Israel have no problem to release women and children Hamas want the terorists with blood on their hand to be release, so no way.
33. toughened? hamas?
ghostq   (03.17.09)
they r known to go with their heads up against the wall, no they have never changed their stance. it's Israel that have toughened it's stance, the more Hamas insists the less he gets. In any good agrement you have to compromise from both sides I guess Hamas has to learn things the hard way.
34. GILAD IS NOT DEAD
vashDi ,   israEL   (03.17.09)
PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR HIS SAFE RETURN. HAVE FAITH IN THE ALLMIGHTY . G-D BLESS GILAD BEN AVIVA. AMEN
35. Give 'em what they want . . .
Shaul ,   Sheboygan   (03.17.09)
SHARIA LAW Fly in some experienced "technicians" from Saudi Arabia. Fifteen hundred men from the Hamas list get to go home. (Their hands and feet stay in IDF custody. )
36. PATHETIC
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (03.17.09)
That is the only word that comes to mind, how these sadistic savages toy with this bunch off defeatist loosers. We can expect more abductions , looking at the way this is affecting any leftover logic with our leaders.
37. Step aside, let Bibi deal with it now
Israel   (03.17.09)
For over three years, the government has not been able to return Gilad. Let Bibi into the arena now........ without boxing gloves. But I'm sure he'll come up with the solution that most Israelis think the appropriate - seal the Gaza Strip - cut off water, food, aid, gas EVERYTHING - let them die a slow death until they return our boy.
38. PM's Office: Hamas toughened its stance
Yonatan ,   Jerusalem   (03.17.09)
hamas didn't toughened its stance, it only seems that way to the pm's office due to their indecisiveness, and their policy of appeasement, olmert and c/o believe by begging and pleading with the arabs to allow the jew's the right to live, they can continue to fill their pockets without ever fulfilling their promises to the people
39. there is only 1 reason they are demndng this
zionist forever   (03.17.09)
BECAUSE THEY KNOW ISRAEL WILL PAY Over the years this country has gone from being one that hurts its enemies rather than negotiate. Today Entebbe wouold be unthinkable, we would probably be to worried about how it would affect diplomatic relations with idi Amin and so we would say to the terrorists you can demand any price and we will pay it in full because we are obsessed with avoiding conflict whenever possible and what other people think of us. We have gone from being a regional power that was feared but respectecd into a pathetic country that doesn't have the will to finish wars, gives in to its enemies rather than fight them to the end and our enemies laugh at us and take advantage. Anybody who has seen the movie Forrest Gump will know that whenever there is a problem is told to run away don't get involved. Thats what 21st century Israel has become ... if there is a problem run don't fight. Even the mighty Sharon released 400 Hizbullah terrorists for the corpses of 2 soilders and one drug dealer. We have earned a reputation for surrender. Remove the blue bars and stars and you have a flag which symbolises 21st century Israel ... a white flag. We need to stand up to our enemies then we wouldn't have half the problems we do today There need to be laws which say we dont do deals with terrorists it will make it possiible to keep emotion out of policy For Shalit we must say to Hamas we are not going to pay a rediculously high price you already demanding. Then once Gilad is back int the country we double cross them. Based on the current terms we give them a certain number of terrorists first, then they give us Gilad after he is back in the country, Once we have him we should say sorry Hamas we are not going to release the rest of them just like you would we are going to dirty. Egypt will complain but nobody has to take them seriously and any terrorists who are released are assasinated
40. To Fendi #16. Israel Should ALWAYS Be Prepared.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (03.17.09)
You say :” DELIBERATELY losing wars “ The stated aim is : ‘We are tired of winning wars’. IF that’s the mindset -- than the outcome should be VERY clear. BTW in every century for the past 3,000 years (if not longer) there were many wars in the Middle East. And there will be wars in the Middle East in the coming 100,000 years. CONCLUSION : Israel should ALWAYS be prepared to defend herself against aggression. To Gary #25. Great question, Gary.
41. To Ghostq #33. The Next Time They Negotiate.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (03.17.09)
You say :”.. I guess Hamas has to learn things the hard way.” The hard way means, the price this time was 1400-plus terrorists/criminals in exchange for Gilad Shalit, the next time they negotiate the price should be brought down to 900 terrorists/criminals. Than the time thereafter they negotiate, the price should be brought down to 400 terrorists/criminals. Thereafter the price should come down to 50 terrorists/criminals, thereafter to 10 terrorists/criminals, and thereafter to 1 terrorist/criminal in exchange for Gilad Shalit. That’s how Israel should deal with Hamas -- and thus prepare them to be part of the 21st Century civilized world.

ghostq   (03.17.09)
lol you said civilized and Hamas in the same sentence, and you right about them, but it will take them a lot of time to realize that.
43. Sarah, YOU need to get a grip
Mark ,   Miami   (03.17.09)
Hamas has said many times that Gilad is alive. Hezbollah NEVER said Eldad and Ehud were alive. Get a grip.
44. To: Mark at No. 43
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (03.17.09)
So why are they so unwilling to prove it? Shouldn't be a problem, but it is. Why? (By the way --- you don't seriously take Hamas at their word, do you?)
45. To#44: Because they like psychological torture.
EST ,   Miami USA   (03.18.09)
