Weakening Israel will not have the desired effect - in fact complete opposite. If the country senses that it is indeed isolated ,surrounded by enemies and former friendly countries turn their backs because home grown Islamic sympathys, it will deal with the situation with far less restraint. Egypt, a more moderate country, is fed up with Hizbullah. Egyptian's are pulling down their posters of Nasrallah and Britain decides that this is a good time to open dialogue.
