31. #28 - Perhaps you are the racist
Seth Greenberg ,   Raanana, Israel   (02.27.09)
In asking "how can Arabs be loyal to Israel?" you have made a blanket statement about one ethnic group. Funny thing is that they are not really ONE ethnic group. Since the British Empire was the sovereign power in the Middle East, they have mislabeled anyone who speaks Arabic as an Arab. An Arab is someone from Arabia (what is today Saudi Arabia - thanks to the British - and Yemen). The people whom you label 'Arabs' are Muslims (Shiia & Sunni), Allawis, Druze, Christians and yes, even Jews who are still living in "Arab" lands. But then why should "Arabs" be loyal to Israel? They have 22 other countries to be loyal to if they choose to be. While the Jews have only one country. The country that Romans, Christians and Muslims refused to return to them for 2,000 years.

It's no one's fault but yours that you didn't read the party's agenda. In any case, you didn't vote for him, so what's your problem?
33. To: Sarah in Tel Aviv
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (02.27.09)
Too bad for you. I live in Israel six months of the year. Why don't you join Amira Hass in Gaza? You and she have opinion in common. Take Shuli Aloni with you. In case you haven't noticed, dear, most Israelis feel similarly to the way I do.
34. violation of Israeli sovereignity law 97b
sam ,   USA   (02.27.09)
35. NO TWO STAES ISRAEL'S DEATH WARRANT.
Petra ,   USA   (02.27.09)
HOW MANY ATTACKS DO YOU NEED TO PROVE THE POINT? NO TWO STATES IN ISRAEL, PERIOD.
36. I agree with Sarah #1
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (02.27.09)
37. Betrayal of Rights by Obama
Dean Grainger ,   Dublin   (02.27.09)
Obama will be betraying centuries of Black Struggle for human rights by sitting down and affording dignity to this unabashed racist fanatic. Dealing with Lieberman will be a recognition of apartheid as a legitimate form of society for millions of Palestinian Arabs in the occupied territories and Israeli proper and a kick in the teeth to his black brothers and sisters in South Africa who suffered under Apartheid for so long.
38. What if some Israeli-Arabs don't want the PA?
Avi ,   USA   (02.27.09)
All would be good with Mar Liberman's proposal if he would give the Israeli-Arabs the option to stay in Israel if they so desired ... and pay for their relocation to an area not ceded to the PA. However, that does not seem to be the case. Am I wrong? If I'm not wrong, his proposal is equivalent to a forced expulsion for those individuals that want to stay in Israel even though those individuals don't move a meter. Another name for forced expulsion on a large scale is ethnic cleansing.
39. #13, The typical Leftist defense mechanism: Cry Fascist
Jake   (02.28.09)
Leftists see their strategy and policies have failed, and their popularity is ZIP! (And please, do not try to hide behind Kadima). So, whenever there is someone they don't like who makes more sense than they do, they call him "Fascist". This is pathetic and puerile. A 10 year old child who is warned by his parents to "clean your room, or else" calls his parents "Fascists". For you, Lieberman is a Fascist. But what about the Leftists Sternhell, Avshalom Vilan, and the Haaretz editorial writers who called for the IDF to use tanks and overwhelming violent force to evacuate and even eliminate the settlements, and called on the Palestinians to "limit their terror attacks to the Jewish settlements beyond the Green Line". This is not Fascism? This is not criminal incitement? What planet are you on?
40. Seth Greenberg, #31, you are not correct
Jake   (02.28.09)
Jews that lived in Arab lands and adopted the Arabic language were not and were not regarged as Arabs. The traditional name for such Jews was , "Musta'arabi" : Arabized. A similar name was given to the Spanish Christians who lived under Arab rule and used Arabic language: "Mozarabes" The Egyptian Christians were always called "Copts" and the Christians of the Levant were usually called "Syrians", not Arabs. But well well before the British Empire conquered the Middle East, the word "Arab" was used to describe the Moslem Arab masses.
41. Palestine is no longer acceptable!
Bandar (Hezbollah) ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (02.28.09)
One state for Jews and Arabs with the right of return for Plestinians in addition to expelling all non middle eastern Jews. One man one vote. Call the state Israel, Palestine or whatever. Thats the only solution that we will accept. Have a nice day you all.
42. #1 Sarah, New York
Marco ,   Spain   (02.28.09)
Sarah dear, how about if you expel from Israel all Jews that are non Middle Eastern. Take back the Palestinian refugees and live happily ever after in one state where apartheid is ancient history and every one gets to vote. Two people in one state living together with equal rights and in peace with the neighbors. How about that Srah dear. I will be able to come over to Israel/Palestine on my vacations and spend some euros to help your failing economy, how about that dear?
43. #25 -Thank you for....
Laura ,   Ashkelon   (02.28.09)
your reference to the website re middle east and terrorism. It is 0841 and as I write we have a red alert in Ashkelon followed by 2 explosions. These continuing attacks remind us that the terror has not gone away and will not go away until the perpetrators are disposed of - one way or another.
44. im with lieberman
lyly ,   Algeria   (02.28.09)
if the two state solution is to bring about peace in the middle east why not. israel as a jew state and palestine as an arab muslim state. this will put an end to the conflict. all what the need now is reconciliation and help from the two sides to achieve that for their children to live in peace and stability.
45. #42 Your own failing Euro-Economy doesn't leave you with
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (02.28.09)
many Euros to spend in ours, Marco dearest. And wait... Isn't expelling people based on ethnic considerations what *you* just offered? Isn't *that* racist and more similar to Apartheid?
46. #38 You are wrong, Avi. Lieberman is quite adamant
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (02.28.09)
about it being a choice, even though he assumes that the majority of people in the region in question will wish to become part of Palestine.
47. Marco from Spain #42
Harry ,   NYC   (03.20.09)
Marco - Jews from Eurorpe, including the huge Sephardic population which was forced to leave Spain or be converted or killed by your ancestors, ARE from the middle east. And the majority of Jewish Israelis are also, within a few generations, from the Mid-East. Finally, Jews have been resident in Israel continuously - were a majority until the plague and the Crusader and Arab killings of the middle ages, and most of the "Palestinians" immigrated to the land that is now Israel, Gaza and the West Bank in the 1800s and 1900's. They can go back to the 82% of Palestine that is Jordan or to Syria or Lebanon or Egypt. But over a 1/4 of Spaniards and Portugeuse are descendents of the Jews that were forced to convert to Catholicism at the peril of being burned to death. The Inquisition in your racist country didn't end until 1834. You were the model for Hitler. Good luck with the moral high ground you hypocrite.
