Actually, didn't the United Nations issue revised casualty figures? 945 dead, 780 of them terrorists ..... Shades of Lebanon and Jenin -- happened then, too. Love the part where you say "blood of our children." You people SELL your children to be suicide bombers. Despite repeated advance warnings, you people SENT your children to play on rooftops when you KNEW an area was going to bombarded. Blood of your children, indeed!Israelis care more about your children than you do!
32. US money
marcel   (02.24.09)
UN and US money will be pissed down the drain by palestinians so called9as there were never any). They don't need one cent. Arabs are good entrenpreneurs. They just need a middle class that will kill all the terror elements in fatah and hamas and proceed to moderate business and education. The rest is bullcrap. The cowards in spain and france and europe just want to kiss arab ass to contain their huge demographic problems especially in france, england and spain. These are filthy cowards of the first order.

I don't see any money going to sderot and other communtiies in southern Israel that have been under a constant barrage of rocket from HAMAS - Hiding Amongst Mosques and Schools. www.yeshabulletin.com

37. lydia u want my digits?
LOL   (02.24.09)
be happy im not the Prime Minister. Bcuz then id give u a worthy proof for you side of the story. becuz if i was the PM. of Isarel. I for every rocket potentially killing my family is being fired i would violently and brutaly take over 1 sq km of gazan territory plus half of a km on each side of no-mans-land ( you understand that. in that space of half a km NOTHING WILL LIVE) oh before that. i need to soften the objective. so i want to buy 5 B-52 bombers and carpet bomb gaza 1st. when life is truely intolerable for the gazans. from the brutality, the rapid loss of land, and no aid. im sure Gazans will understand. my conditions, simple: 1. handover over all weapons 5 kilos and over 2. gilad shalit returned (simultaneously) only the meeting of these conditions will instigate my truce-pull out talks* truce & pull-out conditions: 1. if no rocket or shooting attacks occur within a bi-weekly cycle. each israeli companies holding those 1 sq km "fire bases" would recede back into Israel. 2. for every week of no rocket or shooting attacks. i will raise the aid by 10%. oh the consequences....thats right. only I could be allowed to be indicted on war-crimes. becuz i bet i would win on proof alone. and good lawyers. I wouldnt mind be called a war criminal if i actually commited the crime...as long as my citzenry is safe. i bet it wouldn't even come to that you know why? Bcuz i won the war. Winners of wars have never been indicted for War Crimes. The worst punishment is for me to step down as PM, but thats ok bcuz israelis would be safe from harm. i understand my enemy well enough to oblige him with what he wants. and I will give the Gazans on the war they could ever hope for. and add insult to injury: i would insist that would rebuild Gaza. "For a better peace" of course. We all kno im just copying a minature version of the Marshall plan. you can say all u want. about me but i am product of what i have seen from the pally's. a reaction as it were. and there many of us who feel its time to no longer be civilized. U think we commit genocide. speaking as a Jew who actually understands what genocide is from stories from my relatives. i think u and your friends need to understand what is genocide. If was PM of Israel, i might give you a good lesson from what the Gazan people are force me to do. Arent u glad im not the PM of Israel. "They want to be martyrs, its my duty to make that happen" lol

america has been funding terrorism for decades. the same money that was used to create the devastation in gaza is now helping rebuild it. like a snake eating its own tail.
39. so much for comrade obamas financial policies
zionist forever   (02.24.09)
He is pleading with Congress for money to bail out companies like GM or the banks that are failing. At the same time gives nearly $1 billion to Hamastan to rebuild the damage done as a direct result of their terror attacks. He isn't offering even $1 to contribute towards that damage done in Israel by the Hamas rockets. Less than 1 year ago the world just commited huundreds of millions to the PA. Now Obama is promising hundreds of millions. Bush fought a war on terror now to proove he is different to Bush and a friend of the islamic world he wants to fight a war in favour of terror. Next thing you know he is going to be promising money to the Taliban to rebuild their strongholds wrongly destroyed by the US & inviting Bin Laden to the White House telling him put 9/11 behind us then kiss and make up because I love the muslims.

