1. We can all see how well N. Ireland worked for the Brits
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (03.16.09)
England wants to talk to Hizbullah in order to bring them into politics and away from violence - just like the IRA. Given the multiple deaths only this past week, we can all see how well talking to the IRA worked out. Once a terrorist organization always a terrorist organization.
2. Gilad is absolutely right
Joe ,   Canada   (03.16.09)
Even if some one could imagine a peace agreement with one leader of such fanatic terror group, this leader & his organization would quickly be overtaken by an even more violent group seeking popular support by denouncing the former one as a traitor. In addition to these internal fractuous segments there are the powerful manipulations of the external funding & arming states with their own agenda such as Iran & Syria not to mention Al Qaeda. One can see how a tentative peace agreement with Fatah is denounced by Hamas. The long term objectives of Hamas & Hezbollah are perfectly clear regarding the existence of Israel. As long as they are supported by petro dollars they will survive but they will eventually fade away or be destroyed by the same kind of violence with which they try to impose their way of life. There is no chance that their dream of returning to the Middle-Ages will derail the progress of democracy among all nations.
3. Blunt honesty from Amos Gilad

the right to die.
5. Don't trust Hamas, Hizbullah
NYC Girl   (03.17.09)
And I wouldn't be too quick to trust Fatah either...because they all have the uncanny ability to talk out of both sides of their mouths at the same time.
6. Blaming the wrong party
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (03.17.09)
Gilad, you are talking about Israel, but shorten the time till Israel breaks the truce from 30 days to 6 hours. I have never seen Israel last over six hours in a truce without breaking it. After a few such breaches the other side gets sick and tired of their people being killed, and they let go a few rockets. And Israel always says, "See! They broke the truce!"
7. Gilad is absolutely right.
