1. More propaganda against a right-wing gov't.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (02.25.09)
From now on, we will have constant statements meant to undermine the new gov't. under Netanyahu. The only objective of Kadima & Labour is to bring down the gov't., to undermine it's policies, to slander it into unpopularity, & to create unwarranted fears as to the consequences of a Netanyahu gov't. Not said, of course, is that perhaps it is time for an Israeli gov't. to stand up for Israeli interests instead of caving in to every demand made upon us by those that have our worst interests at heart. Needless to say, this would not change if Kadima joined the coalition or not. The objective would be the same. Instead of concentrating efforts at strengthening our ability to deal with the many threats facing us as a nation, these self-interested political parasites have no problem sacrificing the national interest in favour of personal interest. In this pursuit, these unscrupulous political hacks will enlist the aid even of our enemies in coordinating underhanded attacks against this gov't. Very patriotic.
2. Time for change
DT ,   TA Isr   (02.25.09)
A Right government here is the "right "government. Voters with sense are tired of midlle of the road and Left wing appeasers in determining Israels course
3. foreign relations have already been damaged, and its going
randi ,   Jerusalem   (02.25.09)
to get worse. It doesn't matter who is in the government. the world hates us, and the way things are going it's clear that it will continue. it will be bad, but it won't be the gov's fault. look what happened when we tried to protect ourselves from gaza /hamas bombs. peace-making kadima lead that war. do you want to blame them for all of the international anti-semitism that resulted? they hate us no matter what we do.
4. Leftist government dangerous.
Steve   (02.25.09)
5. Divided government dangerous.
Steve   (02.25.09)
There is nothing more dangerous than a divided, middle of the road government that cannot make a decision, either good of bad. We've had an extremist lefist (Olmert / Livni) govenment for the past four or so years, and Jew-hatred around the globe has reached an all-time high. Give us a rightist government that can govern for a change. No more bankrupt unity governments. Please.
6. Liberal Jewish Left
B.E. ,   Whangarei, NZ   (02.25.09)
Let's see now, name your favorite liberal left Jewish thinker and name all the contributions he/she has made to civilization, beginning with Karl Marx and the Marx-Engles hard rock music enjoyed in so many soviet gulag camps. Lets see what the Livni lovein produces.
7. Slam the media..........
Asher (Truth Hurts) ,   Jerusalem   (02.25.09)
""he media for encouraging the formation of a narrow right-wing government and failing to criticize Livni's decision not to join the coalition"" I thought the media's job was to JUST report the facts to the people. According to this statement, they do more than just report. They therefore should be accountable for they damage they cause. Once they write something, retracting it later falls on Deaf ears. the damage was done. I don't have to give examples. just read the daily articles.
8. dangerous?
eli ,   jerusalem   (02.25.09)
The Olmert gov. was the most dangerous gov. for Israel ever.
9. If this alert comes from Olmert &cia
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (02.25.09)
Then,MORE THAN EVER we must know that Livni MUST NOT JOIN the coalition. Let her in the opposition and let Bibi face the destiny he fought so hard to win, despite having crashed ethic and moral codes he should have respected along the way. Now he can not hide in the back of Livni 's skirt(well, she wears paints more than skirts...),and must face, as a man ,the Right wing coalition and do his best ,with courage and, more over, with a bit of humbleness to respect the majority. He and his ego are not alone and he must know that from now. I think so... PS-Olmert is good for nothing and should shut up already and answer only to what Police asks him!
10. What's dangerous is losing two wars in a row
Rami ,   London   (02.25.09)
THAT's dangerous, because it encourages the enemy to have hope to be able to defeat Israel - yes and this was brought to you DELIBERATELY by the left, because they didn't have the stomach to win. So it doesn't matter what ynet or any other left-wing radical website says, it's the LEFT which is MORTALLY DANGEROUS.
11. Left-wing endangers Israel
(02.25.09)
12. Olmert is afraid of jail not "foreign relations"
Mike ,   Haifa   (02.25.09)
This guy Olmert made more demage than any other PM except Barak.
13. I dream of a Leftist Government
Sagi ,   Israel   (02.25.09)
but only on one condition. Zahava Galon, Prime Minster. Sheli Yichimovitch, Foreign Minister. Amir Peretz, Defense Minister. Yuli Tamir, Treasury. Buzhi Baby, Internal security. Paz(don't like his other name) ? Thank heavens it's only a dream.
