Current proposals like the Road Map are totally unworkable and should be abandoned. Considering the fact that the only possible relations between the Muslims and the non-Muslims are war or a limited ceasefire, it follows that the word “peace” should be deleted from Israel’s lexicon as well as the notion of peace with the Arabs as a viable, political possibility. The maximum that Israel can aim for is a limited ceasefire or an armistice, taking into consideration that the Arab side will violate it at any time, as the Palestinians have been proving on a daily basis since the signing of the Oslo Accords in September 1993. Bombing sand doesn't stop the smugglers but flooding their tunnels would. No need for expensive solutions involving concrete wall liners. Series of crude unlined narrow trenches or ponds pumped full of sea water will put the hurt on the tunnels. These trenches don’t need to be contiguous. Occasional blasting in these saturated areas will be cheaper and more effective that bombing sand with jet airplanes. Army engineering groups just need to be allowed by the government to do it. They should start where ever they feel are good spots to drown tunnel rats.

These tunnels are being bankrolled by someone one, and that should be the storyline. Kids can make $200 a day, and more, to dig these tunnels, and they don't care what goes through them. Get my point? Who is bankrolling these holes?
