31. Ha,ha,ha,ha!!!!
John ,   Eur   (03.16.09)
I said EXACTLY the same thing few weeks ago, but I was spat upon. Continue with delusions and arrogance, Israelies, and you will start to beg America to save you from destruction.
32. Eitan the Leftie
David Rosenberg ,   New York, USA   (03.16.09)
Eitan the leftie claims that Israel did not attain decisive military victories since 1967. HIs defeatist leftist logic is flawed on many levels. The fact is that Israels victories post 1967have been clear and dramatic. In 1973 Israel was verged to take Cairo and Damascus while the entire Arab world begged the Russians to end the war. In 1982 ISrael drove the PLO out of Beiruit in shame. Even Nasrallah admitted a while back that he would not have ordered the attack on the Israeli border in 2006 had he known the IDF would react the way it did. The fact of the matter is that Israel is a regional superpower with the means and capabilities to destroy all her enemies. It is the lefties, like Haber, which inhibit Israel to do what needs to be done.
33. To John the Euro
David Rosenberg ,   New York, USA   (03.16.09)
What makes you think that Israel will need the United States to save it from destruction? Rather than worry about Israel you ought to worry about Europe. You have tens of millions of hostile Muslims living on your continent comprising anywhere between 10-30 percent of the population. They are poised to begin the third Islamic attempted conquest of Europe. Rather than focus on Israel and glee over your rabid dilusions for her destruction you better take a good hard look around you. Before you know it those around you will either be destroyed or be subject to Shiriah law, yourself included.
34. More Clever Thoughts from the Idiot who gave the enemy guns
Tomer ,   Herzeliyya   (03.16.09)
Why is Ynet giving a platform to a Mega-Loon like Haber? This is the same self-delusional Cukoo who brought in 50, 000 terrorists in 1994 and gave them guns! Come on Ynet, Lose Haber the Loser
35. Israel, do not act in haste.
leo ,   USA   (03.16.09)
Hitting Iran is logistical nightmare for Israel. I doubt Iran has sufficient means to retaliate but Israel's attack will prolong Mullah's rule. I say let Iran rot or recover on its own. Do not interfere.
36. 31#I know one thing
Dani ,   Israel   (03.16.09)
We're going down, be sure the Arabs/Iranians aint going to collect the 'fruits'. So in case Israel goes down(which is possible) all those who think of 'great victory' can calm down, especially the Palis, they aint gonna make a country over a radiation feild(considering they survive, highly unlikely if we dont). Take care in Eurabia:)
37. Israel has a solution for iran.
Barney ,   Berlin Germany   (03.16.09)
Europe does not have a solution for its islamic problem. Europe is in trouble if it doesnt wake up.