14. The "have beens"
Michael ,   Haifa   (02.25.09)
"Olmert's aides went on to slam the media for encouraging the formation of a narrow right-wing government and failing to criticize Livni's decision not to join the coalition"....Olmert and his aides are prehistory now. They forget that Livni is in charge and that they are "have beens"
15. And why is a Left government less dangerous?
JPS ,   Efrat   (02.25.09)
A leftist government would pursue the failed "land-for-peace" formula. The result would be Grad missiles raining down on Tel Aviv and airliners blown out of the sky while trying to land or depart Ben Gurion Airport. Why would a leftist government be less dangerous than a rightist government? There are actually many indicators that a leftist government would lead Israel to an inevitable war by handing over the west bank to an unstable and militant Palestinian Authority that is not committed to peace. For now, a right wing government that deals with the two-headed Palestinian leadership will be better for Israel by dropping the charade of "peace talks" until there is a viable Palestinian government committed to peace.
16. Olmert says,...
Gideon Reader   (02.25.09)
...and everyone laughs; except for those who cry. Olmert says a "rightist government is srong, wronger, but,...the Kadimaish kind of government of the lazy, corrupt, polotically tone deaf and ouitright stupid government is " wrongist". Two wars. One lost. One inconclusive, deterrence and opinion in the crapper, and the alleged PM's name synounomous with theft, sleaze and incompetence, as well as "envelopes". Olmert says,....a childs game played on the world stage.
17. Who cares what the world thinks of you, Israel will survive!
Sofia ,   Grunnen, Netherlands   (02.25.09)
Dear Israeli/Jews, I am really glad Bibi won, because he promised not to give in to false peace talks, pressure, threaths. You didn't get wat you deserve: peace in exhange for giving up Gaza, Gush Katif..your enemies have betrayed you and they still do. They want to deprive you from your land, if not via the violent way than by smooth talk and ongoing pressure. Believe me, there are a lot people out here in the world who love you very much and 'pray for you. I am not EU, the world, a leader, just a humble Dutch Christian girl who love you as you are. Hang on, be strong. God is with you!
18. New Elections in Israel
Joshua ,   New York, USA   (02.26.09)
is my prediction. It's easy to say who cares what the world thinks when Israelis have not yet suffered the real consequences of South Africa type isolation. While hostility from EU countries is not new, our most important ally, the U.S. is now joining in the chorus. American media is full of calls to boycott Israeli made goods, cutting off of all US tax dollars, embargo of sports, cultural exchanges and academic exchanges. Significantly, Israel's right wing government under Bibi bloc would be the only political entity in the world in favor of settlements and against peace negotiations with the Palestinians. Every other country in the world, including the U.S. has a contrary position. Equally significant is the fact that major American Jewish Organizations have not come out in support of the right wing bloc when the press invited them to comment on the situation. The political reality in the U.S. is that Jewish organizations stretched their credibility by defending what Americans consider extreme military aggression in Gaza like Phosphorus bombing, not to mention ludicrous events like the withholding of the importation of donated pasta, lentils, paper and crayons and paper into post-war Gaza. American Jewish Organizations are politically very astute and will not tolerate further erosion of their credibility by unquestionably supporting the deeds and declarations of Bibi's extreme right wing government. Additionally, the Israeli press reports that even though Israelis voted for right wing representatives for 65 Knesset seats, the majority of Israelis now disfavor a right wing government. Nor is it likely that Kadima and/or Labor can join with any right wing party to fashion a durable coalition. These alliances are doomed from the start because they are like trying to mix oil into water. The slight majority enjoyed by the right wing is morphing into a slight majority for non-right wing parties. This inevitablely leads to the need for another election.
19. Keep faith in your God
Sofia ,   Grunnen, NL   (02.27.09)
Dear Joshua and others, Sorry, I know it is easy for me to say 'who cares what the world say', I am not in such extreme difficult situation as you are. I understand, but do not give up even if life seems so unfair, insane, mean and hopeless. Yes it seems the whole world is against you and even some friends and allies are not who you thought they are. It is really sad that some Jews in America and their president seem to let you down. For me, I still buy Israeli products and don't buy the lies some media sells us. And I nor you are alone: for there are a lot decent Americans and other foreigners who do really love you. There are false Christians I am so sorry to tell this, but you should recognize people by their fruit. But the most important thing is, you should care what God, the Mighty God of Israel, thinks of you. If you turn your back on Him, how would you expect Him to save you, and He, Adonai, loves you and is able to save you even if you would be attacked by millions nuke bombs from all your enemies all together. God would take them out all at once! Remember all the miracles God has shown to you, He deserves your commitment to Him. Don't abandon him He is who you need. Then, yes who cares what the world says or does.. with God alone you will survive! May he bless you for ever.
