First off, who gives a **** if Hezbollah recognizes Israel or not? What would it actually accomplish if Nasrallah said, "Israel is a real place?" His agenda and that of his organization still wouldn't change. Second, he already has recognized it as a country through refusing to recognize, by attacking it, doing prisoner exchanges, and by accepting a cease fire.

its not 1 or 0. In other word its not a discrete thing its a continuous spectrum. Different people recognize Israel at different levels. For that reason I think the US should not put pre-conditions on Hezbollah but begin talking and as things improve, as peace comes, and as issues are dealt with one by one, then slowly the Arab people will start accepting Israel more and more and so it will go from 0.0001 to 0.01 to 0.1 to 0.3 to 0.5, and so on. but I highly doubt the Arab street will go from 0 to 1 over night, especially after the latest war on Gaza. Force will not do it, only dialogue and patience and working on events that bring mutual benefit.