Israel is just one of many countries who are not all in the Middle East that receive US military aid Military aid is nothing more than a way for the Fedral Government to subsidise the US arms complanies which it is not allowed to do directly so this is a way to do it through the backdoor. They get an arms subisidy which is used to help cover the development costs of new systems for the US military, they provide jobs, the employees pay taxes, the taxes go back to the government. It also garuntees business for the US because a condition is that around 75% of the countries weapons not covered by military aid are American. If these recipients want to keep things like their planes in the air or tanks running then they have to come and buy spare parts from the US. It sounds like alot going out but what America earns from income and political influence benefits America. Its a nice little circle. The countries that get the aid get some free weapons, it provides jobs to Americans and future income garunteed through these countries who have tp pay out money to buy more weapons and service what they got free.
41. Use that money for emigration from Gaza
Michael Hessler ,   Ma'ale Adumim, Israe   (02.24.09)
Those who don't support Hamas should be helped to emigrate away from Gaza. Any money used to rebuild in Gaza is a waste. Better yet fund a population exchange, bring Jews from the US and else where here and Arabs from here to there..
42. Western Taxpayer should know !
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (02.24.09)
Since the Oslo Accords, the PA received some $14 billion to 20 billion in international aid, according to a 2007 Funding for Peace coalition (FPC) report to the British Parliament. Each Palestinian received $4.000 to $8.000 per year. The PA received “the highest per capita aid transfer in the history of foreign aid anywhere”, according to former World Bank country director for Gaza and the West Bank, Nigel Roberts. Not surprisingly, hundreds of thousands of Gazans spent more than $300 million in less than two week shopping spree, after Hamas blew up the border with Egypt.Yet the Palestinian economy is in ruins. 43. Financing murderers.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (02.24.09)
Abbas support for Hamas is not new. In Feb 2007 he announced, “We must unite the Hamas and Fatah blood in the struggle against Israel as we did at the beginning of the intifada”. He stated this en route to Mecca to meet with the Saudi King, and Hamas terror chiefs Khaled Mashaal and Ismail Haniyeh. The Saudis pledged humdreds of millions of dollars in “humanitarian aid” – which, like previous pledges, they failed to deliver. Yet, as declared by National Intelligence Director J.M. Mc Connell, before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the Saudis and the Gulf states funneled hundreds of millions of petrodollars to reward Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Hamas and Palestinian Jihad suicide bombers and fuel the anti-Israel Jihad. Indeed, Saudi Arabia remains a source of recruits and Finances for … Levant-based militants as described at : http://xrl.us/bi7j5
44. #5 Israel pulled out of Gaza years ago.
Zvi   (02.24.09)
The Gaza conflict only exists because Hamas is fixated on murdering Israelis. Otherwise there would be a very quiet border. Israel doesn't want Gaza.
45. US Infrastructure is collapsing
Rod ,   Toronto, Canada   (02.24.09)
...but the Washington government just can't stop borrowing from the Chinese and then spending like there's no tomorrow... maybe there isn't? Will the US break up like the (former) Soviet Union, as the roads become undrivable, no public transport, no gas and sporadic electricity?
46. US to donate $900 million in aid to Gaza
ISSY DYKMAN ,   ISRAEL   (02.24.09)
WHERE ARE THE RICH ARAB OIL STATES ? THE ARABS ARE SCREWING THE WESTERN NATIONS WITH HIGH OIL PRICES . THE WEST IS IN DEPRESSION AND INSTEAD OF HELPING THEIR UNEMPLOYED THEY ARE FINANCING THE ARABS !

