By refusing to provide a path for peace, they are dooming the Palestinians (and the Israelis) to more years of this bloody struggle. The foundation of Israel was a tragedy, but it is now an established fact. It is possible to negotiate for peace and to establish some kind of a lasting arrangement that will end the current situation. Not to do so and to cling to the injustices of the past is unforgivable - it is as if the Amerindians in the United States were to start blowing up people and buildings and demand that everyone head back to Europe/Asia/wherever they came from. At some point, you have to give up on unrealistic dreams and negotiate. Fatah has not always been willing to do so, but it is to their credit that they are now willing to. Egypt used to be a bad neighbor of Israel for similar reasons, but now things are improved. It is time for Hamas and Hezbollah to adapt to new realities, for the sake of both the lives and opportunities that are lost here.
