1. Scenario
Sagi ,   Israel   (02.28.09)
For the next year at least there will be daily firings of rockets from Gaza and daily the Pm and DM will declare that we will "act and put a stop to it". As the empy words continue so the rocket attacks will increase both in quantity and range and daring. For well over a hundred years now the "Zionist Entity" has lived with these people. Do we need another hundred years in order to understand them ?
2. The city of Ashkelon.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (02.28.09)
Ashkelon is a beautiful little seaside city of 120.000 inhabitants. Life in Ashkelon was always peaceful and pleasant. Will the Israeli government permit the lot of Ashkelon to become as the one of Sderot or will the government react efficiently against the criminals of the Gaza Strip? The main target of the terrorists are the civilian population. The presence of the press on the battle field and the Geneva Chart are luxuries that a land in war cannot efford. We should fight with all means in order to win as described at : http://xrl.us/bi3q3
3. Ashqelon is a great place to live.

I love it and will not leave it!

Then the Middle East will commit a nuclear suicide.
5. Gaza
David ,   New England   (02.28.09)
I don'tknow why the US is sending $900,000,000 to rebuild Gaza while they are still at war with Israel.
6. Here's the real question ....
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (02.28.09)
If Israel were to bomb Gaza in a Dresden-type operation .... Would anyone really miss the Gazans? That fractious, violent, baby murdering (theirs and ours) rabble? I think: probably not. So ..... do it. The old saw: get rid of the problem NOW, ask questions LATER. Terrorist rabble are not interested in peace. Shake down Gaza, and what's left in the aftermath can "negotiate" its options (there won't be many).

Sagi ,   Israel   (02.28.09)
US has to bolster up her defense industries. 900 m is a small investment which will bring a big return. They rebuild, we destroy, new battlefield experience and new weapons systems to be developed and sold. It's a merry go round.
8. to #5 Look who is giving the money
jason white ,   afula,israel   (02.28.09)
It is sheik obama the muslim and that twisted hilary. They will give money to the terrorists to kill us. It is part of their agenda to destroy Israel. However we will be around when these two enemies of the Jews are long gone and hopefully forgotted. I hope that all the mentally ill "jews" that votd for our enemy are happy. Also why can't we have axelrod and emmanuel excommunicated? Where are the rabbis with guts to do this?
9. this news means that israel leaders are a group of idiots

10. what was the point
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (02.28.09)
What was the point of "Cast Lead"? Some believed Livni and Barak when they said they went into the expense and suffering of Cast Lead to rescue Gilad Shalit and stop the rockets on Israeli civilians. Cynics said that it was all about getting more votes for Kadima and Labor. Now we see the truth. Barak stopped "Cast Lead" as soon as he saw he wasn't rising in the polls. Barak and Livni plan to accept all Hamas demands (which were knwon before "Cast Lead") to get Shalit back. Rockets still fall on Israeli civilians and there is nothing Israel can do. The scary thing is that about a third of Israelis voted for these two proven failures.

Eric ,   Holmdel NJ USA   (02.28.09)
Bring war crime charges against these terrible Palestinians in Spain and Belgium; let justice prevail! It's reassuring to know that the civilized EU has finally figured out how to deal with the barbaric asian hordes.
12. A Simple Response
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (02.28.09)
The complete destruction of all remaining tunnels and the selective targeting of Hamas leaders should send a clear message to these terrorist maggots.
13. Wow, Sarah that is some intense writing.
Khalid ,   Gaza City   (02.28.09)
Were you neglected as a child or something? You just suggested carpet bombing 1.5 million people because 1000 of them fire rockets. You just suggested murdering thousands of babies, because we are "baby murderers". I think: you are probably in the 350-400 pound range, probably spilling bic mac sauce on your keyboard as you type. Join weightwatchers, it'll help. Also, go to a psychiatrist honestly. I'm just looking out for you. Anyone that suggests demolishing children and women indiscriminately like you (or Hamas) seriously needs some psichiatric help. Let me know how it tuns out ok??
14. attack from gaza
Marcel   (02.28.09)
Yoiu don't see gergia firing into south ossetia. Russia made its point. If you review cast lead, ashkenazi did a great job training, barak added to that. however, barak was extremely reluctant, did not want to go in, did not want to retake philadelphi, and held his breath. He even proposed an earlier ceasefire as if hamas is rational. Hittting tunnels severely for each rocket is logical because it means money for arabs. Retaking philadelphi would have been a good short to medium term move.Barak can be a commando advisor, nothing more. He was a lousy chief of staff, a horrible PM and a below average defense minister. He covers himself more against a defeat than he screws up the courage to victory. Is he a coward? No, he is not. But he is tired, and has no fight left in him. is he better than Mofaz? Yest in tactical terms he is better. But in willingness to fight, no. Mofaz is good in willingness, not in tactics. Yaalon far exceeds these 2 gentlement in skills and daring. he should be the defense minister.
15. Who actually cares, after all the elections are over...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem Israel   (02.28.09)
Maybe our government will do something in another 4 years. Push the button.
16.  Grad rockets hit Ashkelon # 13 khalid
Yonatan ,   Jerusalem   (02.28.09)
the problem is you in gaza think by sending rockets into Israel you can claim you won the war, the thing is you lost, lost big, lost big in kuwait lost bid in jordan and you lost big time in lebanon, now the thing is as long as you in gaza cannot live as civilized people you will never be joined with the west bank and so no palestinian state, just ask yourselves why you don't already have a state?
17. Ashkelon, or Asqalan is a Palestinian city
Palestinian   (02.28.09)
and many of the refugee in the Gaza strip, 75% of them are not from the strip, orginially hail from the city of Ashkelon, Beer Sheva and many of the Palestinian towns and villages that were destroyed in the 1948 war and that is known today as south Israel!

Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (02.28.09)
You have already murdered your babies. Even if they don't die as babies, they will either be brainwashed and end up enlisting a random terrorist organisation and get killed or they will try to get out of Gaza and if they won't succeed, they might die as human shield. Not a very bright future your leaders have prepared for you.
19. 17: You're not a refugee, you're cannon fodder
Grigorius   (02.28.09)
Grandchildren of refugees aren't considered refugees, unless they are "Palestinians". You are labeled this way and kept in a ghetto refugee camp to make you want to die for some false cause invented just about 40 years ago. There haven't been Palestinian people 40 years ago.
20. Ashkelon
Samantha   (02.28.09)
Biblical port city where Samson lived way before the arabs. And Khalid- itis like soooo ugly to insult a lady like that- how dare you make such insane assumptions-geez!! you are lower than low. To go from arguing a point t(even kids can argue an issue without turning to unconnected insults and accusations of obesity and sauce)-ok.......sad sad sad