sorry ass for your well-being...
48. Isarel Will Never AQttack Gaza Again
Dan ,   USA   (02.24.09)
The one thing we all know is, in the end, the money will get into the hands of the stronger Hamas as oppossed to a weak PA. This amout of money going into rebuilding Gaza will insure that Israel will never attack Gaza as long as Obama is president. And it won't matter how many missles are fired at Israel. Obama is the Arab's president. I hope all the liberal Jews in NY, Chicago, Philadelphia and California are happy they voted for him
49. Disgusting
butternut squash ,   Flemington, USA   (02.24.09)
Why aren't we using that money to make OUR country stronger. I'm so tired of saving the rest of this world and allowing ourselves to go further and further into debt without signs of hope on the horizon. The rest of the world already hates us, let's stop trying to be friends with everyone by throwing our money at them like a school kid buys friends with candy. It's not worth it! Our own country needs help, let the other countries build themselves just like we built ours!
50. #2 - confused jew, I know why you're confused...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (02.24.09)
1) Unlike the $900 million given to the Palestinians, the $3 billion "given" to Israel isn't in the form of "mad money" to be spent any way the Israelis want- it's earmarked towards weapons contracts with only one goal in mind- keeping the American defense industry in business. 2) I know this is really, REALLY hard to understand, but there is a difference between the killing of civilians and the targeted killing of civilians. The difference is intent. Every legal system in the world recognizes this difference- learn the difference between "murder" and "manslaughter" if you want to debate intelligently on the issue. 3) The "West Bank" and the Gaza Strip are Terra Nullius- unclaimed de jure by any sovereign state. Palestine is not a sovereign state because the Palestinian Authority refuses to declare itself a sovereign state- you can't blame the "evil eesra'eelees" for that. Ultimate, confused jew, I know why you are so confused- it has to do with the fact you know very little about what goes on here in the Middle East aside from what you are spoon-fed by Amy Goodman, Noam Chomsky, and Norm Finkelstein. Facts, logic and international law are rat poison to their fallacious theories and therefore an objective picture as to the reality in the Middle East remains unapproachable to you. Good luck on what should be your new endeavor...
51. #30 the very same can be said about Israel...
arik ,   usa   (02.24.09)
52. $$$ should come from the Israeli budget
Spinner ,   World   (02.24.09)
The $$$ being "donated" should come from the $$$ the US GIVES to Israel!! It's f@#$in' ridiculous that the US tax payers should have to pay for the damage caused by Israel and then on top of that give the country that caused the damage MORE of the US tax payers $$$!!! WTF!!!! Better yet...the money should come from the Israeli tax payers!!! LOL!!!
53. Both Hillary and Obama make sick!
TOM ,   USA   (02.24.09)
So people in Gaza deserve more money than people in US --- especially when american are facing the biggest problems today?! How is Hillary so sure american money can go to Gaza without even touching by Hamas? What is this naive logic from these two lawyers ?
54. AID WILL ONLY GO TO HAMAS
(02.24.09)
HAMAS WILL LAY ACCLAIM TO IT HAMAS WILL GAIN POPULARITY WITH IT HAMAS WILL USE IT FOR MORE TERROR
55. THE US FUNDS TERRORISTS WHO CELEBRATED 9/11!
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! ,   idiots   (02.24.09)
56. Obama is a disgrace and an idiot
Steve   (02.24.09)
Does Obama not realize that this money will be stolen by Hamas and spent on weapons? This has happened every other time aid money has been sent to Gaza. Those who fail to learn from history and doomed to repeat it. Obama is financing terrorism, and last time I checked, this was a violation of US law. Obama, you're a disgrace. Fuck you.
57. The US is cruisin' for a bruisin' from the heavenly court
Rami ,   London   (02.24.09)
One city wiped off the map was not enough, hurricanes, financial disaster, housing disaster, communist president, socialist congress...
58. #50 Hey Joe, where'd ya get that cluster bomb in your hand?
arik ,   usa   (02.24.09)
1) It may or may not be spent the way Israelis want it, but as an American, it's certainly not spent the way I want it. We have much better things to do with our money than providing Israel with greater killing power. 2) While there is no doubt that Hamas seeks to murder Israeli civilians (and need to be condemned and isolated as such), Israel itself seems to tread very close to this line as a matter of policy--it's true intentions are ambiguous at best. There is no denying that Israel practices a policy of collective punishment of Gazans. In times of war, trigger happiness may be part of that policy. 3) There may be many reasons for not declaring a state--some of which certainly have to do with Israel, like fear of the West Bank also being reduced to rubble. Guess what Joe: there are people who know something about the Middle East (and even your little corner of it-- down to the number 66 bus on Derek Jabotinsky) and, based on facts and reason, don't come to your conclusions. Goodman and Finkelstein may be biased in their analysis (for which they need to be called to task), but no less than Fox news, Dershowitz, and 99% of the US congress.
59. Let it alone
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.24.09)
When Hamas and Fatah unite, and then when Hamas and Fatah kill each other again. Who will benefit, the Greeks? The world community instead of letting Gaza bleed and suffer for it's support of Hamas, they resuscitate the dead over and over again.
60. # 30 It's the American way to rid themselves of guilt!