39. tired old man
gordy   (03.16.09)
defeatist attitude is the problem. just stop crying like some old woman. you do not have to say much more than you have ways to deal with whatever threats crop up in the forseable future. that you have plans to act when and if necessary. just because israel has not won any battles in years doe not mean that if a war starts say you have what you need to bring the decisive victory. the big problem for israel the have not been willing to kill the enemy . to make the big enemies know that you mean business all the time you must rip up the small enemy every time. next time a gaza operation takes place the israeli army needs to be let loose to kill thousands per hour. without massive killings you can not have any detterance value. and for now israel has none.
40. PIPE DREAMS.......!
joey   (03.16.09)
TO # 9, Rivkah. I want HIM to put it in writing today, not 1000's of years ago (things change), fax a signed copy to Ynet to be published. TO # 25 , Aaron. Please, do tell me how easily HE can accomplish this worthwhile deed.
41. the "iranian problem"
tom ,   toronto, canada   (03.17.09)
the "iranian problem" is not really a military one - bombing one or more nuclear installations will not remove the threat to israel of a fanatical regime bent on mahdaviat. hezbollah and hamas, iran's proxies, have already hit israel more directly than the iranian nuclear weapons programme. the solution to the "iranian problem" lies in people, or, more specifically, in regime change. only regime change can reliably dismantle the nuclear toys, as well as the state-run hate engine that the mullahs have built to propel them. meanwhile, articles like this one, which argue whether the iaf can bomb iran without using american-controlled airspace, or whether the idf's last name is "superman", are just a stupid waste of breath.
42. Learning from Jabotinsky
Logic ,   Israel   (03.17.09)
Jabotinsky warned the Jews of an upcoming Holocaust. Ahmedinijad warns about wiping us from the map. Which "unusual, different people" should we listen to this time, Mr. Haber?
43. Israel shouldn't be left to do this all by herself.
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.17.09)
As Haber correctly says, bombing the Iranian nuclear facilities is a very difficult and risky task, which Israel itself cannot do all by herself. Since a nuclear Iran is a threat to the entire free world (and America in its front) as much as it is for Israel - I see no reason why an American president wouldn't be wise enough to do whatever it takes to neutralize this threat ASAP. The US and the West should not rely on Israel to do their work! We can't do this all by ourselves. We need to attack in joined forces. It is in our interest as much as it is in America's. Obama, wake up!
44. the article simplifies things & gets facts wrong
zionist forever   (03.17.09)
Of course the IDF isn't Superman no army is but this article looks at the surface not the deeper reality. Alone Israel can't destroy the Iranian nuclear program but may be able to set it back to buy time for either a REAL negotiatied solution or for the US gets involved. With intellgence mistakes are made. Sometimes intellligence gatherers alone screw up but sometimes its combined by stupid politicians. The intellecence people were caught off gaurd in 1973 but Golda was an idiot. King Hussain secretly flew to Israel and warned her about the coming attack but she didn't believe him and did nothing to prepare for war. The war itself though it could be argued was a greater victory than 1967. In 1967 we used a strategic pre emptive strike caught the arabs off gaurd after that it was a 1 sided war. In 1973 we were caught off gaurd and started off on the defensive but did turn it around and won so how can that be a failure? Lebanon 1 the Syrian military was defeated and the PLO was driven out. Because tit didn't take 6 days doesn't mean we lost. Lebanon 2 was a disaster because of individuals and even the political system itself. During the oslo years politicians took the attitude oslo will bring utopia to Israel and we are negotiating for that. Enemy states don't attack anymore so lets just downgrade the IDF into a counter terror police force not an army. A police force doesn't need the same budget an army does & succesive governments slashed the IDF budget until it came to a solution where reserves were not called up for years at a tiime & forgot skills. With equipment we would buy a tank but not fit it with a system to protect from anti tank rockets to save money. We havn't had a conventional war and ned to mobile reserves so we didn't buy enough body armour. Regulars didn't get many live fire exercises to save money. The country was being run by the wrong people. Olmert & Livni didn't know how to run this war and the defense minister had only ever fought battles for the Histadrut and had never even served in the IDF. That is a direct result of the coalition system which means governments are made up of coalition pay offs so we got and idiot like Peretz as DM. The chief of staff was an air force general who was convinced that air power would win the war and so despite being asked for more infantry by the officers on the ground he didn't give it to them till near the ceasefire. The myth the IDF is superman thats a weapon in itself if the enemy believes it. If the enemy believe you can defeat them with a slice of pizza and are to scared to attack because you have pizza does the reality matter? Superman Legends can avoid wars & readiness for fight wins them. This it the reality bellow they simplified surface of the article.
45. You hit the nail on the head.
Chana ,   Israel   (03.17.09)
Your analysis of the situation is very realistic. I'm very concerned about the seriousness of the Iranian threat, but I find many people are too busy with everyday committments or don't really want to delve into the alarming threat we are facing by an Iranian nuclear capability.

47. #36 & #37
IRAN#1   (03.17.09)
Interesting posters here: #36 is ready to be a suicidal homocide bomber. #37 is talking like the Germans in 1930s with a "solution" Very reassuring :)
48. Tahl
Marilyn ,   USA   (03.17.09)
America will never be a willing participant in wars, let alone premptive ones. When it does, it is bound to suffer and bleed extensively. Now lets say that for some reason America was different and more of a fighter and wanted to protect free world, then the first target would be North Korea, not Iran.

benjamin ordover ,   marietta, Ga. USA   (03.21.09)
The IDF can't perform miracles but it can try. Better to fight and lose than to line up again in front of the gas chambers. Obama and the US won't help. The US can't even help themselves. So what do you propose Mr ex-intelligence chief?
