1. Sometimes a great man, sometimes a stupid one....
David ,   Hartford USA   (02.26.09)
But the medical resources spent on him are insulting to the average Israeli- who long ago would have been moved to a tertiary facility. There is no shame in being moved to another location. There is shame in wasting limited funds and beds when patients who can be helped don't have a place to go. His family should 'unplug' him and see what happens. He'll either wake up or he won't- but the choice will be in G-d's hands. The family should recognize what they are really doing by their actions. My father had several strokes and was in a state such as Sharon's- we dearly loved him but couldn't see putting feeding tubes and catheters in him for some unknown period of time. The doctors said he wouldn't wake up. Who really knows? The family decided to put him into a hospice, where he passed away two week later. The Sharon family should consider this.
2. Ariel Sharon
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (02.26.09)
Is a true hero of the State of Israel. If his family wants him to remain in the hospital center, then that is where he should be. Whatever the cost.
3. The Mitzvah of Living in Eretz Yisrael
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (02.26.09)
The man who fought so hard for the Mitzvah to Live in eretz Yisrael and then fought against that mitzvah now does no mitzvoth and no averoth except the Mitzvah to live in Eretz Yisrael.
4. It can't be true!
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (02.26.09)
The Attorney-general appointed by his father did not think that Gilad getting 40000 NIS salary for surfing the Net was bribery, so Gilad must be an honest man. It is impossible to believe that Gilad Sharon would make illegal use of his father's hospital room for private business instead of renting a proper office.
5. Apparently, the Omertz Group is unaware that families of
Rivkah   (02.26.09)
critically ill patients, including amputees who are fully conscious and back at Sheba Chaim Medical Center for replacement limbs and physical therapy are given a free hotel room to stay in. The Sharon family should exercise that right and ask for a free hotel room, not just an office to be near a man the ELS Bible codes at www.biblecodedigest.com describe as "beloved of ha'Shem". Do you know what that means you silly critics? Very few are called that. King David had a heart after God's own heart and a few others are described as beloved of the Lord. Very few are so highly treasured by the Lord. My concern is that General Sharon is being sedated too much. Much of the sedation should be gradually withdrawn because too much sedatives hinders recovery. I also remind the critics that a former Prime Minister is entitled to an office and staff and vehicle. His son Gilad is maintaining an office for his father which is legal in every respect since offices for a former Prime Minister have a manager. I have a guest room with a lovely view of a redwood tree in the front yard for General Sharon if Israel does not want to take care of its own. For me, that would be like having a King David in the house and the protection and blessing from the Lord that would bring. I am very happy near General Sharon, even in the same city or country. But apparently there are Israelis who do not know where a lot of their blessings are coming from: God's love for Sharon.
6. What treatment???
Uri   (02.26.09)
Are we kidding ourselves here? The man is brain dead. Let him die in peace.
7. The real reason
Rich ,   New York   (02.26.09)
His son needs office in Tel Aviv area and does not want to pay. If Sharon is dead then NOBODY will think about this family. Another son got out of jail. What a low class family. Only money on their mind!
8. He's not "brain-dead," he's in a coma--there's a difference
To #6 ,   usa   (02.26.09)
People have been known to wake up from comas.
9. #3 well thats rich coming from you
avi ,   ramat gan Israel   (02.26.09)
Ever heard of Aliah, or do you just prefer to run our lives from the comfort of NY ?
10. #8 People have been known to wake up from comas...
Aharon   (02.27.09)
But not 2 years after they fell into them. Sharon is in a vegetative state, there is no empirical or scientific reason to think that he will be waking up. Nobody wants to "pull the plug" on such a great man - but it's about time. Keeping him like this is cruel.
11. Uri#6
Malone ,   Hfx   (02.27.09)
Is this the same Uri that was so offended when I suggested that Gilad Shalit may not be alive? Asking me "do you have a son?" Well let me ask you Uri "do you have a father?" What a hypocrite! If this is the wrong Uri,I apologize.
12. #5,Rivkah thank a lot for your generosity you are the greate
e.m.Jordan is Palest ,   s.f   (02.27.09)
Unfortunately some Israeli has forgotten what this great man did for State of Israel, this great man many time have risked his life to save the Jewish State, I wish miracle will happen and he will wake up, Am Israel Chai

Uri   (02.27.09)
I read a medical report about his condition some time ago and the report says that he is brain dead. Yes he is in a coma but he is brain dead too.
15. #10
(02.27.09)
except Gilad and Omri profit from it...
16. #14 if he is brain dead, he can't live in Sycamore Ranch
observer   (02.27.09)
to do without life support equipments, his brain stem vital centers must have been working; he is supposed to live in vegetative state.
17. All other brain-dead people for such a ....
NoraTel Aviv ,   Tel Aviv   (02.27.09)
loooong period of time...would be allowed to die in peace, if it weren`t for Ariel Sharon.
18. Judging by his chracter, personality and background...
Glancer   (02.27.09)
he would very much prefer to die and be hounorably burried rather than stay alive like a vegetable.
19. Not Brain Dead, But Won't Be Playing The Piano Any Time Soon
David H, MD ,   Marietta USA   (02.27.09)
He is not salvageable, and for all sense and purposes dead. His medulla/brain stem keeps him breathing, keeps his heart pumping, controls his blood pressure. He is nothing more than human bacterial culture medium at this point. Keep the corpse comfortable, spare the family further pain, but for God's sake, let the man die in peace!
20. #11 Malone
(02.27.09)
What are you talikg about Malone? Are you high on something?
21. people are happy
m ,   jerusalem   (02.27.09)
Let him die in peace, they should pull the plug. Only his sons and the arab nations want to see him stay like this. 1) his sons profit from a monthly check to their fathers name and the arabs say let him suffer for what he did to sabra and shatiha. Pull the plug get some dignity back. I don't think anyone wants to live the way he is living.
22. DID THE WITHDRAWAL GIVE HIM THE STROKE?
Petra ,   United States   (02.27.09)
OR. GEO. BUSH INSISTENCE ON THIS MADNESS?
23. 22 Petra, US: The stress of the Gaza withdrawal situation
Rivkah   (02.27.09)
broke his heart, as it broke the hearts of both his sons. Zephaniah the Prophet in chapter 2 of the Bible book of his name prophesied the forsaking of Gaza in the last days. The judgment will come on the Philistines (Palestinians) who will all be killed by the Lord. Zephaniah did not say the judgment would fall on Sharon. Indeed, the ELS Bible codes say, "ha'Shem LOVES A (riel) Sharon." Leading a nation ages a person and often turns the hair white.
24. Ariel Sharon talking
S ,   USA   (03.05.09)
I heard someone say that Ariel Sharon was talking. Is that true? Why would they say that? I don't remember his name but he works with tourism, I think. Please let me know.
