bias.
David Eli ,   Israel   (02.23.09)
I never hear ynet calling kadima and labor left-wing parties, but it's always calling the likud right wing, and describing Natanyahu as "hardline." There's an obvious bias here. Israel needs to unite much more before it can really make peace with others, and the Arab Muslims need to reject "honor" killings before they can make a deep and lasting peace with Israel, for peace begins at home!
7. EU knows palestinians won't compromise
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (02.23.09)
the EU expects nothing from the palestinians, so if there will ever be "peace" (meaning a signed document) then it all depends on israel's capitulation and flexibility. netanyahu is not so willing to give impertant things for nothing (at best) or terror (at worst) in return. the EU is not the best arbiter of what peace is, much less of what is fair.
8. Worried about E.U. !
Yisrael ,   Jerusalem,Israel   (02.23.09)
I'm worried the E.U. has turned into the new home of anti-Jewish and anti-Israel racism, and only wants to kiss the tuchus of the Arabs and Iranians for money. I'm afraid they have lost all their moral and ethical guidelines and will soon be silent as they once were as we are marched off to death. I'm more worried our idiot politicians will follow this path of doom as well. We cannot afford feeling bad after the fact, as the E.U. can, when our rear ends go up in smoke !
9. FOMER NAZI EUROPE WORRIES NOW?
petra ,   uSA   (02.23.09)
what a hoot! Europe's awash in muslims who are on the dole. Eruope will be muslim soon w/ blood up to your eyeballs. 'Great move' limeys. Better tell the Queen, another one's about to sit on her throne, oops! another 'HE". No wonder the sun can't rise on Englandstan.
10. EU worried we won't commit suicide fast enough.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (02.23.09)
The EU is only worried that we won't commit national suicide as fast as they would like. Their primary concern, of course, is not peace in our region but peace in their major cities - it is the fear of a local ''intifada'' in the heart of their capitals that worries them. Europe tried appeasement in the 1930's with another totalitarian ideology & happily sacrificed Czechoslovakia - it didn't save them then & it won't save them now.
11. DonĀ“t care about Carl Bildt
sanna ,   sweden   (02.23.09)
He is the worst "besserwisser" the world have ever known - ignore him, that will do him good - he has far too much ego.
12. EU Worried? Great!
Madeleine ,   Israel   (02.23.09)
If th eEU is worried then Israel must be doing, or about to do, something right for Israel. The EU likes to see us as a pushover, bowing our heads nmeekly to their demands. Well, our elections just told them what we think of that idea. I just hope that Bibi stands strong and will not give into pressure from Eurabia, or anyone else. We live here, we suffer the rockets and suicide bombers and only WE will decide what's best for us.
13. Realistic
daat y ,   jerusalem   (02.23.09)
Why hardline? Why not describe Netanyahu as realistic. He WANTS PEACE .DO THE PALESTINIANS WANT PEACE?
14. #10 Terry
Madeleine ,   Israel   (02.23.09)
Well said Terry. Of course, their biggest mistake is in thinking that if we only lie down, give the Pailis everything they want on a platter (not that the Palis would know what to do with it) and then roll over and preferably die, all their Moslem problems in Eurabia would magically disappear. What they are still refusing to believe, or are too blinkered to perceive, is the global nature of Islamification - nothing to do with Israel - that's just an excuse.
15. Eurabia is concerned about us????
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (02.23.09)
16. the eu should talk
bernardo   (02.23.09)
how much jewish blood has been spilled in europe. the europeans dare open their mouths?? they should bend over backwards to accomodate even the most extreme rw israeli. please!! the eu should stay in the eu & tackle their own subversive populations.
17. Sweden and whole EU should worry about problems back home
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (02.23.09)
It's not as if the EU doesn't have other matters, beyond the fate of the Palestinians, to worry about: the economy, the dependence on Russian energy resources, the Iranian nuclear threat, illegal immigration. Europeans should be more concerned about the growing Islamization of their continent and the threat it poses to their own freedoms. Indeed, I've suggested a betting pool on which country will fall first. But no. It's got to fuss over the "peace process", and the fate of the world's favorite victims, the Palestinians. Yet almost two decades of "doing the same thing and expecting different results' - Einstein's definition of insanity - haven't worked. The "two state solution" is the world's "conceptzia" - the mindset that keeps them from seeing what's really going on.
18. EU AntiSemites
Brod ,   USA   (02.23.09)
are worried about Netanyahu. These AntiSemites are in cahoots with the Islamist-Jihadists in crusading their Jihadism on Israel. They were in cahoots in carrying out the Holocaust in WWII! They should be ashamed of themselves. Israel must remain resolute and strong in confronting these external enemies in the garb of EU.
19. one state, 2 people
Dave ,   usa   (02.23.09)
1 man one vote! No apartheid.
20. Strange people.
(02.23.09)
You idiots whether you believe it or not, the EU is trying to protect Israel from self destruction. Iran is waiting in the wings, dont forget that.
21. WHAT?
Yaron ,   USA   (02.23.09)
Are you freaking kidding me? The EUROS were not concerned about Hamas winning elections, Hizbullies gaining political legitimacy in Lebanon....but are concerned about a right wing government in Israel. It is high-time we recognize the EUROS for who they are...appeasers and capitulators who are trying to quench their guilt with Jewish/Israeli blood. It is truly despicable that the EUROS have anything to say about the peace-process at this time. The simple solution is what everyone is afraid to say...Jordan IS Palestine. It is the most practical solution to the problem that will save a lot of blood. A real deal that is ENFORCABLE can be arrived at with the Jordanians....the arabs of Israel are a lost cause and will never be able to help themselves.
22. Uglypeans are not committed to peace
Frank ,   Canada   (02.23.09)
They don't want to address the root cause of this war: Arabs.
23. Sweden is fast becoming Islamisized and Norway too ..
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (02.23.09)
There never were any peace talks. So how can the be harmed? Do some governments actually believe that peace talks were going on? Both sides will tell you that NOTHING was acheived. The talks are simply held for show. Both sides like to pretend that talks are going on, for their own but very similar reasons. But it`s not brain surgery to understand that`s it`s simple make believe. We can expect to see countries soon to be Islamisized making noises that will satisfy their guests that are soon to become hosts. Mike
24. ABBAS IS A HOLOCAUST DENIER
(02.23.09)
EU STOP FUNDING TERRORISM
25. While EU and Sweden are "worried"..
Alexander ,   Herzliya, Israel   (02.23.09)
..Israel should focus on raw strength and power - increase human capital and resources, strengthen Israel demographically, territorially, militarily, economically, scientifically, technologically, morally and spiritually, defeat and destroy Israel's enemies completely from the face of the earth and make Israel and Jewish people and its spirit grow, grow, grow and grow without stop or cessation.
26. EU worried about the Lord's Peace Plan
sam ,   USA   (02.23.09)
27. 'peace process' does not equal peace
ari   (02.23.09)
28. eyeopener.
David ,   USA, exile   (02.23.09)
Netanyahu should be worried about the EU sticking it's Roman nose into Israeli internal affairs AGAIN, as it has done for two thousand years. What we have here is Hitler dressed up as European Foreign Ministers. Nero and Titus all dressed up like good guys.
29. #20
David ,   USA, exile   (02.23.09)
Take your meds, roll over and go back to sleep. It is obvious your dream is still happening. Or, possibly, you really believe that Europe cares about Israel. If so, a whole new set of meds may be required.
30. #17 - Raymond, I'll put 20 Shkalim on Sweden
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (02.23.09)
